I'll have to take some time off work to go by and see for myself, but yes, the size difference was my main concern, especially with the non-metal bottom (even if the mold is the same, the bottoms might add a quarter-inch to the overall height, but I guess I could just, ya know, remove them *shrug*). I'm also a little OCD about matching sets, so I'll see if I can get past that, too
My apollos have that rubber thing, but it's just attached by a hex bolt.
If those are the same ones that Tom has, maybe he can flip it over and look.
If they are the actual manufacturer, as them if they have any returns or "rejects" that you can take a look at (and get on the cheap).

Man just like we used to do with the dice for D&D...er I mean...just like the nerds used to do when they played with their funny dice......
Solid idea. Mine are easy to figure out. One pair. 16kg. LOL
The ones in the pic look similar to my Canadian Kettlebells, but I would be unwilling to say they are from the same mold, without having them side by side.

Ooooo, good idea on the rejects. That seems oddly fitting for me.
Maybe a White-Out pen?
We used crayons I think for the dice. Maybe get a white wax crayon?

I think it is more likely the source will be his hands from the massive amounts of KB work he will be doing.

Notes:
--Well, it's SOMEthing, at least. Lost Dog has been a great sounding board in getting me to, ya know, finally get a workout done. For the foreseeable future, my training will be KB-centric with the occasional BW conditioning, interval, or density day thrown in, but I have a feeling that maintaining good, challenging KB work will take care of most of that anyway. I did plan some core work, but considering that that's pretty well involved here, and considering that I just like to have core workouts separate from my primary lifting, I'll do something for it another day. Again, there's a major lack of planning here--basically, I have a boatload of lifts slotted into categories, and I'll be picking one movement from four or five categories to make up a workout. Sets, reps, and loads TBD by how I feel that day, but I do plan to set some benchmarks in a couple weeks after I've gotten used to moving around again. I'm using Steve Cotter's videos for ideas and instruction; auxiliary stuff will be a hodgepodge of Ross Enamait, Mark Verstegen, and Grey Cook among others. I've always been so needy of a plan that I tend to stall if I don't have one, but considering some other long-standing discomforts I've been facing down lately, this should just be another notch in the belt.
--Today, instead of even discomfort, I felt nothing in my left foot. Granted, I was sitting down for 95% of the day, but I'll take it since there were countless days when sitting did nothing for it.
--The girl was nice enough to run by the KB place today. Despite their website saying otherwise, there were no 48kg KBs available, just 44kg and 40kg, so I just got the 40kg. I also learned that they discontinued the black version in favor of the grey due to cost increases--the black were made in India while the grey are made in China, and apparently, there's a major cost discrepancy now. Whatever. They did have a 32kg (my next step up) in grey, but since I couldn't compare the grip to the black over the phone, I'll wait until I can get by there myself. At any rate, the 48kg was probably a long way from getting used anyway--this 40kg is HYOOGE-ish. I almost want to buy a cannon to see if I can launch it

What is Hip PNF? I am also not familiar with the arm bar. But I can look that up
Why the 40? Just picking up so you have, or do you have a use for it, apart from boarding enemy vessels that is.

Just standing hip abductions and adductions with a twist. At the top of the abduction, your toes should be pointing toward the ceiling. At the "top" of the adduction, your toes should be pointed in the other direction. You'll feel it, probably in your glutes/sciatic. Enjoy.
The arm bar is a odd name for the move IMHO, but whatever. This is a decent explanation:

The place I get my KBs discontinued their black glossy style (getting too expensive to produce), so I wanted the biggest KB they still had, which I thought was a 40kg (turns out they still have a 44kg that I might go back and get), since shipping is a bear on KBs. I figure I can justify shipping on, say, a 30kg or even 36kg (which they also still have), but anything heavier starts to get cost-prohibitive. I'm hopefully getting back by there Friday morning for an early to-me-from-me Christmas. Might as well get what I can.

On shipping: yes. Funny thing about weights. They weigh a lot. Shipping sux.
When I got mine locally it was interesting they were branded as "Canadian Kettlebells" and I paid less than they advertise them for on their site. I am not really sure how that works unless they offer DEEP discounts to dealers. I think they were $79+shipping on the site and I paid $75 or something withouth shipping.
There is another place that is supposed to be carrying them, so I may go check into those.
However the guys I got the original 16s from are also the people who host the KB class, so if I was to start hitting that they would become pretty convinient and cost effective for getting new bells....
Decisions Decisions.

superset x 3, ~60RI
--2-arm KB bent-over swing x 10 @ 12kg
--KB suitcase hold x 12sec each side* @ 40kg
KB hook swings x 20 @ 12kg
* denotes timed to left hand max hold, right hand matched
Notes:
--Warm-up was minimal since I didn't intend for this to be a strenuous routine, one because I'm easing back into the whole workout thing, two because my moon and my hammies were a touch sore today. I just wanted to get moving, break into a light sweat, and try some new movements. Mission accomplished.
--Know what's funny? Trying to handle raw eggs immediately after a workout.

mini-circuit x 2, 0RI
--Thera Band down woodchops x 10/side
--1-arm KB windmills x 10/side @ 6kg
Grey Cook squat, lunge, hurdle step progressions x 1 each
sun salutation x 1
Notes:
--Light and lazy, just something to do something. Hammies are still sore and a little tight. Also a rough day at work, so I didn't really feel like busting one out. I'm finding that though I have great ideas for workouts while at work, the motorcycle ride home tends to drain my motivation. That's not to say I won't do SOMEthing most days, but for instance, today I thought I might take advantage of the sunlight and relatively warm temperatures to flip a tire and/or pound it with a sledgehammer, but by the time I got home, I just wanted to chill. I'm not too worried right now as ANY movement is good movement for a bit until I get back up to speed.
--I realized I've inadvertently been doing a very convenient (for me) form of IF over the past couple weeks, which is basically the "condensed window" version, if you can call my window condensed--I pretty much just skip breakfast and don't eat until noon or later, finishing my intake by 9pm, so there's that. I haven't noticed any problems other than the usual early-morning hunger pangs that go away quickly, especially after that first cup of coffee.
--The foot's still feeling good, just some very rare discomfort now and the even rarer stinger, though nothing like I was having even just two weeks ago. I'm not going to start running or dancing or anything just yet, but it might be a nice New Year's present.
--I have officially re-acquired a taste for tequila.

No workout yesterday. Spent all day at work gutting the A/V equipment out of our last remaining unused remote venue and then schlepping sound amplifiers around the building testing equipment (read: heavy things). Hamstrings are no longer tight or sore, but my left shoulder is, but in a good way (deep and mostly posterior, nothing suggesting trapezius activation).
Besides, yesterday's work notwithstanding, that double-density day destroyed me. I may try to get a core routine in today, but sleep trumps all, and I still have to get my costume ready (which will take all of twenty minutes). Happy "Everyone Dress Like a Slut in Public Because It's Okay for One Day" Day!

--Finally did a couple near-maximal lifts. I was pleasantly surprised that I have the mobility to do the TGUs, though that last one was a little wobbly.
--Not much else since I'm posting this on my BlackBerry.
