Short and sweet this will mostly be an accountability log for my eating and a secondary purpose will be to encourage good activity levels. I think "eating for two" is such a blown out of proportion idea (at least in my own mind) that I need some help getting back on track. Eating for two doesn't give me a license to eat whatever I want.
So today, food:
1 sausage, egg and cheese kolache
1 italian chicken kolache
1 cup coffee with half and half
1 .5L bottle of water
3 donut holes
1 6in ww turkey Subway sandwich, TON o veggies, spicy mustard
small amount of chips
1 glass decaf tea
1 tortilla with turkey lunch meat, 1 slice cheese, dijon mustard
1 med scoop turkey meatloaf (w/ spinach and low sugar ketchup)
1 small scoop cabbage/ramen noodle salad with sun flower seeds
1 med scoop mashed potato
1 med scoop chocolate cake
2 .5L bottles of water
WOW! And now I see why I'm gaining weight. Tomorrow's a new day, right!?
Activity
Taught bible class to 16 kindergartners (prepped by running all over church building)
on feet all afternoon cooking
walked dogs
No nap...but exhausted now.
For Julie and Galya: I have lots of trouble in the late 2nd trimester and all the 3rd with instability in my hip joints. LOTS of SI pain and that horribly painful thing Diane mentioned the other day (will post a link asap). What can I do now to help these issues? I am an open book.
I've got to go lay down...I'm exhausted! Later taters!

Eating for 1.2 is probably a better plan. It only takes about 400 extra calories to build that little beast in there. Just make 'em count. An extra egg and pat of butter in the morning, an extra apple and oz of cheese for a snack, and a little more meat and veggies at dinner, and you've got your 400 taken care of, easy.

You're exactly right. And if I can get a hold on this now, this mindset will help in breastfeeding as well as that only takes about 500 extra calories.
And I forgot to mention my incentive plan. This week I NEED (okay, want) a pedicure, but it won't happen until next week and only I clean up my act this week.
Thanks for chiming in guys! Hugs to you all, except you, Ben. Don't make me use my mod powers...
Jamie, just avoid what my wife did during her first pregnancy: supplement with real ice cream from the shop at the corner. But, our boy ended up big, strong & healthy.

I'll let the pregnancy experts lead the charge, since I'm not an expert. I think 400 might even be too high. I think it might be 150 in the 1st trimester, then ramping up to 300 or 350? But you have the right idea with keeping it realistic.

I dont' know what the bleep I'm talking about in regards to pregnancy nutrition, but I think . . .
So, I went to the other doctor this morning and we're looking into some vitamin/thyroid deficiencies to see what's going on. To be honest, I've been struggling with depression since August and am just now addressing it. I'm hoping to have blood work done tomorrow and then start consistently taking fish oil and then add whatever the blood work shows I need.
The physical things he noted today that lead him to believe I have thyroid issues are thinning hair (he noticed...it's been at least two years since I've seen him), cold hands, and water retention (wedding ring leaves a dent around my ring finger).
I really appreciate his willingness to do these "natural" things first without forcing me in to some anti-depressant medicine. Especially since I'm not "sad" currently, just lack the energy and focus to get things done.
I REALLY like this doctor. I see him in three weeks, but we could talk on the phone before then if he's able to get my blood work back. Yeah!!!
Thin mints in the freezer rock. Especially with a nice big glass of icy cold milk!
