Shopping: My daughter was the stylist for my evening, and I had a task to perform: go get black skinny jeans. This is to go with one of the two shirts she chose me out of her closet and that came back with me in my suitcase.
Husband went with me. It's amazing how quickly shopping can go when you have explicit instructions to get one specific thing.
I now have my first pair of skinny jeans. Surprising how good they look on someone with an ass. Size 9 juniors. If my child had been with me, I'm sure they would have been one size smaller. However, her mother doesn't think jeans need to be painted like latex to look good.
I embrace my curves but don't want to suffocate them.
Also get a wool wrap chosen my husband.
He buys both.
Food: husband feeds me: KFC Honey BBQ wings & biscuit. I pair this with peas and pasta at home.
Dolled-up: jeans in ankle high-heeled boots (wide heel), long sleeve high neck top, tank with detachable chain (attached), neutral face with red lips, natural hair (down with curls defined). Husband hands me a rum and sweet ice tea (with lemon) drink. This could be his new specialty. Out the door.
Evening: spent with my husband and the people in the videos above. Baby & husband collaborated on this gift two months ago. We are on the floor & the FedEx forum is packed.
Refreshment: I smiled a little too pretty for the bartender who made me a very subtle but strong Long Island Iced Tea. And hubby buys me a slice of pepperoni & sausage pizza.
Afters: none-ya
Thoughts: after almost a week of debauchery in which I am over the moon at how much the people I love have thought of me, I'll carry these warm feelings as I settle back into the old normal with a new age.

I am under a weird cloud right now too sista. Hanging on with ya here!
Is this better pretty girl (hint, hint, not a cat person). Mine is still there in the background very funky.

This is probably true. Sweets by themselves have always been sickly sweet to me. I like sweet toned down with a meal, so I don't do too much desserty stuff by itself.

This place is called The Flying Biscuit Cafe. And they make awesome grits. Had that meal for dinner & rest for breakfast, and the grits were still good.

Hi Julie. Good to hear from you. I had a blast with my daughter. But we still had two estrogen-driven, strong women episodes -- but the we like each other part helped us smooth them out fast

Creamed up sweet stuff just kind of makes me gag. I've never liked more than just a thin layer of frosting, so I've always scraped it off cake. Probably because I like pie better.
I'm kind of the same. In fact, with pie, I'm just more into the fruit filling than the crust.
Hi Di: I'm caught up with you (got you in the reader). Told my Sisters-in-Law that they wouldn't catch me in Rockford Oct-April. However, I had to make an exception when they planned (and organized) my wedding for early Oct. I still bring long sleeves every time I visit.
Anne: for fruit pies, I like a 1:1 ratio of crust with fruit in every bite. But I'm picky about both. This is what happens when you are raised by someone who cooks well. I want the crust to be light, flaky, AND BUTTERY. And the fruit to be soft and have created a juice that I'd like to just taste on its own
Misc: if you think I haven't been working out, you'd be wrong. Still zenning in my on playground. Start following a program then that program doesn't suit my day, I do whatever I'm willing to do. All good as far as I'm concerned. However, the last 2 full body workouts I did, I made them short and sweet because I did them in the afternoon/evening and didn't warm up. Nothing deleterious occurred. I liked the shorter workout, so I'm formulating on how to warm up faster than 15-20 min and still feel like I'm warmed up. Given that the no warm-up ones were good, I suppose I should be able to find a happy medium.

Yeah, sometimes I come across a word that I like and it sticks but I'm a logic girl by nature.
Tracey: good for you looking it up. I had a less than rewarding experience when I was reading "The Prince of Tides." I think I had to look up something on every other page.
I just had a midnight snack. It's been miserable all day, and I had to go to the grocery store. I decided that I wanted some Cream of Wheat. Since I haven't had any since my kids were little, I bought a small box. Made it for the first time with milk instead of water. Added brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter. Ate it with a Hawaiian sweet roll. Heavenly and will have the rest for breakfast.
My husband came in the kitchen while I was cooking it and asked me if I was sick. LOL.

That Chrisette Michelle song was just added to my playlist! Why didn't I know about her? She's got such a wonderful quality to her voice...jazzy and sultry but smooth. Love her.
Cream of wheat!!! My daddy used to make it for mer for breakfast when I was sick...after it's done add a little milk, and then maple syrup...mmmm!
Sounds like you had an awesome night...skinny jeans and all...we all need tl love our curves...god knows our husband's do...lol!

This is freakin' food porn!

Yeah, me too. I'm very process oriented when it comes to working out. I want 'em all to be fun and feel good. A few minutes faster, a few pounds more or less, all seem so remote compared to the work I'm doing at the moment.
I've had a lot of thoughts generated from the two of your posts, but I'm just going to give the cliff notes version.
I want to grow old gracefully. Strong bones, my own teeth, minimal aches and pains, pliable and strong limbs, peaceful, resilient, close loving relationships, enjoyable food, celebrated femininity and sexuality.
I love the feeling of satisfaction I get from nurturing both my inside and outside trying to keep my whole system in homeostasis. Sometimes the enjoyment comes afterwards, but I always strive to make it come with the journey.
I like to look like me. I'm not afraid to eat food I like. I'm not frightened to view a workout as a template instead of a prescription.
I don't bite.

Sesame Street is 40. Oh the fond memories. Re-posting in my log so I don't have to search.
And I still knew some of the words to the Ladybugs' Picnic

I'm sure that I probably watched it in the first years. I'd have been about 3, but I don't remember it specifically. Grover was definitely my favourite, although I'm kind of partial to Oscar as well.
My fave Sesame Street characters are the Count, Cookie Monster, Grover and most of all, Oscar. He was a nasty piece of work back when the show was still relatively new.
I never really did like kid shows, even when I was a kid. Mom says (and I clearly remember) I used to enjoy Dick Cavett, Tom Snyder, and that sort of thing.
So Sesame Street is one year younger than me and I don't think I've ever seen an entire show -- but I do remember the toaster-fixing dude. Does that count?

I liked Oscar back in the day too (and he was a nasty piece of work). I just couldn't think of a particular skit for him.
The most hilarious thing (to me) is that I talked to my mom later on that day, and she and I reminisced on some other old skits we liked.

I remember watching Sesame Street and Saturday morning cartoons, then mostly playing outside. My mom was a big fan of Cannon, Barnaby Jones, Mannix, and Ironside; my dad the Wild, Wild, West, Bonanza, and Kung Fu, so those are favorites of mine too.
Now I don't cut on the TV unless someone calls and tells me or I see on the internet that something's happened or that a musical act I'd like to see is coming on.
Yes, Mr. Hooper counts.

SATURDAY
35-minute walk around neighborhood with hubby. Unmapped.
Stopped to look at a boarded-up building
Building had window air conditioner security grills.
Bars looked perfect for a chin-up, and I decided to try.
Tippy-toed and was able to wrap my hands around a bar. Started to jump up but I WENT UP LIKE BUTTER.
I screamed with joy and startled the people on the porch of a house behind the building.
Went home & tried ×2 on the jungle gym in the backyard but only got ¼-way up – On the jungle gym can’t get my hands comfortably wide. On bars (hands close grip). On outside rails (hands neutral grip). Neither feels solid.
Woke up ×2 in the night WITH MY FOREARMS THROBBING. 2nd time put on IcyHot. It helped.
The chin-up made me very happy.

Love this! We're never to old to "play" on found objects and jungle gyms.
Congrats on the chin up!

Always great to feel yourself doing something you didn't know you could do.
