Good luck on your test on Friday. I feel very confident about it, though - you are one strong hamster. Hamsters can be really fierce, too. Check out this Wikipedia entry. My Dh was the one who originally told me about it. He has the comics somewhere in storage, LOL.

Sometimes I think that all housecats think to themselves when they see us humans, "if I were 50 lbs. heavier, you would so be my dinner."

Thanks... LOL at the adolescent radioactive blackbelt hamsters
Lifting today, probably last lift before the test so I'm not overly tired / sore. Still have karate tonight too, plus a practice session (last one with everyone there before DH heads to Vegas tomorrow ).
Warmup
Overhead Squats - 8x15#, 8x25#, 8x30#
Snatch Balance - 2x5x25#, 5x30#
Jerk - 5x65#, 5x75#
Front Squat - 8x75#, 5x95#, 3x3x105#
RDL - 8x105#, 2x5x115#
Cable Row - 2x8x100#
--- MASSIVE blonde moment here - some idjit had taken the carabiner clip off the cable, so I went looking for another. I tried to take one off an other attachment, but couldn't get it to come off... Two big guys offered to help - apparently, it comes off just fine if you don't try to go over the thick hinge part
Pushups - 2x10 - shoulder held up, which is good... won't try bench til at least next week though, just to be safe.
Nice workout. Re: the blonde moment, glad I'm not the only one with those moments in the gym . . . though I do think they should be called something else.
Hai... don't worry about that blonde moment. I do stuff like that all the time. I am all about female empowerment, but sometimes its nice to be a woman and sort of get away with that stuff sometimes.
45 min tmill walk today - was tired, not feeling up to intervals or anything else... Calories were finally low enough yesterday, on track again today...
I got SCHOOLED today. Big time. My gf very tactfully told me that I should consider getting bra-sized and fitted, as I've never had it done. I always thought I knew my size, knew my proper fit... but she said the girls were a bit low, and my clothes might fit better (I always thought I couldn't wear empire waist clothes because they never hit below my chest) if I got fitted.
Wow what an eye opener!!! Went to Nordstrom (at her recommendation), and I THOUGHT I was a 36D, but it turns out I'm a 34DDD (yes, that's THREE D's, not a typo). Wow. Wow. Wow. I'm SO not used to wearing a bra like this (much higher up, much tighter around the band), but I have to admit that the girls are probably up where they belong now (why does that phrase make me think of that song from "Officer and a Gentleman"?). And I tried on an empire waist top and was shocked at how well it fit .
I was always so sure I wasn't one of those "wearing the wrong size" women, and at 42 I figured I knew my size and fit...
Guess not!

Hope your test prep is going well!
Thanks Bree, I always feel like the person who knows all the equipment and how to work it, so I felt pretty stupid not being able to unhook a stupid carabiner!!!
Test prep is going... we videotaped last night, and it helped to watch it. Sensei also made one or two more changes, but I actually am ok with them... If the video on Friday doesn't turn out, I might post the practice one - at least I have one version (pre-changes) taped...
DH left today for Las Vegas. Tomorrow is our last practice session, and DS might try to fill-in for DH - both to help the practice AND just in case (if DH misses a connection coming home and doesn't get to my test in time ).
LOL! I had this exact same experience with my gf and Nordies earlier last year. At age 45. ROTFMAO!
I've never looked back. A well fitting bra can make a 5 dollar t-shirt look like a million bucks... conversely an ill fitting bra makes all your clothing look bad.

YAY for the bra fitting. I did that last year at VS and was almost offended at the size they gave me. I've lost most of the bewbies I had, so I think I should go to Nordstrom's and do the same thing you did, to see what I should be wearing. I call my bras my fake boobs, because without them, I have none.
Wow, that was entirely TMI about my chest size.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who never thought they needed help til someone else said something ... I have some pretty good red marks (gouges?) from the bra - I'm just not used to it being that tight! But, I got a few different styles, so we'll see which one(s) I end up liking best... They sure do cost more than my ones from Kohls!

Yes, she brought in tons of styles, and a few in different sizes (not all are cut the same, just like any other clothes)... and reassured me when I wasn't sure of fit...

After what I said earlier, I don't think you hit anywhere near TMI . My gf told me not to go to VS because they aren't trained like the Nordstrom people, for whatever that's worth... for me, I doubt they sell much (any) in my size! I think VS is more about being sexy and making the girls look bigger - I do NOT need help looking bigger!!!
Unlike you, I've not EVER gotten low enough bf% to lose any size in the girls... not ever. They are one of the last places I think I lose fat... and I really don't need to be a DDD! I mean, seriously... who is a 34DDD except for people with fake boobs??? I'm only 5'2"!! Even when I was in hs (before kids - the girls grew more after each kid), and I weighed only 105# (sigh...), I was a full C cup. Or maybe bigger, since I obviously didn't know my real size .

LMAO!!!!
I got a pro fitting at a bra shop a few years ago. Ouch!!!! Holy crap, talk about insanely tight bands! Then I got pregnant with #5 and that was the end of that. I need to go again once I'm done breastfeeding #6 but I'm very much not looking forward to that tightness again. Do you ever get used to it?? I mean, really, I can't even handle wearing shoes most of the time.
When I had to wear suits every day, I got used to a snug band AND a true underwire. Yes, you get used to it after a week or two. And nothing spills out the sides.
I have had the sneaking suspicion I am one of those who needs to get fitted. But, with what little I have I figure there isn't much guesswork involved Unfortunately its the one of the first places I lose, too.
Less than 24 hours til my black belt test... NERVOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if you get used to it... I'm not yet! I came home this afternoon and immediately unhooked

I've always worn underwire... just not this tight or high!

Well, maybe a "proper" fit would enhance you??? Or maybe you look lovely just the way you are now
If you get into a tight spot on your test today, just throw the DDDs at 'em.
I am not wishing you luck because I know you are prepared and you will do well. I have confidence you will do as you prepared and no matter what the test result, you will have given your hamster best.

Nervous... killing time... but I've also been "lucky" enough to be completely distracted by a semi-crisis with my son's medicine. Remember that growth hormone that costs us $1500/month because insurance won't pay (but which he needs because he doesn't make ANY on his own in his pituitary gland and would be under 5' tall if we didn't treat him)? Well, Sandoz Pharmaceuticals decided that they aren't rich enough, and raised the price over 40% (effective immediately), which would put us around $2500/month - that's a $1000 PER MONTH increase . As if $1500/month isn't VERY hard to come up with already.
I've been on the phone, working with the pharmacy (on Staten Island) that sells it cheapest, and the best they can do is switch us to a different brand / manufacturer (keeping us around the old price). Which I'm VERY glad to do because I don't want Sandoz to get one more cent of our hard-earned $. But it also involves a lot of phone calls and paperwork with the pharmacy, nurse, doctor's office, etc etc...
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
Seriously. How much fucking money does big phrarma need to make!?!?!? In other countries, this stuff costs less than 10% of what we pay in the US.
Fuck Sandoz and all the damn big pharma companies for price-gouging.
::deep breath::

Bytsi, that is just plain awful! These prices are often just made out of thin air because there's so few manufacturers and they know insurance will cough up the money anyway.
How often do patients or parents pay out of their own pockets?

I have no idea how many people do it... we are so blessed that DH is able to just pick up extra shifts to cover (most) of the cost...
At least it distracted me for much of the day from my nerves...
