this is really startin to sound like me...

i can do like 4 at most 5 pull ups...and around 8-9 chin ups(palms facing you)....and my pbliques go in too...try to do some twisting crunches..and put you legs up in the air, cross your ankles and go with your right elbow to your left knee..then back down, up with the left to the right, and then up to the middle...do this a few sets for like 15 reps....it works ok..

for pullups...basically..just do them more often...squats, deadlifts, and lat pulls and the compound lifts will also help...

squats won't help your pullups. Try doing lat pulldowns, or assisted pullups. Keep adding weight just like you would any other exercise, and eventually you'll get there. Do them often but not too often or you might find it'll just get worse. If you hit a plateau doing chinups, add a couple pounds - at first you might not be able to do as many reps as if you were lifting bodyweight, but keep at it and try to do a few more reps each time you do them. After doing that for a while you'll find you can do a lot more than you used to be able to do with just bodyweight. There was a thread on this a while ago in the training forum, do a search you should be able to find it.

um..matt..im pretty sure that i read somewhere on here a while ago that doing the Big 5...was good for full body..i was tryin to think of some of the exercises off the top of my head..and it may not help much, but it does help..and it makes the abs stronger too...since your basically standing...this makes the abs work..

btw...anyone reading this..ignore my member rating..i think thats actually a pretty stupid thing..ne one could come on here and rate someone bad...like someone ratin jp a 1..not tru at all...

Sure squats may help with your ab strength, but you were saying that they'll help with his pullups. Squats work your legs, lower back and abs. Improving your squat will not help your pullup, and improving your pullup will not help your squat.
The Big5 are great exercises to do, I'm not saying that they aren't, but you have to think of what movements work what muscles.
btw Fender, if you've got lovehandles and you want to get rid of them, you need to lose some fat. That's what they are, just a layer of fat covering your obliques.
