Default OPTing for reality

The reality in this situation is that I'm fat and need to do something about it. If you can't tell by the title the something I've chosen is Leigh Peele's OPT fat loss program, which has been sitting on my computer just waiting for me to get back from vacation and read it.
The next few days are going to be spent clearing the chocolate out of my house and coming up with some meal plans for the first four weeks. Oh and finding a foam roller, one of the few fitness gagets I haven't bought over the years

I'm 29yrs old and am a shift worker so I struggle with staying committed to following through with any program. Every other week I only have 10 hrs of the day to sleep, eat, cook, exercise, etc. Besides all the fun extras in life like golf league, rugby games, and teaching swimming.
My goal is just to finish the entire 12 weeks and enter this summer in better shape and a few pounds lighter well maybe 20 would be nice.

Every four weeks or so I'm going to take pics and measurements once I get started. Tracking food will probably be the hardest thing for me to do, I'm thinking of buying the daily plate program as I only have dial-up at home. I've figured out my cals and macros so now I just need to read through once more and make sure I'm not missing anything.

So I've had an exciting week of work and calorie tracking with my new program Cronometer. Easy enough to plug in my recommended 1500 cals and the macros, but trying to regulate my eating oy! Either I give up and have a cheat meal and end up at 2000 cals or its the end of the day and I'm still 300 cals and a lot of protein short of what I'm supposed to eat cause I'm scared to eat anything I don't know what the nutrients are. I'm also never above 70% my vitamins and minerals so I should start to take a multi again. I have done a few active things lately and next week will actually start the OPT.

Wow, do I know how to procrastinate! So its almost the end of March and what have I done, absolutely nothing. Or as damn close to it as you can get, I signed up for some 10km training group last week and couldn't make it and completely avoided doing the first week as its been non-stop snow and wind, and for the 2nd week of training I'm yet again at work and missing the group run. I need to pull up my socks and go run tonight, and may just for the hell of it, I'll figure out what to eat on OPT tomorrow.

Well I've made it through onto the 2nd week of running group and my nicotine cravings don't have me eating the entire fridge (almost, but there is still condiments left). I would like to start A1 tomorrow, but I would also like more then six hours sleep and have found a yamaha v-star 650 for only $5000 that I should go look at. More then likely procrastination will win the battle yet again, but I am still intermitantly trying to be motivated. I tend to overcomplicate things and just end up doing nothing because I'm scared I'm not going to do it right. Such as I would like to do OPT, but I also want to do the 10k training and race with my friends in May and maybe do a 21k in Aug that's on a mountain. There is no way that this fits in with the training at all and I waffle between not starting OPT till fall and just trying to eat normal for the summer of just throw some more calories in the OTP diet and hope running on it doesn't fuck me up/is possible without wanting to kill myself.
