Default Off-road assault

Well, I stumbled upon this forum looking for tips on what I can do to strengthen my neck and prevent injuries. Here I am finding this log so I thought it might be good extra motivation to keep working out, keep posting and stay in the top page...

My goal for this year is to get in decent enough shape to survive the ORAMM (Off Road Assault on Mount Mitchell, in NC). It's a 60-mile mountain-bike ride / race with long fire road climbs and some fast fun descents. Beyond the distance and the climbing (~11000 feet), the NC July heat will take its toll on most riders.

I do mostly a lot of cardio on my Concept 2 rowing machine and get some saddle time when I can - either at nights during the week, or over the weekends.

If my neck doesn't let me down it should be fun!

April 1st
MTB - 1h, 8 miles, technical terrain.

That's enough hard workouts for this week. Thursday and Friday will be slow and easy, getting ready for a 6h race on Saturday...

I checked out your Rowing team's website. Am I correct that you start a new virtual season May 1st? If so that may be a good time to start logging there.

That sounds about right. I think it's based on the 'on-water' rowing season. It's coming from the C2 website though; Free Spirits Rowing have nothing to do with that.
