HI Tracey! Still going strong in here, I see....good job!! Hope you like the taco skillet...it's one of my faves to make and then have to take to work each day.
So glad I am low-carbing it again. Finally, my appetite is under control. I have to be so careful with my carbs. I was fine for 6 months when I was basically not eating any sugar (aside from fruits). But once the holidays came and I "treated" myself....look out! This week, I feel sooo much better having weaned myself from that damn sugar! I haven't started tracking yet, but I am using the GWF to see how my burn rate is stacking up.
Keep up the great work!

I hear ya on the out-of-control-once-you-start! I barely have any cravings whatsoever - which is GREAT and very unusual for me!!
I hear both of you about the sugar cravings. I try to limit my carbs(breads/sugars) to 3 servings a day, the rest of my carbs come from milk or fruit. I would rather get my calories from something that makes me feel less puffy, bloated and tired. But maybe I am the only one who feels carbs puff them out.
Tracey, I know I'm behind in saying this, but terrific job this month ! Cute new avi, too.
Thanks, Karen!!!

Nope - you aren't the only one! Once I started the low-carb-ing, I noticed a DEFINATE difference - no longer feeling bloated or puffy!!
Wow - I am so behind! I totally thought I had posted recently....anywho - Great job this month! Pics look great and I love the new avi it makes me smile!
I haven't done any low carbin' but definitely notice a difference in puffiness if I have too much or at least more then usual.

Thanks, Bree!!! I blow up like a puffer fish when I eat too many simple carbs!!!
So - had the meeting with my boss today. The news is "client expected to sign soon"....what the hell does SOON mean - they were supposed to sign almost a month ago? She basically said it could be tomorrow - it could be next month - and then again they could decide not to sign AT ALL..........sigh
The POSITIVE to all of this is that I have plenty of time to focus on my workouts and my food. I can cook stuff during the day, grab 45 mins on the treadmill for extra NEAT, keep up with the laundry, cleaning, etc etc etc. So I'm choosing to see the positive side in this, as opposed to the negative, and if I should happen to get the axe, well, we will deal with it then.
Here are details for today:
AM
45 mins on treadmill (NEAT)
PM C25K - W2D2
5 min warmup
20 mins of 90 secs @5 mph / 2 mins @ 3.5 mph
I added an additional 20 mins @ 3.5 mph
5 min cooldown
50 mins total 3.04 miles total
Working is this weird beast, because it's what gives you the cash to do fun things...but it's not until you're OUT of work that you really have time to DO all those fun things...and then you're too busy job hunting/drumming up new clients/polishing that resume to appreciate the extra time. I hope you stay in the just-busy-enough to avoid stress mode, but still have enough time to take care of yourself. (Since we're all crossing our fingers here, I figured I'd get specific .)
Tracey, really hoping everything works out at your job. That's a lot of stress to have to carry around....I'm so impressed that you haven't allowed that stress to keep you from your goals!

Thanks, Cheryl!! It really is a catch-22 kind of thing.

Thanks, Jane!
Job stress is what started me on the wrong path last year. After I lost the weight working with Leigh, I was in the same situation - worried about my job with the threat of layoff hanging over my head - and I DID let it get to me. The stress eating got out of control...and voila - gained back all of the weight (and a few more lbs to go with it!) - NOT THIS TIME!! I'm very focused and will do what it takes to meet my goals!!
Here are details for today:
AM
50 mins on treadmill (NEAT)
PM TNT Phase 2 Workout B
Dynamic Warmup
10 reps of each
Jumping Jacks
Arm Circles
Lunge
Body Weight Squat
Hip Extension
Lying Straight-Leg Raise

Thoracic Rotation
Fire Hydrant In-Out
Groiners
And then the workout: Alternating Sets w/45 sec rest 1A - DB Lunges
10eax12's
10eax15's
10eax15's 1B - Scaption + Shrug
10x6.6's
10x6.6's
10x6.6's
Alternating Sets w/45 sec rest 2A - Swiss Ball Hip Extension and Leg Curl

10
10 2B - Bench Press
10x65
10x65
10x65
3 - Swiss Ball Jackknife
10
9 after falling over about 4 times, I finally gave up after 9!
I was planning on putting about 20 mins on the treadmill, but I was STARVING after the workout, so I'm having my protein shake now. Then I'm off to shower and when DH gets home we are going to have some red wine and cheese, and then he's cooking up some shrimps and scallops for dinner - YUMMMMM!

I spent almost 6 months looking for work, and gaining weight. Time I could have used to start back at the weight loss. You sound very focused this time, so I'll wish you the best of luck with your goals.

Thanks, Anne!!!
Yesterday was a rest day. Went shopping (at BJ's Club and the "regular" grocery store) and didn't do much else! Today is supposed to be pretty nice out (about 55 degrees) so DH and I may go to one of the local parks and take a stroll outside. I also want to get a weight workout in today - woke up with a headache though - so we'll see how it all plays out. I'm hoping a good breakfast of yummy crepes and some coffee make the headache go away!
"As far as (healthy) eating, either do it, or don't. Same issues repeated over and over is just insanity. We either commit to the endeavor or pay lip-service to it. This is the hardest part of the whole process, and it needs to be practiced more than the actual physical training. It's mind training." ~ Matt Thorne
"The reason that most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want most for what they want at the moment."
Tracey, so glad to hear that you're not letting the job stress get in the way of your goals! Good for you!
That new favorite snack of yours sounds yummy.... I'll have to see about finding that SF syrup around here somewhere I guess!
Thanks, Lori!
If you can't find the DaVinci syrup in your stores (I've actually seen it at the Super Walmart near the coffee!) - you can order it online at Netrition - they have all kindsa flavors!!!

Thanks Celeste! It never went away yesterday, but it wasn't terrible - just kind of a dull ache. We did get out to the park and go for a short walk, but no weight workout. That's on the agenda for today!!
3 - Side Plank
35 secs each side
35 secs each side
Then, 20 mins on the treadmill and some stretching!!
And.....finally......some good news from work! The client is ready to go!! WOOOHOOOO! In fact, they want a couple first drafts THIS FRIDAY! So it looks like I have a job for at least another couple of months.

DH has a Lion's Club meeting tonight, so I'm left to fend for myself for dinner! I'm going to make THIS for dinner:
It's basically just a mixture of ground beef, black soy beans and salsa, served on a bed of lettuce, topped with shredded cheese and avocado!
I'm going to swap out the shredded cheese for sour cream, though!
