You get weird looks walking out of Home Depot at 930pm with an ax and a sledgehammer...

Some random SMR, hip mobility, shoulder PNF, and flexibility stuff today. I may have to hit my left shoulder/trap with some TPT after work tonight since it has a hair trigger for trigger points. Just more reason to drop all horizontal-up pressing other than whatever's required for tire flips and animal movements. At least I'm keeping up with my guitar stuff--I can land in the ballpark of a half-dozen chords pretty quickly. Of course, that doesn't mean they sound good right away (short, wide fingers) or that I can transition worth a rip, but hey, it's something.

Hey...the hubby was using this kewl online place called jamplay.com...it's $20/mo, $50/quarter or $140/year...I think...there are video lessons and song tutorials....it was pretty cool and worth the cash. Just thought I'd mention it.

Oh my. What a great site. I'm going to bookmark it for later, but I need to see if I stick with it for a few months first. I'm already spending enough in monthly online subscriptions as it is (AARR, IYCA). I wonder if I could get away with paying for a month and ripping the videos

EDIT: This one's free: http://www.justinguitar.com/. Not sure of the quality, but I like free

I would just like to say that I've learned more tonight in about 30 minutes from that justinguitar site than I have from text-only stuff in two weeks.

hip PNF x 5/side
shoulder PNF x 5/side

superset x 4, 120RI
--tire flip x 5
--2-hand 24kg KB swing x 10

tri-set x 4, 120RI
--pull-ups (doorframe) x 5
--BW squats x 20
--KB handle push-ups x 10

slosh pipe carry (on shoulders) x 50yds

Notes:
--Man, what a difference a little concrete makes. No traction issues, which made the tire seem much lighter. The fact that I was in Vibrams made it that much better
--I need to more driveway workouts: (a) see above point, (b) seemingly fewer bugs, and (c) some of the neighbors, including kids, came out to watch. The bait has been cast; now I wait for the nibbles...
--Have I mentioned how much I love/hate my GymBoss?

I'm just a few episodes away from having watching all five seasons (I don't do live TV anymore, just torrents). I just hope they never find a shark to jump.

Oh no, we don't go down the salt-and-lime path here. Not anymore, at least. The human face can, in fact, turn green

Cotter qigong x 5

circuit x 5, 0RI
--burps x 30sec
--jumping jacks x 30sec
--rope skip x 30sec
--shadow boxing x 30sec

circuit x 3, 90RI
--flag negatives x 5
--18kg KB side bends x 6/side
--Supermans x 15
--18kg KB standing twist x 8/side

Notes:
--"Burps" = burpees minus the jump, so I guess that just makes them "up-downs." Whatever. I was on concrete, and the foot's acting up again, so I wanted to keep the maximal-ish jumping out of the routine today, even though I wore regular full-soled sneakers.
--I'm surprised that my work capacity is where it is. I figured I'd be sucking much worse than I already was/am.
--Took the dogs on an hour-long greenway walk as my cool-down. Ended up finding a rabbit trail down to the creek, so they got their first taste of playing in an actual body of water. I have a feeling that's going to become a regular thing

so, then, you're saying an "up-down" is a squat-thrust?
man, that's such a dirty exercise to talk about. yet I haven't had to do them since grade school.

Oh yeah, squat thrust. Forgot that name. I like "burp" better, though.

"Enough" being "some." I had to put a number in there to get the page set up, but it was really a dare between friends that I decided to attach a fundraiser to, so anything was welcome. $225 isn't bad for a couple yahoos over a month.

Okay, pictures are up on Facebook (if you're cool enough to be my "friend") and here (yes, I'm totally whoring out my blog). As the post says, no video until tomorrow. Apparently, I blew YouTube's size and length limits out of the water on my first attempt thatswhatshesaid so I'll have to go a little easier on the next round.

Cotter qigong x 5
sun salutation x 2
shoulder PNF x 5/side
hip PNF x 5/side

circuit x 5, 90RI
--chin-up* x 5
--sledgehammer swing x 10
--squat thrust x 15
--jumping jack x 20

* denotes last two sets done as pull-ups

Notes:
--This workout originally calls for twenty minutes or ten circuits, whichever comes first. I think I came close to twenty minutes with just five circuits. It seems my work capacity is right where I left it (read: suckage).
--Hips were a little tight this morning, which I'm sure had nothing to do with how much sitting and doing nothing I've done over the past day-plus. Speaking of which...
--Going on hour number forty of bloat. Man, what a cookout Saturday night. I did MUCH better this time in that I only have a week's worth of leftovers instead of two; however, I failed on drinks--my fridge is mostly beer, a few sodas, and some random foodstuffs tucked back in corners and crannies. Did I join some sort of body comp challenge? I can't remember...
--I'm at about the same timeframe as having no hair. Though it was somewhat cool this morning, it was also humid as hell, but I didn't feel like I got as hot as usually do. Hopefully, I can give it another shave tomorrow or (more likely) Wednesday. Maybe keeping lotion/oil on it will soften the hairs up a little more.
--Going into work a little early today to get a jump on redoing the video. I'll post a link to my blog (of course) when it's ready (don't get too excited--it's just clips mashed together with a couple songs overlaid, nothing special, just a live-action compared to the stills).

I'll give that a shot, or maybe I can just try to shave right after a shower.

In other news, a kitten was waiting for me when I got home from work last night, just hanging out in the storm drain in front of the house, nothing but skin and (malformed) bones. It got some leftover grilled chicken (meat protein) and olive oil (badly needed fat) with water. After staying the night (while breaking out of its holding pen in the laundry room, spraying a few spots, and otherwise chilling under the breakfast table), I took it out front where I found it to see where it would go. Made a beeline for the neighbors, which was an initial suspicion since I knew they kinda had a pet stray, not really a pet pet. Oh well, it was enough to give the dogs the heebie-jeebies for the night
