We had to let go a skunk once. Not on purpose though--it got stuck in an old milk can in the barn. It sounded like a crying baby. For real! Actually like a crying baby! Kinda creepy.

I've heard that skunks sound like that. We had a family of them outside the office/entrance of the park where I was working a baseball tournament this weekend. Thankfully no one got sprayed.

And Toby found a turtle yesterday morning. It just was walking up the path to the house, and he felt that we were being threatened by the vicious turtle, so he had to do his duty of barking up a storm.

It's usually an icebox because they have every fan on in the damn place, so I turn them off and it actually feels comfortable. Yesterday though, no fans were on and it was freezing. The fear of sweat that people have is astounding.

Tuesday July 7

Movement Prep

Shoulder, Hip, Core Prehab

3 mile run

Starting a modified 1/2 marathon training program for the Bourbon Chase. I figure that 13 at one time is *roughly* equivalent to 18 or so over three times in 12 hours. Once I get into the program, I don't think that I'm going to go for as many long (>7) runs and instead focus on the mileage in two increments to simulate the race experience. I'm looking forward to it and hope that I don't stupidly hurt myself. The program also only has you run 3 times a week, which fits in nicely with the ESD in Core Performance.

One knee on the floor, leg closest to the cable station out to the side. Row the weight into your chest and then overhead.

That's probably a horrible description, but they're easier to do than they look.
