Aw, the Great Cat vs Dog Debate . .. it has gone on for centuries and will do doubt continue.
As for me, I will say that I respond to a dog's selflessness and loyalty. Those are strong characteristics in their corner. Cat leave you alone and don't pee in the floor. That can be nice too.
I will say that I tend to enjoy kittens more than I do puppies. Kittens have coordination and are so cute playing and swatting at things . . however they do eventually grow into 'meowing cat-lumps'.
For me it comes down to one simple truism ~ Cats expect to get . . Dogs expect to give.
But I've had both, and certainly loved both.
Now to take a slight glance into the immediate past and view yesterday:
I did get some sleep, but woke up feeling not-so-awesome and with the start of a cold sore. I was really dizzy all day long, like crazy dizzy.
At 4:30pm, I went to a Sample Seminar (which I knew was coming and had been dreading). I was the only manager trainee there, and short of lying and saying I have allergies (that I don't have), there was really no way I was getting out of trying things.
They all set around with happy eyes and expectant faces, waiting on me to try each bite and declare it yummy. What can I say?
I drank the kool-aid
What I sampled was:
Tomato Basil Bread
Cinnamon Roll
Pumpkin Muffin
Pecan Bun
Cobblestone
A bite or two of each.
Naturally, they were all good products, but I didn't feel good the whole time, and after eating that, I got a HUGE sugar rush and was literally trembling.
It's sad to cheat on your diet and not to even enjoy it.
The seminar went from 4:30pm to 9pm, then I headed over to do my nighttime baker-stuff. That was 9:30pm to 6am.
I felt like crap all night. Still really dizzy, sick in my stomach, trembly, and started my period.
Tonight is the last night of craziness ~ 10pm to 6am. Then I am off for three days.
The world needs to stop spinning so fast. Or perhaps just let me off for a minute.

Lie down & relax. Better yet, go eat a lot of protein-rich food , preferably with a ton of salt (or take your minerals) as it sounds like you're low on salt too.. & then go to bed early.
You didn't cheat, you had WORK to do: sampling = part & parcel of your traineeship, so you didn't cheat

I am officially un-good. I have eaten 3 handfuls of potato chips and a cup of hot tea today. Even the thought of food is making me so queasy that I can't stand it.
I feel badly.
I will post the update on this sometime later.
Now I must get dressed and go in to work all night
*sigh*

Then it will make my day tomorrow knowing that you will be playing catch up . . . unless you are playing with my emotions.
Sometimes people do that to me . . . say they are going to be my friend and then don't.
That can't hurt a person's feelings you know

Well, at least you have people saying they'll be your friend! My log is singularly devoid of devoted subscribers. I guess it's just not as exciting as yours. . . .

Awwww. I am subscribed to your log... just rarely comment in it! Though I had the same thought when I read that.

.
Sure, sure, butter me up if it makes y'all feel better.
Truth is, I have a lot of comments in my logs because I don't clutter the place up with crazy things like New PR's and reports of weight loss.
My plan is simple. Add trivial amounts of weight and keep the lifts in 2 digits or less (still on plan) then struggle out a mere 3.5 lbs of loss every 6-8 weeks (doing very well with this) . . . and then you have plenty of time to talk about other things (and occasionally write a 'fluff piece').
Say I was one of those chicks that lifted into the triple digits, ran 20 miles, competed in actual competitions, dropped weight in a steady fashion?? Then what??? You start getting your log filled up with stuff like that and you don't have time for more trivial matters.
All that stuff must be WORK!
I figure at the rate I'm going, I'll be popping out 105# deadlifts sometime late 2010, and perhaps have dropped 6-10lbs by then too.
I can see how that might not be HYOOOGE by other's standards . . . but I've got skills.
I've got skills.

Chuckles.. knew you wouldn't . Just had to laugh about the 'new' (?) poster in the hectic protein/carb debate who uses the name 'YasserArafat' and was trying to bring peace.
Hey, Katydid.. one thing I forgot to comment upon is that it was interesting you chose potato crisps to eat when you felt dizzy.. see how you automatically went for a salty snack. How are your plans re the extra minerals/electrolytes you were probably needing (father having a similar problem)

I saw YasserArafat in that thread, but I couldn't figure out what the thread was about! Maybe I'm missing crucial knowledge in order to decipher that conversation.

sanks you. very random, but my best friend called me today to tell me she has killed 5 brown recluse spiders in her apartment this week ~this is somehow connected in thought to the name of your training log

I thought of this too!!! It is amazing how the thought of food can make you sooo sick, and yet there is one thing that you actually crave.
I once knew this preacher that believed God had your body designed to 'tell' you what you needed to eat at all times. He didn't believe in Gluttony, but he took knowing what you needed seriously. You could ask him what he wanted to eat and he would say 'don't know, my body hasn't told me yet' . . . or if you said you were hungry but didn't know what you wanted, he would say "then you are gluttonous, not hungry'
Odd I know, but it worked well for him. He was in great shape, and lived a very long and healthy life.
Perhaps he had something.
MY NEXT POST WILL BE A WORKOUT!! I PINKY PROMISE!!!

For multi quoting SEVERAL people you click on the " button at the bottom right corner.
For multi quoting ONE person, I don't actually know what others do but *I* duplicate or triplicate one single quote & then cut out what is not relevant.
Since I'm lazy.. i just don't do that & assume people will more or less know what I'm talking about (Lancelotlover asking how to multi-quote)
@ Cadi: I'm actually a firm believer in the body telling us what it wants.... that is "what" it wants.. not so much "how much it wants". Also, once you start eating junkier foods it's harder to hear the body asking for other foods. Learnt the hard way to first eat my healthy foods & only then reach for the goodies.. (sweets, crisps etc).
One example of what really could happen if you aren't allowed to follow your instincts: little boy literally eats salt by the handfuls @ home. Gets sent to hospital where he's obviously prevented from doing the same... he dies before they find out he has a rare disease that makes him lose salt from the body in humongous amounts...
It's an extreme example yes, but still....
Too bad there is somehow a broken sensor when it comes to judging how much I should eat. Actually it works fine as long as I don't eat combinations of carbs+fats & stay away from dairy & gluten as well. It also doesn't work when being super-stressed.. which unfortunately is one of the things that lifting weights does, despite loving it.
