yehbut....I know that, I'm just not confident in what size I wear (cause 6 1/2 or 7 isn't great for ordering online shooz), and wondered if it was necessary to get sized since they seem to (maybe) need a more specific fit.
I am somewhere between an 8 and a 9, and I bought the 9 (44 euro, I think). I went and tried them on in an actual store. I looked online at the vibrams five finger website and there aren't any "close" stores to where we'll be this weekend.
And actually, I think my calves are feeling it as much as my hips/SI joints are, BUT after I got up from my rest (and started moving, that's always the key for me) I have felt great!

Well, I've found that doing the conversion (I'm an 8/8.5 and have the size 40, which is about an 8) works pretty good. Did for me and my sister (who doesn't have them, but tried on in the store), and even for Otto if you subtract off how much he tends to add to shoes for being wide-footed.
But on the bright side, you can return and get better size no problems. Mine were a guess, since the store around here that carries them didn't have any in the 40, still worked out ok.
nah, I wasn't trying to be all like that.
I'd say if it looks like you'd be either x or x+1, from what I've seen, you prolly want size x.
But yes… if basically all you're worried about is the size, they'll easily work with you on that. If you're worried if you'll like them, I think you will but if you don't they'll take them back. Check site to be sure of exact terms, because I can't remember if they'll have issues with you trying them outside or not… but otherwise they're supposed to be really good about that kind of thing.
Lots and lots of activity recently from walking in the airport to treks across Kansas City with my two buds to cleaning house yesterday. I am totally feeling it in the SI joints today. Eating has been a bit aggressive, but I'm justifying it by the ton of activity.
Twenty five weeks today. Only 15 more! Aaaak! Poor baby Luke...we've done nothing to prep for this child. Maybe with the long weekend we can work on that, if Michael's not comatose after his work marathon.
Hoping to find two things today: the TV remote and Michael's Discover card (I lost it! Whoops!). And hoping to get laundry done for the week.
After 3 consecutive loads the other day, today I only had one (and had to add in not-often washed items at that), and it's nearly done. Laundry is SO much easier when ya stay on top of it. (so are dishes, but I'm not yet *sigh*)
Good luck on finding the card. I say stick the kids on the job. Keep them occupied for hours (unless they tear apart the house looking).

And I found the replacement service warranty for the broken basketball goal we bought last April. I am pretty sure that we can get a free non-broken one in the mail. Double WOOHOO!!
Yippee.... I'm going to be doing some of that. I got more paper shredded last night, but I have more to do. I also need to make a goodwill run.

Eh, after two it's just adding to the commotion. You'll hardly notice the difference.
Just coming by to say hello. It was great meeting you at the summit. : )
Thanks for the insight on #3. I really am feeling pretty good about the new family dynamics. Just need to get some things done before he gets here!
And it WAS great meeting you at the summit! Glad you came!

Thank you so much, Paula! Beautiful!
Well, I'm really feeling this crazy schedule tonight. I think my bewbiez grew about three inches today, along with my face, fingers, and toes. Lots of water retention today. And my hips are still "tender"...that's the best word I can come up with. I'm sure tomorrow's field trip to the zoo will make everything better, right?
Hey, finally stopping over here to tell you how much I enjoyed meeting you at the summit! You lit up the breakfast room when you walked in, it was great spending a little time with you!

Thanks Celeste! It was fun meeting you too over that whirlwind of a weekend. I think I lit up the breakfast room because I was sooo stinking happy to be eating!
Thursday went to the zoo with Samantha's kindergarten class. It was their last field trip of the year. Everyone kept asking "Aren't you hot? How are you surviving this?" Truthfully, it was easy. I dunno whether it's the thyroid medicine that's helping me cope so well, or the vibrams are really making a difference all the way up the chain (in my SI joints), or what it is, but this pregnancy is going very smoothly.
Now I will say that yesterday I had a significant nap and today an even more significant nap, but all in all I'm able to stay very active.
Making my homemade pizza for the first time in a long time tonight...yummy!
My turn to to say how nice it was to meet you at the Summit, although I didn't get to spend a lot of time chatting with you. It was a challenge trying to find quality time with everyone on Saturday night. But what a blast!
Things are good! Samantha's last day of school is tomorrow and I can hardly wait!! Not to have to be out the door by 7:35 with bfast eaten and lunches/snack packed will be HEAVEN!!! And to have two and a half months of not having to wake Jack up from his afternoon nap will be such a blessing.
Thinking I'm going to have to hit the Y soon as I can feel my desire and energy levels waning. As such I'm sitting/resting a bit more so my SI joints are giving me some trouble. Those first few steps after I get up are a B*tch!
Went to the psychiatrist this week and he said the thyroid numbers were looking better and so we'd stop there until after the baby's born. Thank goodness as I'm soooo tired of waiting an hour to see him. I like him a lot, but holy smokes, to have to wait an hour EVERY time I've been...even after calling first this time...is a HUGE detractor.
Anyway, Jack seems to be doing soo well right now. Although we're into these random annoying boy noises--constantly screeching or moaning or some other random noise for no appearant reason. Whew! Dr. heard them and said it's totally normal! Akk!
He seems to really like to bake, so we'll be making pumpkin bread and oatmeal raisin cookies this week.
I bought key keepers for outside because I've locked myself out of the house twice in the past week. Once last Thursday and yesterday. Poor Michael had to leave work to come rescue me...I guess hearing your pregnant wife crying on the phone will do that to a guy!
I think that's all the random things I can think of...hope Mattie's doing well, Julie!
We had our first swim of the summer today at our local YMCA. They've installed a new "family rec pool" that's about 3.5 feet deep everywhere, except under the slide which brings me to my story. Jack (remember he's only 3) WANTED to do the slide BAD! So, I ask the lifegaurd what the rules on the slide are. To which she replied: just pass the swim test (swim the length of the lap pool without touching the side or the bottom). Okey dokey. I explained this to Jack and he, in his three year old boy way, started rambling on about something else. So, I said, "Son, let me show you what they are talking about and we'll practice." So, we leave the rec pool to go the the lap pool. We get in a lane and this dude swims the entire length of the pool for practice, TWICE.
Finally, the time arrives to actually take the swim test and he does it AGAIN, no problem. A little tired, but he passed. He gets out of the pool and we wait in the line for the wrist band only to be told at that point that he's not tall enough for the slide. WHAT!!!!!????? I had a discussion with them (the life gaurd I had originally spoken to was there and I addressed her) and told them what the life gaurd had JUST told me and they were moderately apologetic. Michael had met up with us at this point and I sent HIM to talk to them, to no avail. The explalantion they gave him was that the slide manufacturer had REALLY emphasized the height rule recently (because they'd been letting kids go in previous years who weren't tall enough...Hello, Samantha!) that littlier kids can get thrown out of the slide because they don't weigh enough.
I was okay with that explanation b/c I really didn't want him to get hurt, but I wasn't very happy with the gaurd that told us otherwise. Michael suggested that they measure kid's heights PRIOR to the swim test so that the kid will know whether they're tall enough or not. DUH!!
Jack cried, I WANTED to cry, but we all got over it, thankfully, and had a super fun time at the Y. We ended at the perfect time because no one was crying over leaving. And we all now know that Jack's as good of a swimmer as his sister...he just lacks a bit of the focus.
