Workout 2 Wk 3

foam rolling

mobility / activation

1a) plate squat: 3x12x15lbs
1b) incline push-up: 3x10

2a) low cable RDL: 3x10x80lbs
2b) db row:3x10x35lbs (heavy!)

3a) IYT 2x12
3b) plank 2x12x5sec

woohoo, done. Workouts are soo much more rewarding these days. Plus my body that has been pushed out of whack really feels better after some good programming!

You're doing so well... it took me years (literally) to work out after I had my kids!

I need to foam roll more...

Finished Wk 3 yesterday--no foam rolling though and I'm feeling it today

mobility / activation

1a) RDL: 2x10x105lbs, 10x115 (should've used 115 for all 3)
1b) cable push: 3x10x30lbs (probably too heavy)

2a) cable pull: 3x10x30lbs
2b) scaption: 3x10x12lbs

3a) prone row to external rotation: 2x12x5lbs
3b) side planks:2x12x5sec (wowza)

done. Sleepy baby as usual...I'm starting to expect this for every workout...I think it reminds her of her in-utero trips to the gym.

Thanks Jamie and Greg!

Oh, with nursing I think I'm the lucky one where it keeps me holding on to the last 10lbs only because it increases my appetite and I have zero willpower. But, maybe I have to give it another month or two to know for sure.

Week 4 Workout 1 (yesterday)

foam rolling / activation at home

mobility warm-up

1a) RDL 2x20x75lbs
1b) cable push 2x20x2(setting on different cable machine upstairs, lighter than other one, so not sure the weight comparison)
had to do this in straight sets as the cable machine was being hogged by other gym members :P

2a) cable pull: 2x20x3 (ditto comment above)
2b) scaption: 2x20x5lbs

3a) prone row to external rotation: 2x12x5lbs
3b) side plank:2x12x5secs

done! Baby was awake when I took dropped her off at daycare, but sleepy. She conveniently fell asleep during my workout and then woke up when I put her back in the car and rode home happily. I think she likes the gym!! Thank goodness!

oh, got my new program from Bill already so will be starting this weekend. Woohoo. Still one more workout left in this program.

Hi! You are doing an awesome job of getting right back into the swing of things after baby's arrival! I'm with Bytsi, it took me more like several years!

Looking forward to following your adventure!

yesterday's workout

foam rolling / mobility / activation

1a) Front Squat: 2x8x75lbs
1b) standing cable pull: 2x12x25lbs
My squat is ugly..shift to the right again Weight ok, supposed to leave 2 in the tank

2a) db step up: 2x8x20lbs
2b) incline push up: 2x10
left a bit more than 2 in the tank for step ups, but I really really hate these :P

3a) kneeling pnf d2 flexion 2x10x5lbs (min weight, cable would've been better, supposed to get 12 reps)
3b) plank 2x2x20secs

EST 10mins x elliptical, bike, treadmill (3.5mph @6incline worked for target HR of 140-160)

thought I'd go ahead and get in my 30 mins of EST while Ansley was sleeping at daycare. Was sore that afternoon, and a bit stiff now...will need some foam rolling for sure!

Oh, and I had a controlled portion of ice cream. Yay, wanted to go back for more, but didn't. Yay me :P

Sorry it took me so long to find your log. Nice work. And really nice work for staying away from the ice cream. I didn't do nearly as good of a job of it as you last night. I do have to say that chocolate sauce and strawberries are awesome though.

Keep up the good work.

Hi Gabe and Celestial Mom! Thanks for popping in!

I am doing better with ice cream portions, but still have to go a day without any treats if I'm going to make real progress!

yesterday's traumatic daycare workout
(ok not really traumatic, but it was hard for mommy--She slept in the car on the way there, but had started to stir when I dropped her off. I popped in after my warm-up to check up on her and I couldn't find her in her stroller. I then saw her in the daycare swing, happy, but alone and with spit up on her face. I wiped it off and she smiled and then I went on to finish my workout. It was so hard to leave her there swinging monotonously, not to mention that swing cover had probably been sneezed and spit up on by thousands of kids :O. So did my two weigh sets quickly and came back and she was on the floor, with the day care lady but crying. Poor baby. Don't think she had been crying long, but I felt bad for her. Fed her and she was happy. Surely it was harder on mommy than her, but oh me oh my. I much prefer it when she naps through my workouts.)

Last of week 1 - Strength 1

1a) RDL: 2x12x115lbs
1b) Standing cable push: 2x12x25lbs

2a)db row: 2x12x30lbs
2b) front to lateral raise: 2x12x10lbs

still owe Y's and side planks...rests were short

Yeah I agree...though no one takes care of baby like mommy does!

oooooh, glad you like the avi! She's much cuter on the outside than inside me while I'm squatting, huh?

A little slow on updating:

Sunday's workout (6/7/09)
Week 2 Strength 2

foam / mobility/activation

1a) Front Squat: 3x10x75lbs
1b) standing cable pull: 3x12x25lbs
squat I think was a little better...not 100% sure if I used 75 or 80lbs though.

2a) db step up: ex8x25lbs (oooooo )
2b) incline push up: 3x10
have I mentioned lately that I hate step-ups? Used a wee bit lower bench for sets 2&3

3a) kneeling pnf d2 flexion 2x10x5lbs (min weight, cable would've been better, supposed to get 12 reps)
3b) plank 2x2x20secs

Yesterday's workout (6/9/09)
foam at home / mobility

1a) RDL: 3x10x125lbs
1b) standing cable push:2x12x25lbs (went back to do the last set and someone had stolen my cable, so went on to next set and forgot to come back and finish)

2a) db row: 3x10x35lbs
2b) front to lateral raise: 3x12x12lbs ( a bit too heavy)

3a) low incline Y: 2x12
3b) side plank: 2x20sec

ansley was awake at the daycare, but I fed her after my warm-up so she was at least happy. I suggested they just leave her in her stroller cause it was cold in there and I figured she might fall asleep better that way (and there were lots of older kids). So she got rocked around in the stroller and napped for me on the way home

mobility warm-up / activation

1a) Front Sq: 1x8x75lbs, 2x8x80lbs
1b) incline push-up: 3x10

2a) db step up: 3x8x25lbs
2b) standing cable row: 3x10x30lbs

3a) pnf d2 kneeling flexion: 2x10x5lbs
3b) plank: 2x20secs

good week. Ansley slept again. I think she's liking this gym routine for the extra nap time.

next week will be EST at the beach. Wooohoo!

Great job getting back into it. I was the same way ... couldn't lose anything when nursing. After reading Leigh's stuff, a lightbulb went off ... yes, I was eating more, yes I was nursing ... but I was sitting around a lot ... my girls were long nursers and so I consequently was sitting around for a lot of time. Counterbalanced the extra calories I was burning by nursing!

Love the avi ... she is just beautiful! Did you ever think you could love someone so completely?!
