Hi Bree - yes, we left the kiddies home for this trip - too hard to pull 'em out of school, calling it our 20th anniversary trip (will hit 20 in June).

The plan WAS that we'd do a big family trip next year, and let DD bring a friend... but now with the growth hormone, not sure we'll be able to keep that promise :-(. But NOT gonna worry about it while I'm in FL... where it's FINALLY nice enough to not be shivering all day!!!

Too funny about the "3 year old birth control"

It is supposed to be warm here today - mid 30's so I am going to run outside after work today. I know after all that I just said before about not doing it, but I just love it when it gets warm like this!
I have to say that I first thought you were joking until I read it a few more times. We're whining when it's 50 and 60. But you're right, it is relative. I guess it would be kind of cool to be able to think of 30 as warm!

Funny, I was feeling slightly guilty for being influenced by the behavior of a three year old to discourage me from having kids yet. I love my nephew, but wow is he something else. I wish I could describe the levels of naughtiness and energy...and I have been around a lot of kids in my day!

Wow - how nice! I keep trying totalk my parents into going on a trip by themselves. They have gone on ONE since I have been alive - 27 years.

The warmth must feel so great!

I know - I figure $100 every 3 months or so. The tradeoff for DH and I getting free hair is babysitting crazy nephew - see above.

Oh no - no joke. This weekend was really nice! I think it hit 37 yesterday. I was out walking all weekend! And without gloves! Today its supposed to get to 43 I think? But with freezing rain...so not like you can get out and enjoy it.

Hmmm, as soon as they are old enough not to wear you out? That never happens, does it?

Well not much to report from the weekend. I decided to forgo my usual Saturday morning lift for lots of NEAT and a walk. I was still sore from the previous lifting sessions and felt it would be good to do some resting. I hardly sat at all on Saturday - between Ikea, Home Depot, and a 35 minute walk, I was pretty active.

Sunday morning I went to the gym-
Treadmill:
30 minute run = 3 miles
25 minute walk

Then cleaned the house for 2 hours, then did laundry, then we walked to the grocery store. We made a delcious stir fry, although healthy, I may have had a ltitle more then I should have. I am hoping all my activity offset it a little. I am still having troubel with Sunday's. DH always wants to make dinner together which is fine, but I am still having trouble with portion control. Sigh.

Here is my proposed schedule for this week:

Tonight: treadmill intervals
TuesdayL: Built For Show, Spring, A1 - maybe some running/walking after depending on how I feel
Wednesday: treadmill intervals
Thursday: BFS, Spring, A2 - again maybe some cardio after
Friday: most likely OFF
Saturday: BFS, Spring A2 - maybe some ice skating with DH
Sunday: hour run/walk on treadmill

I know what you mean. I think we're to get up to 46F tomorrow (51F on Wed as well), but with rain. By the time that the sun comes back it's supposed to be back to freezing.

Yep - rain here too! Its so weird. All the snow is melting. At least its not freezing and turning into ice like it is north of here. Just a little tease is all we get!

Hi Ginger! Jane - you may be right! I just checked the tracking info and it says its in St. Paul....so unless the mailman gets lost it should be here today - yay!

Thanks Tracey! I hope ice skating works out, too. My DH wanted to take me on my birthday but it was too cold. (below zero) But Saturday is supposed to be in the mid 20's (I know my weather reports are funny to y'all) and it would be sorta romantic being valentines and all Unless we fall and break a bone....not so romantic then!

Well, besides my delight in possibly finally receiving the GWF today....I have great news. I FINALLY broke the 130's! I weighed in at 139.0 last night. About 1.5 less then Friday. I have been waiting for that for a month! My two days of light exercise and NEAT really paid off! Or my water retension from t.o.m. left...either way I will take it! Hopefully it will not be a blip.

Monday's workout:

t-mill intervals
5 min warm up @ 5.5
1 min sprints @ 8.0, 8.2, 8.2, 8.5, 8.5, 8.2, 8.2
each followed by 2 min @ 5.5
8 min cool down @ 5.2 - my heart rate was soaring so I had to stop for 30 seconds to let it get back down
8 min walk @ 3.7

These were hard! I was soooo sweaty. My HR did that thing where it skipped up into the 200's again. It hadn't happened for a long time so I never called my doctor. Probably need to get on that.

Also going to stop and get new runners tonight. My left ankle/shin has been bothering me and I think its high time for new shoes. They are over two years old if I remember right - eeek! Its a weird pain - not quite shin splints but just a general acheyness in my ankle. Its not unbrearable, but I don't want it to get worse and have to switch over to the bike.

Even if it is a blip you know that it's a sign of things to come. I always think that as long as the highs get lower, so will the lows. Congrats!

Thanks Everyone! It feels good. And two days at that weight - so not a blip yet. My body is so weird. Anne you are so right about the highs continually getting lower.

Oh and no luck on the GWF yesterday The USPS confuses me. Don't tease me with tracking information saying its in the vicinity and have me wonder why its riding around on a truck all day! Today hopefully is the day.

And now the workout....

Tuesday Feb. 10
Built For Show, Spring A1

A) DB Snatch
5 x 25
5 x 30
5 x 30 - wanted to make sure form was right

Superset
B1) Front Squat
20 x 65
20 x 65 - ummmm yeah, 65 might have been a little too ambitious for 20 reps
B2) Step Up
20 x 15's
20 x 15's

Superset
C1) Barbell Bent Over Row
20 x 45 (oly bar)
20 x 45
C2) Barbell Incline Bench Press
20 x 45
15 x 45 - FAIL

Superset
D1) Wood Chop
15 x 30 - too easy
15 x 40 - better, not quite though
D2) 3 pt Plank
30 sec. each side x BW
30 sec each side x BW

Then I randomly did about 10 minutes on the bike at a moderate pace - all the treadmills were taken.

Notes:

I think I am going to like this workout! The reps and sets change each time as follows:
workouts 1,4,7 are 2 x 20
workouts 2,5,8 are 5 x 5
workouts 3,6,9 are 4 x 10

-The front squat was too much at 20 reps. The last few of the second set were brutal.
- I had never done Wood Chop before. I did NROL4W at home, so did the lame at home version with dumbbells. I need to go way up in weight next time.
- Planks! I have been avoiding them but am glad they are a part of this. I need to keep working on them.
- The only thing I don't like are the step ups. I really hate them. There I said it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
In non-workout-the-economy-really-sucks-news, something that we were counting on at work didn't happen yesterday. I don't know what this means yet, but rumor is nothing would until June.

I wanted to accomplish my personal career goals in '09, but need certain things to happen that are out of my control to do this. Can't really be selfish and ask for things from my boss that aren't available to anyone when just having a job right now is the lowest common denominator. Changes your perspective in a hurry.

Nice workout, again! I hate step-ups too, if that makes you feel less guilty!

Ugh about the work stuff. I hope your business keeps going strong though and you don't have to worry.

Thanks Celeste - If I only really hate a few lifts, it can be all bad, right? OH DB squat from NROL4W is also on my hate list. Hopefully work will be okay - thanks!

I was under the impression I could only use it at one computer...no?

If not then yes I would have time here during lunch in a few minutes!

I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't be able to download it on more than one computer. You'll just have a username and password that you could use anywhere. I'm pretty sure!
