Well, I wouldn't say it turned me on, but I'm kind of looking forward to a future semester where we get to use the 3DPrinter. The only prototyping I've been involved with would never have been called rapid.

Fitting into the skinny pants is always a great thing. I fit into my formerly-really tight suit the other day just fine - that was awesome, because I was afraid I was gonna burst its seams, or something.

It definitely is not something to be discounted! Yay for skinny pants!

Nice work on the pants.

I always wondered why I held onto old clothes that are over 8 years old...but when you fit into them again, its like getting free clothes!

Food. Went out for lunch today. Going out for lunch is a big thing in Belgium, some weeks I go out for lunch three times a week. My strategy is to pick the thing that has the most identifiable ingredients. Soup is bad because you have no idea what they tossed in there: butter, flour, cream etc. Much better to have a sandwich or omelette so you can make a decent estimation of what you ate. Salads are good too (if you're not strapped for cash - which you tend to be if you go out for lunch three times a week .

Today I thought "ground beef dish, how bad can it be?". It was two inches of cheese sauce bad. I think my entire daily intake was in that foul tasting dish

Activity: 40mins walk, mobility work, cobras, supine bridges

Also, here's a silly picture of me and pips I found today.

As you can see Pips is in her blue phase and I am in my drunk phase. Gotta get me some of that after finals (the drinks, that is. I've had my blue phase already, and I don't think my coworkers would appreciate it much).

meh, I hate it when that happens!

I don't see any blue though... blue doesn't tend to stick so much, and it doesn't really show on dark hair I've decided not to go regular blue any more, but I'll try cyan/smurf blue, that's a lot lighter. First pink again though.. after hairdresser tomorrow

You look really happy!

(not-so) Quick Q : where would you want to spend a week in July?
My dear partner just mailed me his holiday weeks and asked me to book a holiday as we are the eternal postponers.. that is, we just won't go if we haven't booked anything. Original plan was to drive to Austria and spend 2 weeks total driving and walking in the country side.
However.. if we book a city holiday sounds nicer.. where to go , where to go?

Brussels is off sorry, too boring esp for 1 week. Was thinking Vienna & Budapest perhaps? Budapest since a friend lives close to it (so not Prague & BP is closer).
Rome would be totally too hot in July, right? The plus side is that I've already got 1-2 guides .. we planned to go but never went...

An organized bus tour would make it possible to see a LOT in a short time but.. but aren't we too young and smart to do this? Esp if you've been a guerilla camper yourself?
Come one.. help me out!

July is a horrible time to go anywhere, and one week is not very long at all! We're probably driving down to Spain in september or october. Anyhow, my picks would be:
  • Flight to Ireland or Schotland, seeing a city there and going for some extended walking or cycling trips, won't be too hot or touristy.
  • Flight to the Cyprus for some quality walking/cycling. Not too hot because of all the water.
  • Drive to Denmark (not too big a drive), visit Copenhagen, take a ferry to Norway or Sweden, do some nice walking there.
  • Best cities to citytrip: Berlin (!), Prague, Barcelona (so I hear), Rome. I thought Vienna was nice, and Budapest a bit depressing (ex-communist countries have that sad vibe that makes me sad too). Though Caïro and Istanbul aren't that far off either!
And don't do a stupid bus tour, just book a flight and a hotel (at least for the first night) and take off! I'm jealous already

Prague was wonderful.. best part was that I spent time here with locals that showed us around.

Fly to Ireland & cycle/walk around does sound lovely. Trouble is that I would like to take our Bromptons there but am really afraid of flying.. not for me but for the bicycles to get damaged.
And somehow I really did suddenly think about a mini-cruise... again, with a car Copenhagen wouldn't be nice but with a bicycle it would be neat.

Can't go outside the summer holiday season for 2 reasons
- it is slow season for my webshop which means that not many impatient people will be waiting
- am doing a course that gives us only time in the summer holiday.

But really... even without a bicycle Dublin might be neat.. have been in Ireland but never in Dublin. Or maybe another big Irish city?

Barcelona is the most bike-friendly city I've ever seen! And this comes from a Dutchie...

Since my former cycling buddy adored Barcelona a LOT and also disliked bike paths as much as I do, Barcelona can't have a whole lot of bike paths.. which is a good thing in my eyes.
Grrr.. don't know, it even could be we just do a fly-hotel holiday (what's very cheap mostly), we've not been away in 2 years which includes simple weekend city trips!!!

Lotta pressure on one trip there! Just pick one, and resolve to go on more holidays in the future

Yep.. that really is the best approach.

We'll just look at city trips then unless something smashing comes by.. will book in a regular shop (not webshop) if we can.

Any one of those options has to be a thousand times better than Tyler, Texas!

And nice pic of you and Pips, Jules! How recent is it?

Still not done?

SO warmed to the idea of Ireland.. and he's not even a beer drinker : still need to see him drink his first can of beer outside malt beer as a PWO drink, or a cup of coffee for that matter.... he's the one that eats muscle (treacle) cookies & Quark

Last night I binged! I bunged! Bad lunches always get to me. I fell into the peanut butter jar and the chocolate spread jar simulateously! And then crossed my personal official binge line: the point where I think.. 'Hmms peanut butter by itself isn't sweet enough, it needs some sugar!"

I didn't freak out (what am I, fourteen?), just skipped the potatoes at dinner, and did some more chores that evening. I did step on the scales this morning, and then decided I didn't step on the scales this morning after all (fifteen, at least!)

6 more days till maintenance! Here's hoping I can get some mileage out of them

PB is too sweet already.. try Surinam pb.. that's the bestest!
But then again, I don't eat bread.. just put it on eggs & chicken.

Hey don't worry.. and I don't think it was a binge , just overeating.. binge is about losing total control about your intake. This still sounds pretty 'thoughtful' to me.

As for Ireland.. SO said he liked going there because of the dwarfs.. man do I ever have a romantic guy or what . Hopefully he's not going to be disappointed.. what's the most romantic part of Ireland anyway?

Yeah, it wasn't too bad, just a bit too much. I don't know about the most romantic spot in Ireland, I've never been there Dublin sounds great, so if you can find 2 or 3 walks in the surrounding area, you'd be set, I think! And if he drinks enough beer, I'm sure your hubby can find some dwarfs

So if you binge on non-carbs, do you still bloat?

Not as much, unless it is *that* time of the month when you're going to bloat regardless of how much you eat.. That time is both ovulation & right before Aunt Flo visits.
Took me eons to figure out both.. the first is not so obvious when you aren't temping , the 2nd one can also be due to overeating.

As for MrEspi, he doesn't need to drink to see dwarfs.. outside wine which he drinks for health reasons he doesn't drink alcohol, ever.

Stage 5
4x4 rocks! It's a whole other ball game. I'm not tired at all, but all my muscles are screaming for mercy. And my hands! My poor calloused hands.. At four reps and 2 mins rest between sets, you're not going to pick the light weight, no, you're going to make it damm well count, very much. It felt really kickass to lift such high weights (and fortunately none of them fell on my head).

1armed snatch: 14kg/16kg/16kg/16kg
Hell yeah!! The 16kg snatches require some precision, I need two hands to get the weight down without it crushing my shoulder.
BOR: 35kg/40kg/40kg/40kg
Did these as single sets because someone was waiting to use the squat rack. After three sets my entire upper arm got the shakes and I had to stop (and come back later)
SLRDL: 12kg/14kg/16kg/16kg
Fun fun fun!
DB incline benchpress: 14kg/14kg/14kg/14kg
What the hell? Like a good bro I was looking forward to having a huge increase on my press, and today I had trouble with the weight I normally use for 6 reps. Gah
Strange squat thing: 14kg/14kg/16kg/16kg
Rev. chopchop: 12,5kg/13,5kg/13,5kg
Plank: 120 secs

Hell yeah! Did the matrix a while after my workout.I am loving this! Whoo-hoo!

Staying at home is better than Tyler. You head an hour down 59 and go to SFA. I could always use more pictures of the campus. Of course the bustling metropolis of Shreveport isn't that far away. A little North Louisiana gambling maybe?

All in all, I'd still rather be at home.

Jules, I love your technically precise terminology.

Congrats on a super workout! (And you know I'm serious because I generally don't like "super" as an adjective.)

Yes, the sacrifices I make to see my grandmother.

But then again, my mom wants me to bring my Wii so she can try out DDR. Seeing pretty much any of my family members doing DDR should be worth some amusement. (I love them all, truly, but alas; we are an uncoordinated people.)
