You guys were doing a good pace on your bikes, too. Hope you get the new ones soon!
Thanks, Bree!
DH's lack'o'patience got the best of him and he called the bike shop today - only to be told "Oh - they are ready - didn't we call you yesterday??" Um....hell no, you didn't!!! SO - our new bikes are done and we are picking them up tonight! And of course we'll have to take them out for a test run - even though it's supposed to be a rest day for me since I have another 5k tomorrow evening!
Well, a nice short ride would still be considered a rest day. Enjoy!
Thanks, Anne!
Bikes are here! For our short test ride, DH picked a road with a HUGE hill (we hadn't been down this road before!) - I should have stopped at the top, but didn't, and ended up walking my bike back up vs. riding. If I didn't have the 5k race tonight I would have pedaled, but......
And, just cuz I think it's purty - here is our crepe myrtle in full bloom:
Last night I ran in another 5k - the Wilmington Blue Rocks 5k right on the riverfront in downtown Wilmington, DE.
It was hot as heck (almost 90) and the humidity was up there (not as bad as it has been, but.....). There were over 250 runners, and the course went from the front of the Blue Rocks stadium (minor league baseball team) around the river front. Part of the run was actually on the riverwalk - where all of the restaurants are - and all of the people sitting out in the fresh air enjoying the view of the river, and all of the yummy smells from all of the yummy restaurants! Having to run by all that was brutal!
Anyway, I finished in (officially) 37:12 (despite my post on facebook where I said I finished in 37:08 - guess I can't read the timeclock very well! lol) - still faster than my last race by 34 seconds!!
A number of the 5Ks around here pass along the waterfront (which is quite nice) but it's really just a walk, without lots of restaurants. Anyway, congrats on the race, and on beating your time!

I like that shirt too. All my old race shirts have ugly graphics. The plain lettering is a nice change.
Thanks, Tina! Yeah - some of the shirts are really ugly! I have a lime green one from one race a few years ago - I only wear that one around the house!
