I do tae kwon do, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, and MMA. Since my training has changed to really focus on these--and competing--I'm starting a new log.
Tae Kwon Do: 7 years (started August 2001), black belt
BJJ: ~5 months (started April 3, 2008), white belt
kickboxing: started a week ago But it'll probably be my first competition, in November
The local universities started back yesterday, so we expected a bunch of guys who took off for the summer to be there, but only two returning guys showed up. Small-ish class.
I got to roll with both new guys. They both work technique. Nice to roll with them after all the muscling new guys from the summer. Did roll with one of those, too, and it's a huge difference.
* * * * *
Kickboxing tournament in November: The kickboxing instructor had already talked to me about doing a tournament in November (and that was before I'd even had class with him!). I heard more about it this weekend at the tournament we hosted, and, after seeing the tourney, I really do want to do it.
I need to check with them about the weight class I'm shooting for, but I think I'll need to lose at least 5lbs (and probably 10) by then. So I'm trying to eat at a deficit and still train all out. I'll see how it goes...
Tuesday nights are now officially all gi class, which I'm happy about. Next week when TKD starts, I'll have to leave on Tuesdays & Thursdays after the first hour. Gi used to be after a beginners' class on Tuesday, and I would have missed it for the whole year. Also, Tim and the guys are talking about adding more classes, including more gi classes, throughout the week.
Warmup wasn't too bad, though I'm still having trouble with squat jumps; too much quad, not enough posterier chain. Then we worked a hip throw, then did live takedowns and then live rolling starting from standing. Usually we start on the ground because most people don't know takedowns and we don't want injuries from people who don't know takedowns trying to do takedowns. I wasn't having luck on the takedowns, but I think I did alright once we got on the ground.
Worked with one of the guys from last night on one of the takedown drills. He's probably 180/190lbs, maybe more (still bad with the guessing). And he wasn't even trying to do anything with me. I told him that he could work, too, and he said that no, he'd just end up using strength, hauling me up by my lapels and slamming me down. So he just let me work. Went with another returning guy next, and he picked me up by my lapels and slammed me down. Yeah. Had to roll with that guy later, too, and he just sat on me most of the round and hardly did anything.
My knuckles are scraped raw from all the gi grabbing tonight. Ouch!
It was apparently "bring a friend to class" night; several guys brought a friend, and a few more showed up, so we had a rather crowded mat.
Warmup wasn't too rough, and I was even beating some of the guys on the drills, until the mountain climber/pushup finisher. I turn to jelly on that one. Pleh. I think most of my problem is just not being able to breathe in the mountain-climber position. Then we drilled basic triangle from guard. Usually in the advanced class, we'd do something more, well, advanced, but there were so many new guys so we did something basic.
Then rolling. And though I was defending and avoiding submissions for the most part, the guys I rolled with were muscling me all over. The worst is when they grab a limb, jerk hard in the direction of a submission, and, in overpowering me, hurt me before they even get the submission. One tried an ankle lock on me last night (which we have not learned); he rolled me over and twisted my ankle. I couldn't tap because he was still pushing me over but it hurt so I had to holler, "Tap! Stop!" Half the class stopped to make sure I was okay. Pleh. I don't want to be the wimpy girl, but I'm really tired of getting hurt.
Just looking in. Your title caught my eye. I am not knowledgeable in your field of training, but I will be reading to learn. Best of luck with your training.

Lot of new guys, so a packed mat. Everyone was running in to each other all night.
Rocked the warmup again. I moved my pre-class shake back to ~2 hrs before (had been at ~30 min), and I seem to have more energy and less general pleh during the warmups. Then pummeling drills. The rest of the night was jab/cross and moving, and most of that was our coach explaining to the guys how to jab and cross.
At some point, I got a blood blister on the bottom of my right big toe. Couldn't put weight on it because it was so tender. Drained it at home, but it decided to throb all night long; still hurts today. Sleep was sporadic last night.
Class started an hour later today, but no one else was there so I just worked with the instructor on some combinations. Most of them built on what we did last night in MMA, since he was there. Then a little sparring.
Two ladies came in (for a private lesson, I think; I should ask...). They do the cardio kickboxing and I think want to start actually competing, so they're doing a class that's between cardio kickboxing and full-contact kickboxing and working toward full-contact. I did the drills with them and then rotated in for sparring rounds.
Warmup was good; then we drilled armbar from guard and two variations on a takedown to arm choke. Then rolling. First and third rolls were with muscling guys; second, fourth, and fifth rolls were with technique guys. Again, a huge difference in what I'm able to do. However, when I do roll with muscling guys anywhere in the lineup, I get stuck in defending and in not looking for submissions--and sometimes not even trying sweeps--because they shove me down and overpower me. And then I forget to go back to normal with the technique guys. Meh. The two muscling guys were constantly trying to do something similar to the arm choke from earlier but kept turning it into a neck crank. Ouch.
After most of the guys had left, my coach asked if I was alright after the guys had jerked my neck around. I said yeah, I'm used to it; he said he'd nearly stopped us and that I shouldn't have to deal with that all the time, so from now on he's going to only let certain guys roll with me, as much as possible. He said I'm not going to get any better going with them, if all they do is squash me and crank my neck. In some ways, I'm completely relieved; in others, I just don't want to be a sissy. Although, when he was pointing out what they'd done, both the instructors piped up and said that that's what those guys do to them all the time, too. (But the two of them can turn it back up on the guys when they do that; I can't yet.)
Intermediate workout shake and a two hour break, then back for...
Kickboxing
Three new guys and me. Evil warmup--or maybe I'm just tired from BJJ. Lots of drills. Then kick drills, then kick conditioning drills. Then punch drills. Then sparring. Light contact.
I missed blocking one punch from a really tall guy; it caught me on the upper lip and dropped me to the ground. It wasn't a hard punch; it just must have caught exactly right. Not a knock out, just a knock down. Fine, though, and got up to finish the sparring.
More returning guys are trickling in. I think everyone's still working out their class and work schedules, so it's different guys almost every night still.
Warmup was light . Dunno what's going on there. Drilled the same takedown to arm choke from Saturday and then a different variation on it. Then rolling. Tim checked on me every round to make sure I was with one of the controlled guys, and I was trying to get them, too. Last round I did get one of the muscling guys; I just worked defense and moving my hips. I've decided, though, that if I do get those guys again that I'm just going to tap right before they overpower me. There's no point in even letting them jerk my joint out. By then I'm already hurt. Had to do it once with this guy.
When we were working the takedowns, Tim paired me up with the biggest guy in class--a foot taller than me and 80-90lbs heavier. But he won't hurt me, so that's why we worked together. We had to stay on this for a while because most of the guys weren't there on Saturday and were having trouble.
At some point, Tim came over to talk to me and my partner and explained why he wanted this guy working with me and why he wanted only certain guys rolling with me. He said the muscling guys would crank me in to something and then grin and strut like they'd submitted one of the Gracies. (I always turn away from them after they hurt, er, submit me so I can regain my composure and remind myself not to knock their head off, so I'd never seen their faces after.)
The gi class is also the beginners' class. When new guys start and come to the beginners' class, they don't have a gi. Tonight, more than half the class was new; therefore, no gis. Tim wasn't there, so the two assistant instructors were teaching and not rolling, which left me with only one guy on the approved list.
Warmup was again too light, although I was overheating in my gi and so didn't mind. We tried to roll next, but over half the class had no clue what to do. I worked with a TKD guy on some basic stuff.
We drilled a choke tonight that has different variations for gi or nogi. Only problem, when we went to drill, is that they wanted us to pair up with the new guys, who didn't have gis, and we all wanted to work the gi variation. (You have to grab the back of the guy's collar to set it up.) I did work with one of the gi guys, the one guy on the approved list. But the whole class was just lopsided with so many guys without gis.
(Just thought of a brilliant idea--should've paired with a new guy and given him mygi top to wear. Then I could work gi and he could work nogi. I'll have to remember that for next time.)
We didn't actually roll because of all the new guys. Instead we did a guard pass drill. I got new guys both times, and I got drilled in the face with knees and elbows multiple times and muscled around. Not. Happy. Camper. But then class was over and I had to split for TKD.
TKD
Tonight was my first night teaching the beginners. (They're mine, all mine. *evil cackle*) Didn't go too badly, although I was told after that I need to be louder. That, I can do. I just have to remember to stay loud. That's the trick.
I talked to the kickboxing instructor on Saturday. I need to get to 118lbs for the tournament in November. On Saturday, after BJJ (and therefore probably dehydrated), I came in at 124. Today it was back up to 127. I really need to get out to the store and get a digital scale of my own so I can track it daily; I keep forgetting what it said last week, so I'm not sure if 127 is a setback or a down turn...
I'm trying to eat at around 1600 calories while still keeping up this training schedule. I was thinking of trying to get it off now and then maintain until the tournament, a la FLTS, but I might just have to slowly take it off all the way through the tournament so I don't burn out. Probably going to have to adjust up soon; most days I'm ready to eat my lunch bag. Lots of training, and with TKD going until after 11pm, not as much sleep as I need. So something's probably gotta give, and about the only thing I have control over is the calories.
Also might be doing a BJJ tournament later this month. I really want to, but I've got to talk to the guys about it. Weight classes for it, for girls, are <135 and >135, so I'm good there. Might be able to justify a rest week after that to my self.
First, didn't get to bed until after 1 a.m. (TKD goes until 11). Then, tired and cranky all day, so I took today as a refeed day.
Class tonight--again with the new guys, and lots of the guys who throw me around. Warmup wasn't too bad. Actually made it all the way through the mountain climber/pushup finisher. Then some light rolling. I think Tim might have said something to a few of the guys who usually knock me around because they were not doing it tonight. Well, at least not nearly as bad as normal.
Drilled a continuation on the takedown to arm choke series; this time if you can't get the choke, how to take the back to RNC. Worked with a guy about my size, but he hadn't been around for the earlier stuff and he has a wrestling background, so he was trying to do it another way and was turning it in to a neck crank instead. Finally got him sorted out.
Then more rolling. Again got one of the guys who beats me up usually, but he wasn't doing it for most of the round. Did try to jerk my arm out for a kimura once, and I knew I couldn't get out of it, so I just tapped before he pulled it out.
After class, the guys were goofing around and doing bicep curls with the Olympic bar. (They do know better, but they were just being silly.) I did some pullups, and got out 2 sets of 4, a new record! And a set of 2.
Been communing with a bottle of Nyqil, boxes of tissues, and a mountain of cough drops since Thursday. Who gets a cold in August?! Haven't been to any classes, just been sitting at home drinking chicken noodle soup, Gatorade, and tea and eating way too many carbs. Should be good to go by Monday, though.
Still sick. Almost over it, I think. But finally had to go to BJJ on Monday just to watch, because I was going nuts being away from there. Still am, but it's probably better for everyone that I stay away until I'm really better. Well, my dad has been after me to have a full rest week; by tomorrow it'll be a full week. Not exactly restful, but oh well...
I'm mostly better now; only one side of my nose is still sore.
Kickboxing, last night
Went to kickboxing last night. One other guy showed up. Class was overall fairly light, at least compared to the other classes I've had. At the end, we did a movement drill in the ring; I spent the entire time blocking my nose because it hurt when they hit it.
BJJ-ish, this morning
We live in a college town, and when there are home games almost no one shows up. So Tim doesn't officially hold class but just has some MMA rounds and an open mat. I went and hung out while they did the MMA work; they're getting one of our guys ready for his fight (either October or November, I forgot which).
During open mat, while Tim worked with that guy on his jiu-jitsu, the other instructor showed us a couple of guard passes and some armbar escapes. Then I got to roll with that instructor for a long while. Much fun.
Also talked to one of the other guys, who's careful about not using strength against me. (The one who didn't want to do throws on me because he knew he'd just pick me up and throw me down.) Over the summer he went to a school at home and was rolling with a girl about my size. She got him in an armbar and he just overpowered her and pulled his arm out. The instructor there stopped class and chewed him out. Not for overpowering her, but for using strength over technique.
Smallish class tonight. For some reason, I gassed during the warmup. (Could be that week off, could be the water weight, whatever. But totally gassed.) Then we rolled a few times, and I could hardly breath. Smaller class means fewer technique guys, and I had to roll twice with muscling guys.
Usually we only do two rolls if we roll before drills, but Tim called for one more. It was a little shorter while he ran in the back and grabbed a purple belt. At the end of the roll, one of the guys got promoted to purple. So now we have 3 purples.
Third guy wasn't muscling much, but he was only trying to throw an armbar from guard and, when I stacked him (because he was way loose with his legs), to switch to a triangle, except I had both arms in so it didn't work. Tim pulled him aside after our roll--and I eavesdropped--to show him what to do, so now I know how to counter next time. Oh, and sometime during that roll, the guy accidently hit me in the eye, so I have a little shiner now. He noticed and apologized, though.
Then drills, then rolling again. Odd number in class, too, so my first roll this time was with my coach Tim. I haven't rolled with him in months, so that was fun. It's a serious leap from rolling even with the purple belts. So much pressure, and he's so fast, too! But both during and after our roll, he said I was doing really good. Yippee! That made up for all the squashing before and after.
Next roll was with a newer guy who was pretty much only going for guillotines, even when there wasn't much chance of it working. But he'd get a neck crank, and I'd have to tap. Pleh. Helped him with the rear naked choke (RNC) at one point since he was turning it into another neck crank. He bopped me in the nose a few times, too, and I was bleeding a bit by the end.
I should really grab one of the advanced guys on rolls, but I kind of feel bad always trying to go with them. They need to work, too, and they don't get much with me... Maybe go for one per class; then at least I'll have one roll where I get to really work.
Everyone had a gi tonight, except the one guy who only comes every few weeks because of his job. He'd missed the memo. Several of the guys had to buy their gis right before class, but they had them. Medium-ish size class; about half the class is actually with the judo class that's after ours, but their instructor wasn't there tonight so they joined us. Which meant lots of new guys.
Warmup was good. Actually harder than last night's advanced class warmup, which gassed me, but I was nailing this one. Until we got to partner drills that involved picking up your partner. I tried for the smallest guy in the class, but someone else had him first, so I went with the next-smallest guy I could find... who was quite a big jump. (Why don't we have more small guys??) Couldn't lift him, though. Could drag him for the second drill, a grip drill. Grab your partner's lapels and haul him to the end of the mat, then drag him back. Third drill was pullups on their lapels; they stood over you, you reached up for a deep cross grip, and then you did pullups. He nearly dragged me down on his turn, though!
Then some knee-on-belly drills and eventually a choke that turns into an armbar from there. Then we rolled. We had our 3 regular purple belts (up from 2 with the new promotion) and then a ton of new white belts. Yay, fun for me. (If fun = knees/elbows to the face without an apology...) I kept trying to get in with the purple belts, but Tim was trying to pair them with the new guys to teach.
So lots of smashing on me for a few rounds. Kept having to run to the bathroom to stop my nose from bleeding because of the knees/elbows. My last roll was with a new guy. It's his second night. His first night was about 3 months ago. So... At some point, he starts trying to "teach" me the armbar from guard. Except it wasn't right. I was trying to do it right because I'd had problems with it in the previous roll. He kept "correcting" me, finally going so far as to move my arms and legs where he thought they should be. Which did two things: 1) put him in a great position to pass my guard and 2) put me in a fabulous position to side kick him in the face. I resisted #2, but just barely.
Very much cranky at the end of the night, so I was very glad to see the end of class and run away to TKD. Played the Name Game with the beginners, since there are a bunch of them, and then taught random things to the next two classes. Waiting on my gi to get through the wash now. It's not something that you can leave until tomorrow...
After the usual warmup, we did a few rounds of live rolling. Then a few rounds of live takedowns.
Except... I'm terrified of takedowns. Dislocated my elbow in a takedown sparring match 3 years ago. I'm not really scared of doing that again, but I do not like working takedowns live.
First two rounds weren't bad; got an experienced high school wrestler who took me down gently (though fast) and one of the instructors. Once my brain got unstuck on him, and I remembered that I trust him completely, I started trying to work more. Next two rounds were with newer guys who I don't trust. I just tried to defend and to cling when they took me down.
Then a round that started on our feet, but once we got to the ground we could stay. So I let my partner take me down immediately and stayed down. Then a round starting on the ground. Once on the ground, though, my brain was still flipping out over the takedowns and I had a hard time remember any jiu-jitsu.
On Tuesday, I got a small bruise under my left eye. Last night, I got a great big ol' goose-egg and bruise under my right eye, courtesy of a new guy's elbow. (He did apologize immediately.) At TKD, the other black belts told me I need to quit getting beat up because it'll give the club a bad reputation. It's trying to fade away this morning (boo!)
Mostly drills last night. Our coach wasn't there, so they wanted to do a circuit, but we had 15 people in class, which would have made for a looong circuit. Warmup, then pummeling drills (got my black eye here), then shadow boxing. Then the kickboxing instructor put us through a drill that we do at KB class; the guys made me go first because I've done it before. Ended with a cross-hook + slipping drill.
TKD after until 11.
* * * * *
Making weight for kickboxing tournament: scale said 125 yesterday. That's down after gaining so much water weight while sick. (Way too much sodium!) So I still have 7 pounds to go by November. I need to get back to tracking; got out of the habit while sick.
My black eye is growing and appears to be ready to start turning pretty colors. (My mother is appalled. And even more appalled that I'm so happy to have it.)
Kickboxing today started with a quick warmup jog and then some heavy bag work. Then punch combinations while holding 5-lb weights. Then we sparred in rounds for the rest of class. My arms were exhausted toward the end!! After pushups and punches last night and then the 5-lb weight drills at the beginning, sheesh! That did, however, force me to defend more and to kick more. The last round I did, about halfway through I just gave up trying to punch and only kicked.
Might have mentioned this before, but in my TKD style we do continuous round sparring. That is, you don't break after you score like most TKD styles (Olympic style); instead, you keep going until the end of the round. Judges award points throughout the round; most points at the end of 3 rounds wins it. We also use our hands quite a bit, while most other styles don't.
Full-contact kickboxing rules are mostly the same as our TKD rules, as far as I can tell so far. (Only difference I've really noticed is that the face is not a target area for TKD, but is for KB.) So when we spar in kickboxing, I'm mostly sparring my TKD way. It seems to some people as if I've picked kickboxing up quickly, but really there are only a few tweaks I need to make to my TKD sparring. (Like blocking my face. Doh!)
So tired now... BJJ in the morning, KB in the afternoon. Whee...
Not too many guys. We warmed up on our own, then rolled to warm up more. Then worked the elevator sweep. (We'd worked this several weeks ago, when only 3 of us were there. But they didn't tell me the name then.) Then a variation where you get the overhook instead of the underhook and pin their arms inside, between your chests. Then a few more rounds of rolling.
I got in with 3 of the purple belts. Actually, only one of the guys there is a muscler, though I did roll with him. At one point, I was in the fetal position against him trying to defend a kimura or armbar. Decided the other night that I have a lot of flexibility so I should use it. Got my knee up on my arm to defend it; worked pretty well, I guess, since he moved on to something else.
Even though I forgot to review my notebook this morning, I did remember to go slowly through what I know. So whatever I was in, I was trying to make sure I was doing it all right. Two of the guys I rolled with told me that I had a really good half-guard going and that they'd been trying to avoid it the whole time. Also pulled off a twister-to-mount move one of the instructors had shown the other night and that he uses all the time (apparently it's an Eddie Bravo move) -- and on him, too. Usually he sees everything coming and decides to let me have it or not, but I got to mount and he started in on, "No way! Where'd that come from?! What's this, using my moves. Who taught you that?" Granted, he swept me immediately after, but it was one of those moments when you realize that you're not just a complete spaz.
Two hour break (and a bad decision to eat a sandwich from Panera Bread), and then:
Kickboxing, this afternoon
So... tired. Just want a nap. But no, jogging, sprinting, etc. etc. to warm up. I push as hard as I can; I know it's good for me. (But, oh, goodness, I so want to quit some times.)
We sparred most of the class, just like yesterday. I think most of the reasons is because we're 5-6 weeks out from the tournament. I have so much to work on! Hitting harder (black belt level; c'mon, girl, you remember what that feels like), moving my head, keeping my eyes open (oops), slipping, moving after throwing anything, breathing... and I'm sure I'm missing more stuff...
After sparring, more conditioning drills. So... tired...
So far, we haven't see the crazy mat-crowding that the guys were expecting. Could be because they moved the academy at the end of last year and the rest of the guys haven't caught on yet. I dunno. Small class tonight, half new.
Our new purple belt tried to run the warmup, but he kept forgetting things and doing them out of order. Not that there's a real order, but drills like forward rolls should be at the end because they make me dizzy...
Rolled a few times to loosen up. Then we drilled basic stuff: americano from mount and armbar from mount. Good to work because the new guys (and in that, I'm including some of the guys who come a lot but still act like they're totally new; mostly, the musclers) never do it right.
Then some more rolling to finish up. I did manage to avoid the muscling guys that were there and got in with blues and purples most of the night. Did get one new guy on the warmup rolls, but I just went easy while he wore himself out.
Looks like the judo class has moved to Monday night so all those guys can come to BJJ gi. So we had a full mat last night.
Warmup was a little crazier than usual. We did the partner drag again, for grip strength. I had to wait in line to drag one of the smaller guys. Then a few rounds of rolling.
Drilled a variation on the baseball choke; this time you get the first hand in, but then spin around their head and switch sides before sinking the choke all the way in. Then drilled a front choke from mount and what to do if they bridge over (bridging actually makes it tighter).
Then more rolling. The purple belts were checking on me to make sure I was getting good partners, and one of them rolled with me when only musclers were left. He kept catching me in triangles, but he said he'd work with me on a defense or counter for those; I'm just not noticing them until they're on and getting tight. I know one counter, but I can't seem to make it work; at least, not against him, but that could be the problem there.
Then off to TKD. Home, shower, washing gi put me in bed by 1 a.m. Then my grandfather, who's visiting, took a left instead of a right out of the bathroom at 3 a.m. and fell down the stairs. He's okay, a few cuts and bruises, but it woke everyone up. Then a doctor's appt early this morning to make sure that the funny looking places on my leg are not MRSA; they're not. So not nearly enough sleep...
Not enough sleep + not enough food = not enough energy.
Made it through class, though I'm not sure how. Did skip the kickboxing class afterward, which I'm supposed to start going to, just because I was too tired. (I think they moved the class to Wed night so that I could go. Oops.) We were supposed to have a girl about my size start KB tonight, but she didn't show up. Not sure if I could've toughed it out even if she'd showed.
Warmup, rolling, drilling, rolling. So tired, which meant I rolled yucky, which meant I felt even yuckier and unhappy. Pleh.
It took a while, but I'm finally realizing that I'm not a 19-year-old male. (While that probably isn't a surprise to you guys, it's actually something I have a hard time acknowledging sometimes.) And that I can't train and eat like one and stay sane. So, while I'm not quitting anything, I'm definitely backing down on the total number of hours that I'm in class. BJJ isn't getting touched, though. I love my BJJ.
Also, I've been stuck around 125 for a month now. Goal is 118 for the kickboxing tournament. I finally started thinking back over all the stuff I learned from FLTS and realized that I'm not recovering. At. All. Sunday has been my only day off, and I spend it mostly asleep. All my classes are intense. Sleep is less because of late TKD classes. And I'm so tired at night and so rushed in the morning that I'm skipping foam rolling/stretching at night. In other words, everything that works, I haven't been doing. Doh. Which explains the stuck scale.
So, until the kickboxing tournament is over, I'm taking Thursday nights (MMA class) off from training. When I told Tim this last night, he said it was probably a good idea. I also talked to the TKD instructor, and I can leave after the first two classes, which will give me an extra hour of sleep. (I will probably eventually get away from instructing there, mostly because of the late hours.)
And even though I'm training for the kickboxing tournament, I also need to cut back there or move around my hours for that so I'm not training every day. The 3-classes-in-24-hours on Friday/Saturday is wrecking me, especially since about half of both kickboxing classes is conditioning work and the middle BJJ class is exhausting. I'll start going to Friday or Saturday class, not both, though I'll also go to the Wednesday KB techniques class. It's far less intense, though, and I'll miss the warmup/conditioning because it overlaps with BJJ.
So, yeah, trying to find ways to do almost everything without completely running myself into the ground...
Wow - great a-ha moment there Leslie! You do need rest and recovery, even if you're still pretty young & fit... Glad to hear you figured out you're not actually a 19-year-old male
The kickboxing (& nearly everything else) instructor has created a self-defense system in which you learn a bit in lots of different styles, and then test them all together. They're testing today (when I left, they were beating the snot of out each other, bare-knuckle), so no kickboxing.
BJJ, this morning
Small class. I guess because it was raining? Or everyone is confused about which Saturdays we have class vs. open mat.
Anyway, short warmup, rolling, drills, and rolling.
During my very first roll, with a newer guy, he suddenly jumped up and ran off. The instructors said, "What'd you do to him?!" When he finally came back, he had a lot of tape around one part of his arm. Seems he has ringworm, and the band-aid he had over it was coming off. Thankfully he noticed! It was pretty hilarious though: "Where the heck did he go??".
