knives and fingers - I've hit cut through the middle of the nail a few times but never the finger to an extent to require stitches - hope it heals fast and clean.
I do like the new log. Will be following with interest.
Ouch on the finger! I cut a couple of mine to the bone as a kid while cutting some ham. Ew. And my dad's a shop teacher so there's many a bloody story to be told. LOL
Ha Ha! No just busy, it's hard to type .. and nothing really to report yet. No workouts because of the finger ... eats have sucked cuz I can't cook ... BAH. I suck.

Ah, Julie! I thought I was the only one who cut their finger while cooking. I've done it SO many times.....I truly am a danger to myself in the kitchen. Once, I really should have gotten stitches, but it was a holiday and I had people coming over and all! I think I remember writing about it in my log now that I think about it!! They are a pain in the ass to heal, too. Take care of it.
It's amazing how much you use a finger. I found the same thing typing was a problem, couldn't cook had to be careful keeping it clean, no lifting for a while. Royal pain. Feel better soon.
Wow, new log, and lots of activity in it already. Good luck on the new plan, and about the finger). I'm usually pretty good in the kitchen, but a nightmare in the garden for cuts and such. As I say that I notice I've got three cuts on my left hand that I don't know where they came from.
Ahh ... finger is still sore, but just wearing a "finger cot" today (it's like a little finger "condom"!). Stitches are starting to be itchy!!
Took measurements and photos today to share with my accountability partner ... have my meals planned ... and wrote out my goals for the coming year last night.
Overall goals:
1. Reach optimal weight of 130-140 lbs this year. A weight that I don't have to struggle to stay at.
2. Start taking some sort of martial arts class.
3. Attend Mass 3/4 weekends with the kids.
4. Regular yoga practice.
5. Attend JPF Summit!
And specific goals/affirmations ...
1. I go to Kansas City on May 15th weighing 140 lbs, feeling thin, fit, and confident.
2. I follow my nutritional plan without feeling the need to "cheat" for the next 6 weeks until March 6th. I do not "deserve" treats. I deserve to reach my goal.
3. Sleep is a priority. I log 8 hours minimum each night.
I'll be posting more daily details etc. in my fat loss blog ... if you want access, just PM me your email address.

Speaking of not needing to cheat, Tom Venudo brought that up on the fitcast. I'm thinking of getting his new book, which talks about the phychological issues behind eating. I need that.
Gal picked up Mindless Eating, which she says is an excellent book, too.
One of my favorite quotes (not from either of the above) is "Food is fuel, continue the march." -- Captain Dale, United States Marine Corp

If you decide to get it up I'll be curious about your opinion on it. I was browsing his site and it looked interesting.

I have Tom Venuto's new book (and actually his other book "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle"). It's good and it definitely addresses the emotional/psychological side of things. Good stuff.
No donuts Greg!! Besides, they would get my bandage dirty ...
My husband thinks he's funny taking pictures of me in my misery!! Ah well ... it's better today with just a band-aid and occasionally a finger cot.
We went snowshoeing for about 45 minutes, just the two of us. And we're going tomorrow morning again ... a bit longer hike. Should be great!
Here's some pictures of the girls and xc-skiing a few weeks ago ...
And some ice on the trees a few weeks ago ...
Today has been spot-on perfect. Going to eat my PN Chocolate-PB bar and drink my tea, and watch "Wanted" with the hubs.

Hey Julie. I love the pics. It's great to get the girls out there doing wintery activities. I love to take my boy sledding or on winter nature walks. It's soooooo hard not to get cabin fever this time of year you know?
Glad to hear you're back on track. Sorry I didn't get to chat more with you yesterday, was a crazy day at work . Let's catch up soon okay?
I am reading the new book right now, too! Such a bummer about the finger, Julie! I love your goals and I know you'll get there! Oh, I am going to pm you my email address, too.

Not a problem Jill! Sorry I had to go get M on the bus!!
Ginger, I'll be glad to have you ... but didn't get a PM!
Another good day ... Matt and I took an hour-long snowshoe this morning ... after TEN hours of sleep last night!! It was heaven ... Planning a good night's sleep tonight ... up early for Mass ... then a short work day which will be nice. Today was a bit long since I started late from the snowshoeing. Planning some yoga tomorrow. I did hit the foam roller and did some stretching last night, but I just want some yoga!!
Eats are 100% on track, and I have no desire to cheat. Go me.
