Weeeee! Congrats on the Wii! We (can I say "we" anymore? LOL) have so much fun with it. We got ours last year, but this year we have Wii Fit to put under the tree and it has been killing me, because I want to play!
Enjoy your time off.

Wow, two workouts in one day! I've tried it before, but never managed to keep it up.
I didn't really count the 20 mins as a "workout" - more just to get the blood moving since I sit on my butt all day long!

We've been trying to find the Wii Fit - not having much luck! But we've decided that we are going to get one as soon as we can find one. DH keeps telling me he's going to get me Jillian's (Biggest Loser) workout cuz he just loves the way she "ahem" motivates people! LOL
It may not be as motivating, but outdoor life active challenge (or something like that!) is a really cool game - kayaking, log jumping - very active and a fun workout too!

That one sounds right up my alley (in fact I just ordered it!!!) Santa is giving us "Game Party" and "Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games"
Today's activity will be LOTS of shopping. Getting ready to have some breakfast, then I'm heading out to shop! DH is going to be whipping up some pies as we have a family Christmas dinner to go to tomorrow (his side of the family) - we always go to my mom and dad's house on Christmas day.
Tracey, your workouts look good. I agree with you on the two workouts in one day--one of them is just a "get moving" thing and the other is the true workout.
Hope you had a great holiday and are having fun with your Wii! I got the Jillian "game" but haven't even played with it yet, as the boys have been busy with their games! I got Wii fit for my birthday in June and LOVE it though... hope you can find one!
"As far as (healthy) eating, either do it, or don't. Same issues repeated over and over is just insanity. We either commit to the endeavor or pay lip-service to it. This is the hardest part of the whole process, and it needs to be practiced more than the actual physical training. It's mind training." ~ Matt Thorne
"The reason that most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want most for what they want at the moment."
Congrats on coming back and more congrats on snagging a Wii! We got one last Christmas and Wii Fit at some point not long after that. I can't stand video games of any sort so I've never used it but the kids enjoy it.

Ah, I got the kids Outdoor Life for this year's Christmas and they LOVE it, so much more than Wii Fit even. They always end up sweaty as all get out from it -- much more than the Fit.
We've been having a good time with the Wii - now if only we could find a Wii Fit! HAHA - so far that has been next to impossible. Best Buy has it listed for $89 but of course they don't have any available. I'll keep checking the website and just order it whenever. Haven't yet tried out the Outdoor Life games, but that will happen in the next couple days!
We picked up one of these:
at BJ's for $50! We've tried it out (had to go buy some gloves, though - it's hard on the knuckles!!) and this is going to be a heck of a workout!!
Today I'm making a HYYYOOOOGE pot of homemade veggie soup, and DH is going to grill up a big quantity of chicken breasts - we are getting prepared for the change in our diet. We've decided to go the low carb (ala TNT) route and see how we do! So for the challenge, that will be my diet plan, and I'm following the workouts in the TNT book. One of my main goals is to increase my NEAT - the main reason for the purchase of the Wii, and the reflex bag, too!
As a reward for 100% compliance for the first 30 days, I get an hour long Swedish massage - that's incentive!!!
And to keep myself on track and on plan - I'm posting this HORRIBLE picture of myself (taken in mid-November) to remind myself how bad I let things go....I was in a class for work, and they took a "class photo" - YIKES!!!
Tracey, I'll be kickstarting the new year with a few weeks of TNT, too. That's what I started off 2008 with, as well. I'm not in the right frame of mind to be counting calories, so TNT works good for me. Also, I need to immediately go cold-turkey on sugar, and TNT works good for that, too!
Last year (err...I guess it's still THIS year), I stayed on TNT for almost half of the year, but I don't have much more to lose -- more just recomp now -- so will probably only stay on TNT for several weeks this time.
I can't wait.....I really like TNT and respond well to it.

Your success is one of the main reasons I'm going the low carb route! I hope to have as much success as you!!
Here is the veggie soup I made yesterday:
Today I have an appt at the salon for "the works" - I'm getting my eyebrows waxed, my hair highlighted and cut and having a spa pedicure! Then, I have to go over to Open MRI to have my right ankle x-rayed. I've been having an issue with it for a couple months. Went to the doc and she is pretty sure it's tendonitis, but wants me to have an xray to be sure it isn't something like arthritis The good thing is she didn't give me any restrictions as far as exercising - so NO EXCUSES!!
Tonight DH and I are having dinner at one of our fav restaurants - it's a little place about 5 mins from our house called "Steak and Main." We'll have a yummy dinner, wine, and some dessert and then we'll come home and settle in - I'm not a fan of being out and about on New Year's Eve - too many drunk crazies out there!!
Tomorrow is "judgement day" We will be taking weights, measurements and pictures tomorrow morning, and then the challenge officially begins!
Dont be too hard on yourself regarding the photo you posted. You were so successful with Leighs programme in the past and you'll get there again.
i've got a pic of my muffin top in a pair of too tight jeans, and its too highlight where I am now and where I want to be.
The vegie soup looks great, I've been making up a huge batch of chicken curry, and a bean curry to take up to the in laws tomorrow. Not sure all that fibre and a hangover will combine too well!
Enjoy your massage and all that pampering

Ooh, aah! Veggie soup looks delicious! I made soup myself this weekend--I needed real, healthy food desperately and soup fit the bill, fills me up and keeps me warm. I have to say, though, mine wasn't nearly as pretty as yours.
I'm with you on the New Year's plans. I'm thinking of cooking a nice meal with wine and staying off the streets completely. And if we're awake at midnight, that will be a bonus.
Mmmm - your soup looks delicious. I just want to pick out those pieces of broccoli I see floating and pop them in my mouth. I hope you had a nice dinner out last night.

Well, I have officially joined the Jan - June challenge - AND posted pics!! As is quite obvious, I'm basically back to where I was a year ago before I started working with Leigh. While I am disappointed in myself, I also know I have no one to blame but myself, and I have two simple choices. Either continue with the bad eating habits and the weight gain, or get my ass in gear and do something about it. I choose the latter, since the alternative just simply isn't acceptable to me any longer. I'm tired of being unhappy with how I look, and more importantly, with how I feel.
So.....after a very decadent New Year's Eve dinner (complete with creme brulee for dessert!) it's time to buckle down and get back to business. DH and I are doing a low carb plan for the next 30 days. We will be following the Protein Power plan and once the 30 days is done, we will re-assess and see where we want to go next. I'm committed to 100% compliance for the next 30 days, and when I hit that goal, I will be rewarded with an hour long swedish massage!!! Heck, I can do anything for 30 days, right??
This morning we did a "purge the cupboards" exercise!! We got rid of all the crap in the house, and the critters outside are very happy! Lots of crackers, cereals, etc out the door and onto the ground for the birds and squirrels!
Today DH is going to smoke a turkey breast - YUMMMM! I have the Jack Daniels smoking chips soaking in water now! And tonight we are having a New Years Day seafood feast! DH is out at the store right now picking up some lobster and clams, and we'll have that, along with some shrimp that we already have in the freezer. He'll saute everything up with some butter and white wine, and we'll have it with a big salad, and a glass of wine.
I posted my goals and my plan in the official challenge thread, but wanted to put them here, too (no need to double post those photos though!!!)
Goals
1. Get my BMI into the "normal" range (approx 150lbs) - I'm currently at the low end of the obese range! YIKES!
2. Reduce bodyfat percentage to 25% or lower
3. Get back into my size 10 "good butt" (as DH calls them!) jeans
4. Stay CONSISTENT with my nutrition!
5. Significantly increase my NEAT Plan
1. Nutrition: Protein Power diet
2. Workouts: from TNT
Tracey, that soup looks delicious!!! Great job starting off the new year on the right foot, and I know you can do it! It's discouraging to have to retravel ground you've already gone over, but on the other hand, now you know you can do it, so it's kind of easier (for me at least). Good luck on your 30 day jumpstart!
BTW, I love the idea of a spa day complete with an MRI!! Too funny!
Tracey, Happy New Year! Nice goal list and way to go on getting the food to a place that isn't accessible again .
The birds sure are enjoying it!

Hi Celeste!! I actually didn't end up with the xray on my ankle. By the time I got out of the salon, the MRI center actually closed early since it was New Year's Eve! I have to go get it done tomorrow!
