Hi, I am Mrs. LJ. I love what this forum does for him and for others and I want to get in on it. Every once in a while I have joined LJ while he works out and he is such an inspiration. I can not even come close to keeping up with him but I just do a little moving and it feels really great. I have never been overweight but I am not in shape. I have zero strength and zero endurance. LJ has been waking me up earlier than I used to get up and encouraging me to join him outside for his work out. I think having my own log will help me want to do more. I like the people that root him on and I can’t wait to get to know them too.

This is the hardest part of the whole process, and it needs to be practiced more than the actual physical training. It's mind training." ~ Matt Thorne

I slept in and didn't work out this morning.... Lame. I know.
But we did get up and out yesterday. By the hardest. LJ and I were both going a little slow but we asked each other, "What will we post?" and that got us out. And it was great. The air was nice and cool. I did A few reps of most of what LJ did. I lost my balance on a -side plank-? I think it was- and LJ added time. Is that mean or nice? He also would not stop doing his squats till I did all ten of mine... He had to do quite a few extra.
I am not sure what all I did but I just followed him at an easier pace.
Thanks for the welcomes!
Y'all are very encouraging to us.
We got out this morning. It was nice and cold. I don't know what all I did. I just moved a little bit with LJ and did a some of the things he did. I don't have any clear cut goals yet but it does feel good to just start. I would like to be able to do a pull up.

Wow, He was done in 17 min.
I went out with him and barely started to move. I thought, "what am I going to post?" And so I went back in for a timer and a plan but he was done before I got it together! He said I better be ready tomorrow.
Welcome to the forum.
If you keep at it, someday you will look back at these first few posts about your workout and be laughing. He may have to keep up with you.

We let the chill keep us in this morning. I am such a gulf coast girl that anything below eighty degrees and I am freezing. We promised to make it up this evening. LJ did but I had to run the kids to soccer practice so he worked out with out me. I am glad that he did not let me hold him back. But in stepped providence; God's gift or His jest, I don't know. I played "adults against kids" soccer and I nearly died. It was fun, it helped the kids, and I definitely got my work out in.
That is my excuse for not posting sooner... never mind how it got that far back in the first place.
It did not take me a month to recover from playing soccer with a 12 year old girls team... just a week.
I have a goal now. I don't know when but I will be able to do a pull up. I am using LJ's blast straps in the garage to strengthen my arms. I really like the blast straps because I can do push ups and pull ups at an incline angle that I can decrease as my strength increases.

You don't have to be super serious to post here - just start with doing SOMETHING - like Wii Fit! If nothing else, you'll learn a lot reading here, and make some friends :-)

Hey there! Congrats on the Wii--it sounds like so much fun! My parents got one for my sister's family for Christmas--but with delivery problems and whatnot, they finally got it on the day they returned to CO from PA--so I didn't get to "share" it...
30 minutes of decent activity, along with being not completely sedentary the rest of the time is a HUGE improvement over a lot of people. "Seriousness" is often not present around here, believe you me. Be active, do more, eat well, and live your life. Whoop de do if you don't get all hardcore. *shrug* Nothing is wrong with wanting to just be healthier and more active and more fit.

And maybe you'll end up getting serious?!?
You are right. Getting started is the first step toward getting serious. Of course I might not get as far as the the step that takes me into serious.... but I might.

Yes, but I keep getting hit in the head with pandas and shoes... I tried a dozen times and my max score was in the 50s. I didn't even rank behind my kids. (Btw... Sometimes we are the kid. You made me laugh.)

It is fun but it also is inspiring. It keeps records for me... and that is great because I am bad about never writing anything down.
It told me my BMI and that was very sobering. I wasn't concerned about my weight before it weighed me...(with out asking permision!)
Now I think I will try to loose about 10 pounds.
I guess I have another goal now!

Besides, wii fit rawks.
Thanks! That really helped me to feel like I might be able to fit in here after all. I am glad that I can aim to improve without having to aim to be really great.

If you're honestly working to improve yourself (which you are), you do have a place here. Everyone's at different points in the road, but it's the same road nonetheless.

I was going to say that I am not embarrassed to admit that I used the wii to work out today but I read Lori's log, and Bytsi's hamster log, and Celestial moms...
and now I am embarrassed again.
I can't read anymore!
It is tooo cold for me to think about going outside. When it drops below eighty I get chili and below seventy, I freeze. It is 48 out there now, in the after noon!
Running in place and getting hit in the head with pandas will have to do for today.
Oh, I did haul some broken limbs out of the pasture yesterday. That makes me feel better.

x2! You ABSOLUTELY have a place here!

Don't sell yourself short... avoiding those pandas is hard work! Not to mention the boots too....
Seriously, I think it's a character flaw of mine that I am constantly comparing myself to other people, so I totally hear you on this. I am REALLY trying to work on this, because I know that all it does is stress me out and make me feel like I should be (fill in the blank) stronger, thinner, a better mom.... etc. The list goes on. I'm trying to see things from a more optimistic perspective.... like when I look at Bytsi's log or Celeste's log and see how strong they are, I remind myself that they got that way from hard work over a period of time... and that's something I can do too, if I set my mind to it. Try not to let it stress you, and PLEASE don't be embarrassed! You're HERE.
