Default Clothing OPTional--90% More Salacious!

Okay, so the really long winded version of my intro is here.

For those of you who want the Cliffs Note version so as to prevent your eyes from bleeding (and my thanks to those who slogged through the long version anyway), here 'tis.

I'm starting Leigh Peele's OPT for Fat Loss on Monday. I was a fat child, though I currently weigh less than I did in 7th grade. I'd like to get down to 18-20%. Not sure what my "goal weight" really is since I've never been there as an adult. I like the Jessica Biel look, but sadly at my goal BF percent I may look more like Kate Hudson, Gwyneth Paltrow, or someone else rather devoid of muscle, as currently my body type is that of marshmallow center with toothpick limbs. So after achieving desired body fat, I'll likely start building LBM, but one step at a time.

Ultimate goal is to look hawt naked, hence the log title.

Underate for around twoish years. Really started addressing that for the first time this year, due mostly to Leigh's Fat Loss Troubleshoot. This week I've been eating above maintenance to try to get my metabolism revved and ready for the deficit I'm going to spring upon it. Mwa ha ha!

For those who may've noticed I started this log just a day after my old log, here's a choose-your-own answer dealio about my motivations in doing so.

A) I have commitment phobia.
B) I'm not above using a titillating title to pimp my log.
C) The devil made me do it.
D) I needed a reason to use the word "salacious."
E) None of the above.
F) All of the above.

Measurements and all that coming this weekend, probably.

Ok - subscribed to this one now. (Though you do realize the mods can change the log title for you...)

I started it on Word Press then switched to Blogger since I could fiddle with the template for free. Posted to it once and it has languished since. If I get to posting regularly I'll probably link it in my sig.

Default Think I may've screwed up the concept of eating over maintenance...

I'm three days away from beginning OPT. Plan for this week was to eat over maintenance to rev up the metabolism I weigh every morning (and here's the salacious bit) naked, and my weight has been 152.2 every. Single. Friggin. Morning.

GWF puts my maintenance average at 2500-2550. I've been eating 2650; little over that on Sunday and Tuesday, when I polished off a slice of lemon raspberry cream cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory (1/2 slice Sun and the rest on Tues).

I plan to stuff myself with pizza tonight. We shall see.

Hey chickie! I also followed the pack onto JP, and am glad to see you here. Anyway, did you stuff yourself silly with pizza last night? I'm planning to carbo-load with some Hoegaarden beer later on.

Default Babbling and then stats

Glad you made it over! If you start a log over here, do please put the link in your sig or post over in the FLTS board. Etana started a thread for us to post our logs.

I guess I'd say I semi-stuffed with pizza. The place (BJ's, they're a chain out here in CO but not sure how widespread they are aside from that) offered freebie mini slices while waiting, so I had one of those, but then I had just a half of the "individual" pizza. I asked for a small which I thought was the 10" (planned to nom on it today, which I did, but there was less to nom on) but they gave me the smaller size instead. Still, I think I came out at about 2800 cals for Friday.

And I remembered that as last week's weight was from TOM, that I didn't drop at all after that probably means I have indeed been eating above maintenance like a good girl. I get a gold star.

Anyway, I said I'd provide measurements this weekend, so here they are, along with other basic stats:

F (as if that wasn't obvious already)
27
5'8.5" stocking feet (off topic: Why is it always called "stocking feet"? During summer in particular I'm anti-sock, let alone stocking, so that's really bare feet)
152.2 lb

Neck: 11.75"
Bust: 37.5
Under bust: 33.5
Waist: 31 (I hang my head in shame)
Abdomen (around belly button level): 37 3/8 (Why, God, why?*)
Hips: 40 5/8
R bicep: 10.5
R thigh: 22.5
R calf: 14

BF guesstimate: Region of 30-32, maybe. I'm horribly inconsistent measuring with my so-called AccuMeasure calipers, and again since my body type is marshmallow center with toothpick limbs, I think that makes things all the more difficult to figure out.

Inclination toward parenthetical statements: High

I'm also tracking progress with pictures, but probably won't post those. Unless my changes are so drastic I can pretend my "before" photos were really of someone else with my head grafted on.

Er, photoshopped on, I mean. Because if someone actually grafted my head onto someone else's body and then returned it to my own, that would just be gross and probably cause a good deal of brain damage.

*I am perfectly aware that the answer to that is "because you ate too much and moved too little." But allow me my dramatics, please. Have to entertain myself somehow!

Teehee, I feel you on the parentheses, but I'm glad you've also gone the extra mile and added footnotes

Did you once write over on FLzine that you want to be a writer? Was that you? It could have been you! very funny log. Glad we're doing OPT together; I'll be beginning week 6 tomorrow.

Back when I blogged regularly (one of those say-whatever-things without a true platform) footnotes were a mainstay. I'm rather fond of the little buggers.

Yes, 'twas I. Haven't been writing much fiction; like I said over at FLzine, I've accepted that fat loss is my priority right now.

Nearly halfway through, Etana! I'm glad you've decided to stick with it at Leigh wrote it. Your idea of picking the lower end of the activity calculator seems like a good one.

No you definitely want to keep the mace handy. I never said what type of friends we would be. Some of us are the sleep on your couch for a week and forget to flush the toilet house guest type of friends.

I meant to post all this yesterday, but then saw a movie (The Brothers Bloom for those who like frivolous details), and that cut into my free time. So now I'm posting from work.

Anyway, weight update: pizza finally kicked in; weight was up to 153.8 Sunday morning. Then this morning it was down to 153.2. Using the latter number, that meant that during my MRM-style rest/refeed period, I gained a total of 2.6 lbs.

Deficit info: I picked 2500 cals as my maintenance number. GWF has me averaging 2588, but since I think I may have cut DDR down some during OPT, I picked the lower number. Which is still higher than the 2400 I got from Leigh's activity calculator--but that number was also pre-DDR.

So with a deficit of 35%, my calorie goal is 1625. Protein/carb/fat should be 40%/35%/25%, or 163g/142g/45g.

My GoWear Fit listed my actual sleep for last night as 6 hours 50 minutes, which is my record by 3 minutes. Honestly, I don't think I need as much sleep as the average person--back in college, if I was on a set schedule I just naturally slept about 7 hours and woke feeling refreshed. But of course I didn't wake as much during the night as I tend to now, and I'm sure I didn't have nearly as many nights of 5 hours and 45 minutes or 5 hours and 15 minutes.

Did have an interesting dream, though. Robots that looked like humans were trying to take over the world (stop me if you've heard this before) and rounded us up into these plexiglas-type rooms where they were ostensibly caring for our sickly race. But we humans knew what was really going on, particularly since we'd just been fleeing some sort of miasma emitted from the robots that was capable of converting the robots that were still our friends into the anti-human robots.

Then, in terms of the plexiglas rooms, there was something about the doors to the showers not closing entirely and subsequent spying issues by pervvy robots. My subconscious also shoved in some Suvivor-inspired thing where certain blocks of the plexiglas rooms got to "vote out" humans from other blocks of plexiglas rooms.

Yeah. Can't wait to see what sort of dreams I have when the deficit really kicks in.

I've been sleeping horribly for the past two weeks, waking up in the middle of absurd dreams two or three times a night. Bizarre nights filled holograms, rollerblading rinks, paracommando's out to kill me, and very undesirable sexual pairings. Sleeping pills are starting to sound less and less bad

Just how far does that tolerance of/appreciation for frivolity go? Can I get out my white muslin gown, put flowers in my hair, and prance around a maypole?

So long as you can substantiate your 90% claim.

Okay, the video is hypothetical anyway, but if I did have such a video and posted it, it'd probably make its way onto YouTube and elicit such a wave of derision and subsequent embarrassment for yours truly that even the Star Wars Kid would cringe and mutter about "That poor girl."

Since the nonexistent maypole video is out, how about I stick to relating my bizarre dreams? I had one a couple of weeks ago where, as a favor to a friend's father, I somehow traveled to Mars to collect some its atmosphere to make a tasty ice cream topping. While collecting atmosphere, I realized that I was more drawn to Saturn than any other planet, which in turn meant that I was meant to be its immortal "guardian." From there I became engaged to the guardian of Neptune, I think it was. There were announcements and everything.

Can't remember what I ate the night before that particular doozy, but last night it was turkey bacon, Greek yogurt, protein powder, then bread pudding and agave nectar vanilla ice cream. (Hey, it was my last day pre-deficit. I was trying to get rid of a few things and also felt too lazy to cook.)

I'm pretty sure it's going to be some combination of the Greek yogurt and agave nectar vanilla ice cream. Those don't sound like foods that normally appear in the same sentence very often so therefore don't appear in the stomach very often at the same time. When they do hilarity is sure to ensue.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

That's an excellent idea! When I was younger, I used to keep a dream journal. I'll have to see if I can dig it up.

Must think of clever names. Red Planet Raspberry is all that comes to mind, and I'm quite sure the dream ice cream topping didn't taste like raspberries. Ah well.

Yes, but the Mars ice cream topping dream was before I made the agave nectar vanilla ice cream. Then again, I didn't eat the ice cream last night, so maybe you're on to something!

Morning weigh-in: 153.2

Sleep: 6 hours 39 min--actually more than I expected, though my GWF did pick up my 2am pee trip and the 3am wake up due to hunger pangs, so maybe it's accurate...

No crazy dreams though, sorry.

Monday, June 8 stats
Food
Cals burned: 2733
Cals eaten: 1572 (160p/136c/47.5f*)
Deficit: 1161

Activity
2 15 min walks at work
OPT Weeks 1-3 program A1--didn't bring my log, so I'm sticking in random notes.
  • DB dead lifts--increase DBs from 12.5 to 15
  • Swiss ball flys--sadly, will have to decrease DB weight from 10lbs to 7.5. Could definitely tell I wasn't doing full ROM and I think my form was pretty crappy.
  • Neutral grip shoulder press--increase from 10 to 12.5
  • Swiss ball bridge--ah, fond memories of when my workplace had an actual Pilates instructor coming in. Not bad, but need to work a little on stabilization. Curse my tendency for feet sweat!
  • Low to high woodchops--Etana, I see why you like these! I just like feeling my muscles move and work together to complete the movement. Did emphasize some asymmetry, though--left side seems stronger than right. Still, think I can increase to 15lbs for both, though last time I did woodchops it seems like I had to decrease from 15 to 12.5. Hmm.
  • Planks--no, singing "I'm Henry the Eighth I Am" in my head does not make the time pass any faster. 70/62/60, which is better, I think, than the last time I did three sets of planks.
1/2 hour DDR--Okay, so it's really more activity than OPT calls for. But I like it! It's fun! However, in the back of my mind is still "I'm burning more calories," so I think I'm going to have to watch my deficit, watch the scale, and especially watch my periods of lifting heavy things. I'll cut back if my deficit gets too big and/or I drop weight too fast, or if the lifting of heavy things gets difficult.

All in all, not a bad first day.

*Look Jules, a footnote! Fat may actually be a bit off--I guesstimated 2.5g olive oil for my olive oil cooking spray. If anything though, I think that may be a little high.)
