Default Word to your Mothra! P-Zilla's Log

Ok where do I start. I am about 265 lbs, at 6'1" at the ripe old age of 20! Not where I want to be but I am not a self conscious guy. I currently using NROL and plan to go through all 3 fat loss programs.

I completed the Break-In before discovering the forum. So now I will start logging my progress here.

Break-In really took a bit off of me. I was using Metabolic Overdrive with it after every workout and 2 or 3 extra cardio sessions during the week. My diet was not the cleanest in the world. But it could have been a lot worse, I suppose.

Anyway here is me at my heaviest probably 270+ not sure i promised myself I would not weigh myself.

Obviously the guy in the brown shirt.

here is more recent one at about 8-10lbs lighter.

Obviously on St. Patties Day.

Anyway

Fat Loss I started yesterday so here we go.
NROL Fat Loss I: March 25th 2009

Workout A-1

Super Set 1:

Squats

1 x 15 x 45
1 x 15 x 95
1 x 15 x 115

Seated Cable Rows

1 x 15 x 70
1 x 15 x 90
1 x 15 x 110

Super Set 2:

Supine Hip Extension

3 x 15 x BW

Dumbbell Push Press

3 x 15 x 20 (these kicked my ass for some reason)

Super Set 3:

Rotational Lunges (did not do them properly I dont have the coordination for them so I just skipped them and decided to practice them tonight at the gym)

Swiss Ball Crunch

1 x 20 x BW
1 x 20 x BW+25lb Plate
1 x 20 x BW+35lb Plate

20 Minutes of Metabolic Overdrive

Notes: I think it was a great workout felt like puking out the spaghetti I ate earlier that evening. So a sucess, excited to try out Workout B.

Ready to shred some weight off.

Oh and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestion for cardio on my off days. I am doing these workouts 3 times a week for six weeks and need some fat busting cardio for off days in between.

I like the title of your thread. I always liked Mothra. Good luck. I'm doing NROL too, so I'll follow your progress.

Hit it hard last day of the 3 round Metabolic Overdrive. Tommorow I move on to 4 rounds.

Running has never been an issue with me. I have the endurance of a bison running across the plains. But with the MOD i concentrate on intensity and speed instead of endurance.

I still weight 268... really got to tighten up on the diet.

I really am unsure if operating at a deficit and doing NROL is right for me right now. But I am going to finish Fat Loss I and see how I fare. Might try some of leigh's stuff after this.

I just basically want to be leaner, hairier, faster, and solid.

I really want to concentrate on good form through all this.

So. We will see how it goes.

Why would you not be sure? A gazillion people did NROL and had great success.

I see comments about not doing NROL or Turbulence Training or whatever program in a deficit and don't get it. I think I know what they mean, but they aren't saying it right.

You probably can't do NROL or TT in a 1000 calorie a day deficit and get away with it, but at your height, weight, etc, you can do 500 and be fine. That's about a 1lb a week lost.

Bottom line is that people who lose weight on NROL are always in a deficit. Always. They might not be in one based on some formula, but if they are losing weight, they are burning more than they take in. That's the definition of a deficit, and their formula was wrong. Most formulas are wrong, since they are just ways of estimating.

I know you stalled or didn't experience the rate of loss that you hoped, so drop calories a bit and keep on going.

I did TT (which is just about as demanding as NROL) and lost 1-2 a week on a decent deficit.

Have fun!

Been so busy this week!

Finally got to the gym today.

I dropped to 259 so I am doing something right. Even though I feel I am not getting nearly 250+ grams of protein. Still need to nail the diet to a cross.

Anyway. I didnt even attempt workout B and kind of did a warm up for kick starting this thing on thursday with workout B. The tiny gym was packed with lots of bros taking their sweet time looking in the mirror and drinking water. They always gank the squat cage for shoulder shrugs...

Anyway.

Busy Guy Pressed for time need to toss some iron after work Workout Z.

5 minute warm up on the treadmill

Squats:

1x15x105
1x15x105
1x10x115

I think I had AWESOME form on this. Felt super good to feel the squat clicking and really feeling natural.

Seated Cable Rows:

3x15x125

Felt kind of lazy and didnt up the weight. But concentrated on really flexing my arms and perfect form.

Dumbbell Push Press:

2x15x20
1x10x40 (whew!)

Swiss Ball Crunch

1x20xBW
1x20xBW+25
1x20xBW+35

5 minute cool down on treadmill.

Nothing crazy but I am finding out I hate listening to the groups of overly tanned bros in the gym.

Its all bench, tricep machine, and curls.

NOTHING ELSE and they just talk about the silliest crap.

Really missed my Ipod on this session.

Ok I have been neglecting this.

Been pretty productive muscle growth wise. Weight is staying solid at 260 but I feel smaller and my arms, back, and legs are definitely getting some definition to them.

Still got the gut, but it will melt away EVENTUALLY.

Anyway, I snagged a copy of the TNT diet, and I have to say I really enjoy it.

I paused the NROL Fat Loss I so I can use the TNT workouts for a bit.

I am just now going into the part where I move past the 2 set supersets and move to 4.

So.

Just checking in with you guys. Workout tommorow I will be sure to post.
