Ive made a new website on fitness, exercise and healthy living, its not extensive but it tells you the basics on a good, fit and healthy life. Its pretty easy for younger ones like children or teenagers to flick through and understand. Take a look at www.fitness4living.co.uk

Whats your opinion on it?

I highly recommend against young kids and teenagers looking at this information. The fact that it isn't detailed leaves a lot to the imagination when it comes to young kids exercising. There is basically no concrete information as far as training pre-adolescent and adolescent people. Getting in contact with a professional trainer is leaves the possibility for more misinformation. Many trainers that train adults like to pass themselves off as athletic development specialists or youth conditioning specialists when they have really no clue what the difference is. They are just trying to get another chunk of growing niche in the fitness industry. I don't want to be negative and say the information is lousy because it isn't. When dealing with development of young people it is more detailed than just sets and reps.

Sorry to add more but I also noticed on the running page that you encourage stretching. Static stretching actually increases the risk for injury and causes a temporary loss of power expression.

i dont think its been fully proven that stretching helps/hinders running. its still a big debate. I stretch after my run, but not before, and it seems to work well. even if it does increase risk for injury because of microtears, I think the risk would be greater if you didn't stretch at all.

there has been experiments run with athletes that have found that during specific activities, the use of static stretching beforehand has hindered performance.

well from personal experience if I don't stretch a little I tighten up during the run and that hinders my performance. i think each person needs to find what is best

fit,

do you warmup before you run (besides the stretching). like do you walk at a moderate/fast pace for a certain amount of time?
