For reference here is a link to my old log: My Old Log
I worked with Leigh Peele and made some great progress, dropping close to 30 lbs before I let life take over and gained back every one of those pounds! So I certainly have some unfinished business to take care of and it's time for me to get my ass back in gear.
I have signed up for the 2009 Challenge and plan to kick everyone's butt!!!
Looking forward to getting re-acquainted with ya'll!!
So glad you're back with us! And I like the name of the new log We all have unfinished business with ourselves, and that's why we're all here! (But honestly... is anyone ever actually finished??)
Speaking of tea....I picked up the best tea at the grocer's of all places. It's Twinings "Four Red Fruits". I only drink black tea, cuz I gots to get my caffeine somewhere!! This one is a black tea with a combination of strawberries, cherries, raspberries, and red currants. MMM.....having some right now.
Hi Tracey--saw lots of your old posts all over the forum. Good luck!

Oh, and welcome back!
I've seen that brand (just haven't tried it!) That sounds heavenly!!
Thanks!!!
Work has been INSANELY busy. We found out JUST LAST WEEK that our company is implementing a holiday shutdown for two weeks, between Saturday, December 20, 2008 and Sunday, January 4, 2009. We are required to take vacation during this time - and oh - by the way - if you don't happen to HAVE enough vacation time - we get the choice of taking the time off UNPAID, or we get to dip into NEXT YEAR'S vacation balance. How very lovely!! I only get two weeks of vacation a year - and I wasn't planning on taking any vacation over the holidays!!! So I guess I'll be taking some unpaid time off.......
On the one hand, now that it's kinda sunk in, I'm really looking forward to the two weeks off (I've NEVER had a full two weeks off!) but on the other hand, none of our deadlines have been extended so we are busting ass trying to get everything done on time with two less weeks to do it!! It's been insane!!!
I've never had 2 full weeks off either, but I will have that and more starting in January, since my job is over after this month and I haven't found a new one...
Do you usually use the full 2 weeks over the year? Maybe take one week paid and one unpaid if you need some cash coming in... ??? Bleh. Well - bright side here would (obviously) be - ENJOY THE TIME OFF!

I thought about doing that, but I don't want to use my vacation time now. We signed a contract and put a down payment on a seasonal campsite right on the Chesapeake Bay for this upcoming summer and I want to use my measly two weeks for camping trips!!
Tracy welcome back!!!! I used to work at a company that shut everyone down without pay on occasion. (no more than a few days) On one hand it was scary but I learned to appreciate the time off. When companies do this they can often avoid layoffs which is good too.

Thanks, Karla!! Yeah - I'm thinking they did this INSTEAD OF (hopefully!!!) a layoff. I'd much rather have to take a few unpaid days than be jobless!! You are looking MOST AWESUM btw!!!
I haven't read your old log Tracey, but I love the title of your new one! Obviously you have had a lot of success with this process before, and it sounds like you're off to a good start this time! Welcome back!

Hi Karen!!
I'm planning to go to Walmart this afternoon to pick up some basic necessities (not Christmas shopping!) and if they have a Wii - I'm going to get one! I've been wanting one for a while, and I figure what better way to get some NEAT??
Oh my goodness I LOVE our Wii!!! Wii fit is a good form of neat, though I might stop short of calling it an actual workout. It is definitely fun though, and some of the stuff is more challenging than you expect. We have a Pirates of the Caribbean game which is only one player but it's a lot of fun... you swashbuckle your way through the game, sword fighting with a wii remote looks pretty darn funny, let me tell ya! Hope you can find one! They're a very hot commodity!
Tracey!!!! I'm so glad you're back. I hope you get a Wii - we have one and I think its super fun. We had to jump through some hoops to get it though. You might not be able to just walk into the store and buy one. I had to call a zillion stores and send Shawn right after work to a certain store and he got the last one for that day. That was before last Christmas though, so hopefully they are now "old and uncool" and you can get yours.
I hope you're able to find a Wii.... we got ours last year for Christmas, and it was a challenge to find one (resorted to eBay). This year my sister is looking for one, and dh found her one on eBay tonight. Apparently they're still cool LOL.

Well - I lucked out BIG TIME and managed to snag the LAST Wii at Walmart on Friday afternoon! I was planning on going there anyway, but figured I'd give a call to find out if one of the two Walmarts near me had any in stock. I called and they had ONE LEFT! I asked them to hold it for me, but was told they can't do that and "if you want it I'd suggest you get here quick!" - so I threw on a pair of jeans and out the door I went. Luckily it's only about ten minutes away and it was still there! SO - we got our Wii!!
Saturday was crazy busy! I got up at 6:30AM so I could head down to my 97yo grandmother's house and meet up with my two sisters, my mom and my sister-in-law so we could all go shopping for a local charity called "Mom's House" that we've been supporting for a couple years. It's an "adopt a family" kind of thing where they put ornaments on a Christmas tree that lists the items they want/need. We pick the ornaments off the tree, and then shop for and give the items. This year it was mostly clothes for the children, so we made sure each kid also got a couple toys, too - even though they didn't ask for them! I left the house at 8AM and didn't get home til after 10PM!!!
This is my LAST WEEK of work this year!!! I still can't believe I'm going to have two whole weeks off, but I'm definately planning to enjoy it! I will probably go to my Mom and Dad's house for a couple days early next week to help her cook some stuff up ahead of time for Christmas dinner. Since Mom has been staying with my 97 yo Gram every other week - alternating with my Aunt - she hasn't had a lot of time to get things done! Gram has congestive heart failure (she actually spent about 4 months in the hospital this summer - we thought several times that she was going to pass) so she really can't be alone so my Mom and my Aunt have been staying with her (she still lives in her own home!!) She's actually doing pretty well, considering! She's going to be at Mom and Dad's house for a few days for Christmas and the whole family will be getting together. Always a fun time!!

One of my husbands good friends' employer is shutting them down for two weeks, too. So he decided to go to Vegas with another of their friends. I think its their third time this year? That's one way to spend your time off I guess. It surprised me because the company he works for is a ginormous computer company. I guess no one is safe in this economy.
