I don't know how well I am doing with the Garden overall, but we will see. I'm just looking forward to the reduction of my grocery bill in the near future.
Tracey:
I love radishes. Bob doesn't care for them. He doesn't like beets either.
Have meetings on and off all day. We're on a break right now because some of the folks have another meeting they have to attend.
But all in all I am in a really good mood.

(I'm not sure which is more evil: beets or squats. Maybe doing squats with beets, the two evils would cancel each other out and you would suddenly be transformed into a pure beam of goodness-filled light?)
Okay I actually had 4 days of activity in a row we can add 40 minutes on the elliptical for last night's exercise accomplishment. Today is officially an off day. My legs are fried and sore this morning. I think the goal for this evening is to do a few things around the house and then go to bed early.
I got the 70x7 blog updated while I was eating lunch. I still need to do the week one photo gallery but that can wait until this evening.
Went to dinner with a friend of mine from Colorado Springs last night. We went to The Grove Restuarant at Discovery Park. It was pretty good. After I dropped her off at the hotel. I went and checked out "the Chocolate Bar" on West Alabama. I'd heard decent things about it from a couple of different places, but I wasn't impressed. I thought it was over-priced.

The dessert side looked yummy but I didn't try any of that. I went for the individual pieces of stuff. The chocolate Truffle was ok. The Pecan bar was OK but the dark chocolate didn't really melt in your mouth all that well. The Caramel they used on the pretzel was really tacky and kind of stiff (it's almost like they cooked it too long). and honestly, I have a hard time paying $2-3 for things like Nutterbutters being dipped in chocolate. I did it (as evidenced by the picture below) but I was really unimpressed by the quality of the chocolate. I still have some things left to try
I would like to try the dessert side sometime, but I wasn't impressed with the chocolate items.

I slept well last night. I didn't move until about 3:30 this morning.

And to think that we usually note the first flower of the year.
The chocolates look good, sorry that they weren't as good as they looked. We have a local store that makes chocolates that are pretty good, but I always find the coatings a little thick. I'm staying away from things like that at the moment, since I don't trust myself to not eat everything I purchase all at once. Maybe I'll go choose a few during my next maintenance week.
I've been absolutely fascinated with Armadillos since I first moved down here. I didn't seem them for the first 10 years at all. Then last year I saw my first Armadillo when we went out to visit Bob's dad's grave. I think i've seen 7 or 8 since then.
Workout yesterday was hoeing the garden and then planting a grape tomato, a cherry tomato, and two jalepeno plants. I also bought some purple onion sets and planted about 1/3 of those. I have a little space left in the garden that is unplanted. I don't know what I am going to put in that area.
I have to say, I was really excited when I realized that my scallions where coming up.

Here it's the first robin.

Armadillos are cool strange beasts. I have a stuffed animal version sitting here looking at me as I type.
Have you ever read Kipling's Just So Stories? It has a story about how the armadillo got its scales that was probably my introduction to armadillos as a kid.

Actually I don't think I've read the Just So Stories Jennifer. I must check that out

When we first moved to where we are now there were a couple of foxes in the area. Even though we're in the city, there's a creek nearby and I understand that there had been a glut of rabbits. Unfortunately the foxes cleared out the rabbits and moved on. Although I notice that we now seem to have more rabbits, so perhaps the foxes will work their way back.
Most of the other critters we have around are the usual city ones: skunks, squirrels, raccoons and the usual birds. Although one night on my way out I saw an opossum, which is unusual around here.
Oh, and yes, usually we look for the first robin to note spring as well Jennifer.
Armadillos
Opossum (came home and it was on my porch!)
Deer
Raccoons (also on my front porch)
Various Waterfowl
Saw a hawk yesterday afternoon
Lizards (all kinds)
Turtles
Water Moccassins (and it totally skeeves Bob out when I take pictures of them)

I've seen deer as well, but not in Ontario - it was Texas
Lizards, yep, them too but I think more in the southwest, Mexico and Cuba. For some reason when we were last in Mexico there were turtles all over the resort we were in. They had a huge freshwater system surrounding and running through the place, and the turtles had either been brought in, or decided to take over.
I think I'd have a problem with the water moccasins myself!

Wow... We have squirrels, raccoons, deer (tons of 'em), sometimes groundhogs, plenty of birds (I'm not good at being more specific than that!). When I was growing up (in Maryland) we had copperheads near our house - one bit my mom but luckily it only got the (wooden) heel of her shoe!
I HATE opossums. HATE HATE HATE 'em. When I was 7, one got in our backyard and ripped my dog's throat open. Our other dog killed it, and my dog lived but had 15 staples in her neck... ::shudder:: I have NEVER forgiven that opossum or the entire species for almost killing my beloved pet.
