in my view all the DDR games are pretty much the same… only the music is different (barely). I mean, you hit the buttons when you're suppotta… that's about it.

I won't comment on being confused by the wii…

If you get it report. We were thinking about it… but we've also not been playing anything lately and spend more time with the laser and metal shop so maybe it doesn't matter.

And fuzzy ≠ fluffy.
and now I have to say it don't count anyway without proof that the carpet matches the drapes.
and now that concludes the inappropriate portion of this post, thanks and have a nice day

Oh come on! I worked on that gecko for, literally, minutes in photoshop. Give me a little leeway for that. I couldn't think of a way to actually make the gecko fluffy all over and I'm not going to touch the carpet/drapes comment with a 10 foot pole .

So... Over in Espi's thread I was discussing with her my new found obsession with looking at rolling averages for weight. I went back and did a 4 week rolling average for my weight loss so far, and I see something I didn't notice just tracking actual weight. I think it's going to be a very useful tool.

Here's actual weight:

And here's the rolling average:

Oh, and thanks for the input on the DDR games. I will be sure to let you know what I think of EA Active. That's if we ever get out of the house. The 6 yo is having a clothing choice crisis.

That is interesting.. what did exactly happen that your weight dipped down so much in week 40 (?) . Was your trip to the shores in week 43 when it was steady or when it was climbing up again.

What is very typical of when I go on a trip, is that in the beginning I'll see a rapid weight loss due to getting used to food & still wanting to be rather strict with diet (at least for longer trips), but seeing or rather feeling how clothes start to feel looser, becoming less strict.
In the past before I started tracking food intake , I'd ALWAYS blow it at home.. when not realizing that the new intake pattern that I'd adopted over the course of a trip was adequate for the trip but totally inadequate for being at home.
Nowadays I'm nipping that in the bud right away.. at least that's how I would do it when I'd have the time for longer trips..

I think what happened is that I buckled down really hard pre-vacation because I was scared that I was going to gain weight. I planned on not tracking during vacation, but just trying not to overdo it too much. So, I didn't track, and I did okay, not great, but okay. I didn't gorge myself, but I did eat a lot more and a lot more unhealthy stuff.

What's really interesting to me, which I just now noticed, is that if I'd take out those 5 data points in the dip, it would pretty much be a nice steady curve (although the slope is flattening out, which is okay since I'm sorta supposed to be maintaining). The buckling down made a big difference, but I essentially erased it by vacation and the week or so it took to get back on track.

Never tried EA Sports Active, but to put in an opposing viewpoint, I love the DDR games. I got the Disney one, and then bought the original Hottest Party off of amazon marketplace (since it's no longer sold in stores). Largely b/c yes, I do like the song variety.

In terms of cost-effectiveness, I'd recommend getting DDR Disney Grooves first as it comes with two mats. You can then add on single titles (w/o additional mats) through eBay, amazon marketplace, etc. (Unless of course you want more mats; then stick with the bundles.) That's what I'm doing.

I have Wii Fit but honestly haven't used it at all in hmm three months or so. I get a better cardio workout, if that's my goal, with DDR. I wouldn't say the strength training on Wii Fit is a total joke (BW exercises aren't evil and actually I plan to focus on BW exercises after I finish OPT), but it's very easy to cheat, you can't plan your sets/reps, and I just found the interface irritating.

My brother also got Wii Sports Resort recently. Only played it for around 10 minutes, but it seemed fun. Relatively lowgrade activity, however, though I have heard of people really getting into tennis or boxing.
