the pictures of me floating around from the summit are not flattering, and it's not because of the hair. the tire around my midsection has appeared, and apparently it's taken photographic evidence for me to realize it.
with the help of the Babymaker, I did a god job of cutting down weight from February to mid-April, and was doing well, but started to eat ice cream and fun stuff again--in greater quantities--and therefore started to putting on the pounds.
so yes, it's time to get rid of this midsection--for the umpteenth time--but I also need to start feeling better. there's no excuse for gimping around all weekend just because I ran four 30 yard sprints with no warmup on Thursday night.
I also am on track to get my CSCS fairly soon, at least if I can keep my rear end in the study gear. I thought I had a good handle on the material, but a practice test a few weeks ago showed me that no, I wasn't ready for the type of questions on the test.
I know what I want and need to do, I just need to do it. I've had results before--I got the leanest I'd ever been two summers ago--but since then have slowly put the weight back on. I'm not close to where I was before I did the three NROL fat loss phases, but I'm sure closer than I want to be.
this is probably too much info, so I'll wrap it up. I'm going for improved body composition, better lower body mobility/flexibility and and some semblance of cardiovascular fitness. and away we go...

Chinups
3x5
Starting the Cosgrove chin-up program that I got from John a while back. Had gotten close to the finish before, but not all the way through. The program starts with a week of 5x5, so I'm adding three workouts (3x5, 4x5, 5x5) before the true beginning because if I started the declining rest periods phase now, I'd stall out before week three.
Bench Press
3x10 @ 135
Done as fast as possible...
20 minutes of lower body stretching/mobility.
Neglected my drills and stretches over the weekend and I felt so bound up that these were a priority over anything else.
Pushing and leg movements are going to take a backseat to the chinup program, because going too hard on other movements was what stalled me out last time. I'd like to be doing 8 sets of 10 chinups by the end of July.

Good luck man. Not that you need it. You know what to do and WANT to do it, so get it done.

it is also because of the hair. I mean, don't discredit the hair here, dude.
The hair has good days and bad days. If I could wear a hat every day, I'd be happy. Still don't want to get it cut though. I'll see how long I can wait.

As an overall site challenge? Or just a little mini one? I'm up for whatever. Some Memorial to Labor Day thing would work for me.

With how quickly he presented in 2007, it would be an apt title... (although I don't think he hugged anyone...)

Thanks. And I'm not posting the before pictures. Maybe when all is said and done, but not right now.

Open to all comers... Memorial Day to Labor Day works for me
Winner based on
1) visual changes in pictures (must take pictures on first day and last)
2) measurement changes (must take pictures on first day and last)
Open voting to forum members
Optional:
$10(or $20) entry fee - Payout 1st place (50%), 2nd Place (30%) and 3rd place (20%)
Good job starting the log mate, I too realised that I needed picture proof. That pic we looked at on Sunday night (of Lou, you and I at the hotel) hit home big style; I look like a fucking whale.
Lets get a challenge going. I'm already in one but I can run this concurrently. As not to post the 'fatty' pictures before the change, as long as one is taken and posted at the end (with proof of date) it should work.

What do you think???
That would sort of favor the body comp slash bodybuilding types. What about those of us with simple performance goals?
(I kid. Goodness knows I could stand to focus on some body comp myself.)

I'll take fat pictures Monday. But by then I will have dropped my summit weight.

Had no thoughts of a challenge when I started, but I'm not going to turn it down. I'm 1-1, so I have to keep the 1.000 AVG intact.

Chinups
5, 5, 5, 3, 3
Well this isn't good. I figure if I don't get to 5x5 in three more workouts, I move onto something else. There's no point in dragging this out. I imagine that five or 10 lbs less would help immensely... (I should point out that if I cheated and didn't go all the way down to a hang I would get to 5x5 right now)
Standing Shoulder Press
3x10 @ 35 (EH)
Split Squats
2x8 @ 45 (EH)
*Planning* on attempting to do my first some sort of cardiovascular activity tomorrow. Going to buy a soccer ball tomorrow too. I'm too addicted not to take advantage of my backyard.
Time to stretch and play some video game soccer

Are there any local leagues you can sign up for, Nick. 5 a side is a killer but you'll drop weight like there's no tomorrow. Since my 11 a side days are behind me now, i'm thinking of getting into a 5 team.

There are local leagues everywhere, but 5s is a lot less common unless you find some indoor soccer or "in side" soccer(indoor without walls, futsal or something). 7s to 9s isn't that uncommon either though, espically in the summer. I just gave up soccer this year for rugby union. The unfortunate thing about rec league soccer in the states is that it is hard to find teams that are interested in praticing. Finding pickup is usually easy enough to do a few time a week, but pratice and drills don't happen.
Man U looked dead on the field yesterday. I was hoping for a better game, and expecting them to win handily.
