I've been thinking about this for awhile. Maybe you have thoughts. There is a lot of clothing sold now with the attraction of being "sun proof". We've all dealt with farmer's tans and bathing suit lines for years, decades even. Is sun streaming through clothes really an issue for anyone (unless you have Xeroderma Pigmentosum )
How often do you actually puke from exercise? I haven't puked since I was 14-16 years old. For any reason.
I don't think I ever have, at least not in recent memory, but you know when your sides start to twitch a little and you get a bit nauseous? Yeah, that. I liken it to a lighter version of my near-fainting from seeing excessive blood

Visualize a sick hamster on a wheel.
Between the pukey and him starring at his tan lines while mowing, this workout lacks a tad of it's normal masculine appeal.
I think he shoulda pick up his dog again . . . or flipped a tire.
I didn't mention my PWO after yardwork: three Bud Lights and half a block of gruyere. And a handful of potato chips. And a MASSIVE pile of take-out Chinese. And socializing my three dogs with the neighbor's super-hyper boxer. Help any?

I'm just happy to have finally gotten some sun on my head. I don't look like I belong in a hospital or boot camp anymore.

Notes:
--My buns are still a bit singed from swings yesterday, plus I didn't want to be inside again, so I went with the rope. There were a couple stoppages in the HI rope skipping just because three-plus minutes of regular rope skipping is a stretch, to say nothing of doing it for intervals. The rope kept turning, but the feet wouldn't keep skipping.

If you did any of that without a shirt on, it basically qualifies as soft porn.

Notes:
--My hammies have been significantly fatigued since the Tabata swings the other day, so I laid off the strength workout yesterday. They're still a little blah, but in a good way. I may need to do some targeted flexibility work on them before long.
--I'm on tea for the rest of the week. The last couple times I've had coffee, I develop a nagging headache soon after, so I'm blowing it off for a few days. I don't think it's adrenal fatigue or anything, just a quirk. It's okay since I found a huge stash of tea in the back of my pantry.
--The Thera Cane and lacrosse ball continue to live at work and get plenty of use, especially the ball--anytime I'm at my desk for more than a few minutes, my shoes come off so I can roll the ball with my feet. Shoes suck.
--Speaking of work, it only took a month for me to start having to deal with some semi-serious issues among my student employees, specifically one who likes to ride the clock--you know, clock in early or stay clocked in during breaks and otherwise shoot the breeze with people instead of working. Then I have one who just got her payroll paperwork done a couple days ago despite having been working for two weeks, but hey, she knew she'd miss this month's paycheck if she dawdled, and she dawdled, so not my problem.
--Oh yeah, today was the absolute most perfect weather day so far on the backside of summer: mid- to upper-70s, sunny, light breeze, mmmm... it's days like this that make riding the Harley to and from work massively awesome.

Notes:
--There was supposed to be a core circuit for the second half of the workout, but apparently, two hours isn't enough time for me to digest a moderately-sized meal, so there were a few vurps (banana and cottage cheese!) going into the final circuit that made me cut things off early. I'll get in the core circuit tomorrow.
--Today's observations: (1) I'm the only guy in an office of almost a dozen people. (2) The other people (except one other than me) decided they were bored and, since it's going to happen soon anyway, started moving people into different offices. Yeah, sorry you're bored, and even though I was a little blah today myself, that doesn't mean your boredom trumps everyone else's schedule, especially with as crazy as the end of this month is going to be. No one involved in said craziness needs to worry about moving anda keeping track of paperwork and switching phone lines until after the end of September. This leads directly to... (3) Women who hem and haw over a few inches in the placement of substantially heavy furniture have never lifted anything heavy in their lives. Of course, our building services people were the ones carting around desks weighing a couple hundred pounds in and out of the same office because *tsk* that just doesn't look right. (4) I will say that once the office moves are done, I will be happier since I will have a window (into the office, not outside as there are none) to plaster things on, a lot more desk/drawer/wall space on which to base my Alamo-esque bastion of dripping testosterone (I didn't get rid of ALL my posters from college), and I won't be sharing a wall with a lounge that houses an open piano--very poorly-played scales started at 8:30 this morning and hadn't stopped by the time I left the office at 3:30 for a day-ending meeting. Thank you for your services, Pandora.

So... the (female) coworkers were annoying you by wanting to reorganize, but you end up with a better office?
Hmmmmm...
They're annoying me because they want to do this OMGRIGHTNOWWTFLOL!!!1!!11. Ugh. It's okay, though. My new office is painted, so I'll be spending this afternoon moving my computer and, oh, about twenty pieces of paper, and then I'm going home for my first work-free Labor Day weekend EVAR!!!

--Regarding the aforementioned office move, mine is done. Took me all of twenty minutes to move, place, and hook up everything. Of course, the one busybody who's been pushing this whole thing (in spite of all the people who don't really have time to deal with it) got her jolt of karma today when, after offering to help the maintenance guy by painting an office, she dumped nearly half a gallon of paint all over the carpet. Of course, this meant everyone involved in moving furniture and painting elsewhere had to drop everything and tend to that mess. I smiled a little inside

--Yep, been awhile since the last workout (hence the 12kg KBs), though not since activity. Even though I spent most of Labor Day weekend in some level of intoxication, I did get in some swimming (Saturday) and golf (eightteen par-three holes Monday). Yes, me, golf, first time on a course other than Putt-Putt since I was thirteen, and only been on a driving range once or twice since then. I somehow managed a birdie, a couple pars, a few stroke limits, and the awe and scheming of my two golfer buddies--apparently, I need to get a set of clubs and spend a little time on the driving range so as to enter some faculty/staff tournaments. Yes, my first "tee" shot (all of maybe seventy yards to the pin) landed on the green, but I don't think they realize that that's always been the exception rather than the rule (my true game came out later in the round). At any rate, it was fun, and for ten bucks a round (eight to play and two for ammo), it could become a regular thing.
--I was going to gripe about having to ride to work in the rain this morning, but the lightning-and-sun show made it totally worth it. It's really hard to have a bad day when it begins and ends with a half-hour motorcycle ride.

--First time attempting side crunches, so it took a few reps on each side to get the feel just right, but that core circuit is painful (in a good way) if done deliberately.
--I think I failed to mention that I'm dropping into cyclical keto for a couple months, probably until Thanksgiving. Well, check that--I crashed this afternoon/evening, so if I'm not there, I'm close. Re-feeds will be one day per week, and workouts will likely be every other day on purpose (as opposed to just ending up that way because I'm feeling lazy) if that often. Basically, I'm just continuing to take what my body gives me to work with. I'm going to wing it for now, but if it starts to get too close to PSMF, I'll break out the food scale and FitDay account again.
--I don't typically dress up for Halloween, but if I do, I like my costume to be a puzzle, too (i.e. one year, a friend put on a waitress outfit and carried around a platter covered in spider webs, hence "web server"). I'm totally at a loss for coming up with these on my own, though today I had a thought that's probably ridiculous but possible: light-emitting diode (I run with a geeky crowd). I could go around randomly singing, well, ode-type songs and either have a heart attack or (more likely) have someone kill me, so I'd be dying, therefore "die-ode." The "light-emitting" part is a little trickier, though: how so I just glow, and not in the Reds' sense? I was thinking of getting a bunch of glow sticks, connecting them with string in sort of a shirt/harness fashion, and wearing them under a white shirt, but that'd be blotchy, and I want something a little more subtle and uniform.

The only thing I can think of is that I've been starting my mornings with green tea the past week and had coffee this morning. Hey, whatever.
--The "dive push-up" is just the first half of a divebomber push-up. I saw it somewhere is a modified overhead press in a progression to handstand push-ups, and considering that I'm nowhere near being able to do a HSPU, plus my shoulder issues in general, I went with these.
--My pistol squats were surprising, as in I was blowing straight through sets without stopping. Strength was good, balance was good, and knees weren't popping until the end. Go team.
--Speaking of which, I think I'm done for today. There's some college football that needs watching.

Looks like the new job + being relatively injury free is agreeing with you.
New (familiar) job that pays well enough (got my first paycheck since June yesterday!--waiting until late October to start on the small claims stuff) and challenges me, something that won't stop (regardless of how long I'm there--meetings next week to finally get the permanent stuff on the table) as I currently supervise twelve students, soon to be sixteen or so, and with the (lack of) work ethic in kids these days--wait, sorry. MAHLER, STOP CHANNELING!
Modern house that is plenty big enough (too big, actually), has appliances that all work well, and is built well (just got the first round of month-long bills, and they're comparable to the dump I just left despite more living space and running AC pretty steadily in the heat last month). Having a safe, family-friendly neighborhood (kids out on bikes after sundown) and a community pool doesn't hurt, either.
Paying attention to my body and mind and not trying to force workouts when I should instead do some (p)rehab or just sleep. The foot is still a nagging issue, but I'm (finally) going to the doctor in two weeks to get a professional opinion. I haven't run since March, and it's REALLY annoying. I have, however, starting putzing around with golf, and if I can get the foot at least bearable, I can get back to dancing.
Oh yeah, and I get most weekends off with the rest of the world. I can't believe I was missing out on that for so long. All things considered, life ain't too bad, not much to really complain about for the first time in years.

--Rowing was supposed to be 4 x 800m at pace, but I was having some music issues, so rest intervals were wonky, hence the round-by-round notation.
--I've concluded that there is no place in my house to do flags, so ab wheel rollouts are going to be the primary trunk flexion movement for the foreseeable future.
--I'm thinking of putting together a quasi corporate fitness thingy for two days at week at work. Goodness knows practically everyone there could use it, it'd cost me about three extra hours a week, and I could probably make some okay money on the side. Have to do some more thinking on it since the youth fitness thing, while still viable, is much less convenient since it's in a completely different part of the city.

--The KB lifts are getting better, but I do want to continue tempering the overhead stuff. As usual, the clean felt light while the press felt heavy.
--Not sure why the pistols tanked, but that first set was a doozy, and it didn't get much better. Just didn't have it today. Meanwhile, locking my Vibram-clad feet in the Power Wheel was interesting, but I like it since I can grab the foot boards with my toes
--Upper-body strength continues to be a hindrance. I may have to start going some bro curls and presses as supplemental movements. FML.
--Two more days until I finally get a doctor to look at my foot. Hopefully, it can get rehabbed or at least patched up enough to let me hike a day or two while I'm in Oregon.

Doctor's verdict is in: Morton's toe plus a collapsed transverse arch. I knew about the former but not the latter, and both combined with the blunt trauma back in March means that it wouldn't likely heal on its own, so for now, I have a metatarsal pad on a shoe insert to see if changing the weight-bearing will reduce some of the inflammation. The doc also told me to avoid pliable-soled shoes, which just isn't happening, so we'll see if the pad alone works. It'd be nice if there were a rehab-oriented fix for the arch thing, but I haven't found one yet.

Thanks. Doc said he was going to give me two weeks' worth of meds but didn't, but it's basically ibuprofen, so I'll take it if I need it. --Finally, a loggable workout. Since last Wednesday, my schedule has been FUBAR with a big event at work over the weekend, plus I got the lawn mowed now that it decided to grow again.
--I dropped the V-ups from the core circuit since I'm spending far too long in a seated position now, so I need to let up on the trunk flexion stuff a tad (and likely throw in some more trunk/hip extension work). I'm also hankering for some pure strength training again, but that's a good ways off considering the purchases needing to be made before a power rack and Olympic weights come to live in my garage.
--So far, the metatarsal pad's impact has been minimal at best. Granted, I only wear the shoes it's in for maybe two hours a day, and all of that is seated (on the motorcycle), but the little bit of walking I do in those boots is no different in feel than at any other time (aside from the built-up sole). I'll give it a few more weeks, of course, but it may just be where I need to take some ibuprofen for a few days, even though I hate taking meds of any kind.
--HO-LEE-SHIITE, vacation starts next Thursday. I am SO not ready. In fact, I only booked my room today because I actually remembered to. So far, the quasi-keto experiment has been a wash. Even though I haven't been tracking my numbers, simply removing carbs from the diet has helped (a little) with body composition; I'm sure tedious measuring would help in the food department, but it's simply not practical right now. On the training side, there's no way I can ensure the Mon/Tue/Fri training split given my work schedule--as is evident from my log of late, my workouts aren't exactly regular in frequency.
I'm finding that, if left to my own devices, I'm okay for awhile on diet, but invariably, I'll lapse into surplus eating relative to my activity level, so I feel the need to have SOME dietary regimen. I know it's only been a few weeks, but I've always responded well to anything close to keto, the caveat being that I was able to strictly train for that goal in the past. Not so much right now. Might look at intermittent fasting if I can find a free-to-use layout/plan.
Nothing noteworthy here, just a little vent to keep the log alive. I will say that my foot feels okay this morning, but it's early. When I can go a week without any pain, then there'll be a party
