I survived it, but have been beat the whole day. I was feeling some fatigue even before today, just in general lately, don't know why. Last night I came home and just sat, had no energy for anything, and so DH said why don't I go work out, it helps, and I did 30 minutes on the elliptical. It does help, but only short term.
I napped on the boat today (I don't fish, hate fishing, it's torture to me, but my son LOVES it), but not well due to the movement. Came home midday and took three kids out to lunch then we had cake and ice cream, then I crashed and took a three hour nap. Hate doing that, because I always feel worse afterward. Have not yet come up to speed, still fatigued. In fact, typing is tiring so I'm going to stop.

Rest up! Sometimes that's what the body needs more than anything else.

I hate long naps too. Makes me feel so drained and zombie-ish afterward. But if your body shuts you down like that then you must have really needed it. I hope your day is a more rested one today.
someone just told me that seasickness can result in that fatigue. I was feeling slightly queasy even with Dramamine. Maybe that was it. I feel better today.
Next time (if there is one) try some ginger capsules. I don't usually get seasick, but during one rough Atlantic crossing they helped. In fact, come to think about it, that may be why gingerale settles your stomach as well.
I think some of it was empty stomach, since we got up so early and didn't have time to cook my usual breakfast. I had PP in water, then a doughnut (yuck), and that was all until I got a hamburger on the boat. After the hamburger I finally felt ok. It was getting some real food in that helped, I think. My younger son had the same problem, even with the Dramamine; he felt weird until after burger, too, then suddenly perked up.
I'll have to try ginger, though. I love ginger ale!
Since everyone is posting animal stories, I'll have to write some about my kitties. The one in my avatar I got around the same time as my skunk story experience (chronicled in Katydid77's log).

But later; it's time to go to work.
You are such a tease

And this is Veda (sorry it's so washed out; bad photo):
And this is Puss with Veda:
They did a lot of sleeping. . . . .
Unfortunately they are not around anymore. Old and sick.
When I lived in the apartment of the skunk story fame (see above), we got Veda from the animal shelter. She was in a cage right by the door, and as soon as we went in, she began rolling around, purring, looking at us, and reaching through the bars toward us. We were hooked. There was no way we could have left without her. We called her our lucky charm, because I had been un-pregnant for two years before we got her, despite much attempting to be pregnant. A month after Veda came home, the rabbit died.
Puss had a twin sister named. . . . .Boots. So they were Puss-n-Boots. (Yes, Puss was a boy; I know, I know, but the name really did fit him!)
Before we got Veda, BF and I had started feeding a wild stray cat who lived in the vacant lot, likely neighbors with the skunk of Yoplait yogurt cup fame. She looked exactly like Puss (and Boots, believe it or not). She was so wild I never actually managed to lay a finger on her in the year or so we knew her. We called her Sticker. After a while of Sticker coming around, it became apparent that she was, ahem, in the family way. I put a large cat carrier outside our door on a little plot of garden we had there, with the door propped open and blankets inside. Sure enough, she had her kittens there on March 1, 1998, in a pouring rainstorm. 5 little cuties. In the way of wild things, one was a runt that Sticker rejected, apparently realizing that she couldn't feed all 5 babies. No matter how many times I pushed it back into the carrier, she would push it out again, into the rain. I finally tried feeding it myself, but to no avail. One down, four left. Again in the way of wild things, two of the others disappeared in the night. A fox? A raccoon? That persistent skunk? We'll never know. The two that were left thrived. Coincidentally, they both looked exactly the same, and both looked exactly like their mother. We called them Puss and Boots.
Sticker raised them wild as she was, but they would play on our doorstep. Being pregnant with my first son, we planned to move out of the apartment, but couldn't face leaving the kittens there to suffer the fate of their mother; stray, wild cats fighting for bare survival. We determined to keep the kittens at least. We knew we'd never catch Sticker. When the day came to move, the kittens were about 2 months old. Boots was feisty, Puss was more reserved. Neither would let us touch them. So I snuck up behind Boots as she sat upright on the doorstep facing away from the apartment, and grabbed her by the scruff of the neck. She about flipped out. Her four legs splayed out, her fur bristled, and she got a wide-eyed stare she never really lost. (I partly blame the shock of my grab for her later-developed psychosis. She really became insane little by little, and finally she was so bad we had to put her to sleep when she was about 3. It was sad. I know it couldn't have been just the shock, she probably was a little "off" anyway, but I felt bad.) In order to get Puss, who had retreated into a hole under the step, we had to push him out with a broomstick, with him desperately trying to fix his claws into the dirt to hold himself there. Poor guy.
So we brought the twins to our new house in the country, and they did learn to trust us, and became fast friends with each other and Veda. Veda became their substitute mother; she was a very motherly cat. (For some reason, all the pictures of Boots I have are still on film, not scanned into the computer. I will have to find some and scan them so you can see them together.) The rest was. . . .yadda yadda. That's long enough to bore you with my cat saga. But I will leave you with one more image, one of my favorites. . . .
Wild cats always make me sad. I know some are born and raised in the wild, but others are just abandoned house cats. The daughter of one of the neighbours was feeding one a couple of years ago. She would put cat food on a spoon and the cat would come up and eat off the spoon. This was not a feral cat. She wanted to keep it, but her parents wouldn't allow it. I found out recently that one of the other neighbours eventually took it in. Our two were born in the wild, but I believe the mother was killed (or someone took the kittens away very early). They were bottle fed, and only Shadow shows a little of his wild roots.
We actually have a wild cat that roams our (and out neighbors) backyard. He seems pretty tame, and looks like he's in good shape. We've got plenty of woods in our area despite being in the suburbs. I'd swear that he was a house cat except that I know he isn't.
LL, is the cat in your avatar Puss? Do you have any cats now?
It is Puss. Isn't he just the prettiest cat ever? He was such a loving cat, although always really skittish with anyone other than immediate family. Probably a remnant of his wild birth instincts. When I met my current DH, it took almost a year before Puss would trust him enough to let himself be patted.
Unfortunately no cats now; I live in an apartment that wants $35 extra a month per cat. Also I live a very busy life, and want to be able to go on vacation and not have to worry about cats. I miss them, though. Especially weekend mornings when we drink coffee in bed, and Puss used to snuggle up between us.

They can. It was heartbreaking when I had to put each of them to sleep, but at some point it is the humane thing. But I had a lot of good years with my kitties.
I just adore the pictures of your kitties. It's unfortunate that they're no longer with you, but you have lots of good memories with them.
My cat doesn't like to snuggle with me in bed - he's usually not very affectionate at night. But I love cuddling with him in the morning. That puts me in a great mood.
And Veda was cross-eyed. She had blue eyes, but she had a look like she was just one short of a six pack. Once she was sitting on the driveway and two young girls walked by and saw her, and one of them said "Look! It's a cross-eyed cat!" Poor Veda. She was sweet, though.
I'll show you a picture of the dog I had; how about that?

Had involuntarily taken a whole week off since last workout, due to the busy week I had. This workout felt really weak. I think it's the first time I didn't up any weights at all, for any exercise or set. Usually I can up at least one thing. These weights felt like a struggle, even though they are the weights I ended with last time I did workout A. The exception was the Woodchop, which I forgot to write down my last time weight, but I think I lowered it, slightly due to a conversation I had in the training log about training the core with heavy weights, and will it make my waist bigger. There's some opinion that it will, especially obliques. Since the last thing I need is a thicker waist, I decided to take it easy on oblique exercises. This could be unfounded, but. . . .
Very sore this morning, especially in the neck/shoulders/traps. Maybe due to the snatch and DB press?
My mom takes care of the wild cats around where she lives. She is a truck driver and when she is gone, she actually hires someone to come over and put out food for the strays. One stray cat had an eye tumor, and she was able to catch him and take him to the vet.
She has 3 cats that she takes on the truck with her. One she has taught to do tricks such as roll over and shake hands and go get the bird (fetch). She is a die hard cat person.
When I was a teenager we found a half starved cat and brought it home. It was so affectionate. I was a sleep and woke up to kittens on my feet (ewww). She actually had the kittens on my feet while I was asleep. Though it was kind of gross, it made me feel like she saw me as a safe place. I guess when you have almost died and someone takes you in and takes care of you, they are your safe places.

Peaches, I think Puss was like your mommy cat who trusted you enough to have kittens on your bed. I was the one who "saved" him, and I was the constant in his life always, when others were there and gone, so I was really the only one he trusted completely. He learned to accept the boys, and he ended up trusting my husband mostly, but others, no way; anyone new and he was off like a shot to hide.
That's such a great story about your mom's trucker cats! I had a purebred Siamese cat once, named Spink, (just as an aside, can anyone figure out where her name came from?) and at the time I was sort of a hippie, with a Volkswagon camper, traveling the country, and she traveled with me. She learned to follow me when I hiked, and once she hiked a nine mile trail in Boulder with me. She was cool. One night I was camped at a rest stop on the highway, and I always left the van door open a slight bit for her to go out and roam, and someone stole her in the night. It was horrible. I was so devastated. I still wonder what happened to her, and hope she wasn't mistreated.
My mom found 2 of her cats when their truck broke down. It was freezing cold and they heard little meows off the side of the road. She had to go check it out and she found 2 little baby kittens. She knew if they left them, they would die. So she brought them into the truck. Her other cat was so mad that she peed on her and my dad's cloths for a month.
I can't believe someone would steal a cat. That is horrible. Don't they understand that it is like taking someone's child? Maybe your cat got out and they thought it was a dumped cat and they were cat lovers that just couldn't let it be abandoned.

I hope that's the case. My fear is that since she was an obvious purebred, and beautiful, someone wanted to breed her for money. But I had her spayed, so if that was the motivation, they would have been disappointed.
I found some kitten pics of both Puss and Boots. Will try to get my scanner working later today.
Siamese Cats are worth a lot of money. The positive thing is that the only motivation for stealing a cat like that, is to sell it (or breed it) and in both cases they would be taken care of.
I know that is sad though

Continuation of my photo album (Sorry about the bad quality; these are scanned prints that have been knocking around the house, fridge, and photo albums for years.)
Puss 'N' Boots:
Veda, Puss, and Boots:
Veda was very lovey. . .
Even with my son:
However, Puss and Boots saw him as some sort of large rodent to be approached warily:
And, yes, I did once have a dog, Zipper:
Zipper and Veda got along famously:
As did my sons and Veda:
Puss was just lazy:
Yes, that was my 14 pound bag of Twizzlers; you got a problem with that???
End of boring family slide show. . . . .I'll have to start posting some workouts again at some point.
What adorable photos, and what memories they must bring back! They make me miss my own long-gone companions very much when I look at yours. But unlike you, we still have many animal friends including 6 cats and 4 dogs. who keep us busy.
