Warmup: 5 min. treadmill, arm cirlcles forward and backwards, and wall pushups.
Super Set/Full Rest
Chin-up --- Did underhand lat pulldowns 6@85#, 1@ 120#, 6@ 100#, tried 1 @ 140 but failed so did another 1@120, 12 @ 70#
For some bizarro reason I did a set of DB bench 6 @40s#
Then I realized that I was suppose to do BB shoulder press (I had never done this lift before so I had no idea what to lift)
6@45#, 1@ 65#, 6@ 65#, Tried 1 @ 95# but failed so did 1@ 75#,
10@ 65#
Went to the gun range and threw lead down the lane for about an hour. Amongst others I shot my new Kel-Tec. Since it was new, it was really hard for me to rack. Believe it or not, I feel wore out. I was suppose to do an upper body workout tonight, but I don't know if I am up to it.
That's it, we all gotta go to a shooting range together one of these days, LOL. I remember the last time I practiced shooting, I spent over an hour firing a 9mm and that really tired me out. My grip, in particular, was iffy the next day. So that means I should work harder on improving grip strength.
I think warrior training classes should be mandatory for Girl's P.E.
That is the thought that struck me reading your log. Well, not all of it. Anyway, hi. : )
I think that is a great idea. Not that you want girls going around thinking they are some fem fatal, but they don't need to think being weak is a good thing.

Then you say something like THIS and I remember. . . .
You know when I was doing them, I thought that if I had a book to read I would do them longer. I just get bored being all still in one place.

Major badass. That is so cool. I always wanted to play football. I not very big or very fast though. And the fact that I am an old lady wouldn't help either. But I was at the post office a few years back and started talking to the woman in front of me, she played semi pro female football. She was in great shape. She told me that I should try out, if nothing else just to say that I did.
Now I know what kind of shape you must be in. Wow!!!

Well, as it gets broken in it will be easier to rack. It is still very stiff. But yeah, shooting is more of a workout than you think it is. If it wasn't so expensive I would go more often. Between range fees and the outrageous ammo prices, it is an expensive hobby.

The guy that I asked to spot me on my bench was doing high reps low weight. He asked me if I wanted to bulk up or if I was wanting to tone. I told him that I was wanting to have fun and that at 40 odd years old, my looks were fading and I could do whatever I wanted with my body.
I knew he was going to suggest that I do more reps. After lifting the 120, he told me that instead of just doing it once, I should have seen how many I could do. He was a nice guy and the only guy in the gym --- thus the only one that could spot me. So I explained that I was following a specific program and was sticking to it.

Thanks. I saw that you are moving right into Strength 2 and take 2 weeks off later.
I have been tossing around in my head to do Hypertrophy 2 and then do Strength 2, instead of following the program as written. Then I think that it is working so well, why mess with it
Thanks for reading

I think you're doing great with all of it. I can't say I hate planks like other people do, but I can only do 90 sec's so far. You're definitely doing something right!

Thanks, I have been really happy with my progress. I feel like I have gained more quickly since starting NROL than I did in the last few years of lifting. I'm not for sure how much starting my thyroid medication had to do with it. Either way --- I'm so excited. Now I am looking forward to 135#. I hope that I have my weight back down there about the same time --- so I am lifting my weight.
Well, today I hurt someone's knee in my martial arts class. I feel sick about it. It seems like I hurt this person alot, and I really like them. I have given him a bloody nose, a busted lip and now he had to hobble out because I hurt his knee.

You brute!
Just kidding... as my Sensei always says, "it's a contact sport". Hope your friend's ok...
I have now been going to WW for 7 weeks and have lost 3#. Not that I am unhappy with the weight that I have lost. But I know that I won't keep this rate up. I have been intrigued with BFFM for sometime, but I hate the fact it is an ebook.

Noir films were made in the 1940's time period. Some you might recognize would be The Maltese Falcon, Double Indemnity, The Big Sleep, Laura. Many of these movies were based on pulp fiction books and featured the hard-boiled detective and a femme fatale. There are many characteristics present in a noir film (low lighting, darkness, sharp camera angles, and shadows). It's a really fascinating genre to study. I did my presentation on a film called Criss Cross. Here's a good site if you want to learn more about noir.

What?!? A trip to the gun range. Count me in. I am the only female competitive shooter in my area. I am also a certified Range Officer. I shoot competition at least once a month. The gym and the range are the two things that allow me to retain what little sanity I have left.

That is so cool. I am not good enough for competition. I can put them all inside the 9 ring at self defense distance. But the guns I usually shoot have short barrels and are meant for short distance. Unfortunately, I am not much better with a longer barrel. I really want to practice and get better.
In the last week, I have been thinking about looking into getting my youngest son involved in competitive shooting. He doesn't have great form, but he is a natural. I might do it too, just because it would be fun, and encourage me to put in my practice time.
How do you get involved in competitive shooting? Any advice?
Gym, gun range and martial arts --- make life a happy life
What do you shoot? Besides my self defense guns (Ruger LCP and Kel-Tec P11), I also love to shoot my Beretta XP4 Storm 9mm. I like to say that shooting it is like having sex --- fun, feels good and want to do it as much as possible. (Hope that wasn't too vulgar)
I am catching up on you training log now. I saw that you also bow hunt. I never hunted but in Jr High I use to like to do bow practice. Too bad we don't live near each other --- we could have a jolly ole time.

Hi! I've been perusing your log and, dang, you are strong! Reading about martial arts makes me miss the class I took growing up. Such a cool thing to do.

I have been thinking lately that I need a 'class' of some sort. I just don't know what kind it would be.
I am pretty sure they would work with it at work, but I just don't know what I would be interested in.
Sounds silly but I think I would like to take an adult clogging class
