Are u done with the house yet? U taking like forever
The house is actually presentable and semi-ready for company, just a few boxes that need unpacking in a spare bedroom. I'm picking up a mower, trimmer, and gas grill sometime in the next couple days so I can more properly entertain. No timetable on getting the jacuzzi fixed (needs a heater and someone to actually fix it, plus general cleaning). I'm looking at hosting something late-May/early-June, hopefully something low-key one Sunday afternoon.
I was thinking to name mine Jason - as in, "had a date with Jason last night, I can hardly move today" or "tried out using bands with Jason today - what a difference that makes"
Weirdos. Never once did I consider naming my TRX, my sandbag, my KBs, my sledge or my medicine ball.
Og.

It's nice to know I can still bang out ten pull-ups at the drop of a hat. I'm really itching to get back to training, and I'm pretty much at a point with the housework that I can do that (netted two complete projects from the previous list so far--five done, three added), but I also know it's been a few weeks since I've done anything substantial, so the next two weeks will be geared toward p/rehab, mobility, tissue work, and flexibility so that I can resume normal training after the beach trip. This will also give me a chance to play around with the "play" in the IYCA stuff, which is going better than I thought it would, meaning I'll most likely send in my exam by the end of the month.
Og, naming is easy: sandbag = Sandy, KB (largest) = Bertha, sledge = Bitch (a la Rick James). Not sure on the medicine ball. TRX is done, as you can see, though I won't be naming any of my stuff.

Flexibility day. Good grief. Did all my usual stuff for twice as long plus some hip/glute mobility work. I'm going to need every bit of this two weeks to get back to training condition.

Everyone it seems is falling apart these days Doing MRT and foam-rolling...A friend of ours came to the gym with rotator cuff injury today....
It wouldn't be so bad for me if I'd kept up with it, but it'd be a few weeks since I'd done anything. Speaking of falling/fell apart, my left foot isn't debilitating anymore, but it's still about 50-50 on being painful when I try to stand on my toes (so to speak). I know it's only been a couple months and that I shouldn't expect full recovery until the fall, but I have to wonder if I don't have some kind of chip or spur in there. Who knows.
Also, for those of you placing bets on my next injury, do blisters count? Aoife's planet got a day back after I mowed my front yard with the reel mower. That was a tough quarter-acre, and my hands have the blisters to prove it. It started out as just seeing if the grass was still short enough to get cut in a few days, and since it was, I just ended up going ahead and finishing it without getting gloves. These look nothing like blisters or callouses from lifting, though I guess they look like they could be from--well, anyway...
Is it bad that I'm actually looking past this coming weekend's beach trip to getting back here and getting more projects done? Aside from the have-tos of housework, I'm starting to gauge branches for a climbing rope and rings/TRX attachment, and there's a tire place down the road that might have flip-worthy tires.

Nothing to report on the training front other than I've approached the beach in a slothful manner rather than the stereotypical OMG BEACH SEASON!!!!11!11 fashion. Kinda nice.
I did, however, get roped into a fundraiser (my own fault, really) that involves shaving my head. Never done it and likely won't do it again, but I'm envisioning copious amounts of lotion and sunscreen.

Hint: Hats are quicker and easier than applying sunscreen. And don't try wearing the helmet without the do rag.

Still here. Got back from vacation on Tuesday, and a scheduling switch gave me an extra day off yesterday, so I spent it spending an obscene (for me) amount of money on lawn equipment and putting said new toys together, so I'm getting close to a month of no formal activity, just moving and housework (which reminds me that I need to figure out how to fell a tree in the back yard without taking out the storage shed, the fence, or the utilities engangled at the base). It's beginning to take its toll on my hips and knees; not that I'm doing anything bad or ill-advised (other than cracking my head on a plant hanger yesterday), but I'm just not getting the physical activity that I should be. I did finish my IYCA exam while at the beach, so I'm submitting that today after a last once-over, and in trying to get a better idea of the practical side of that system, I'm probably going to get back into my own activity by running through sample programs I put together. I just have to, ya know, put them together, which is a challenge for me.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I'm shaving my head. I threw that out on Twitter last week, but I wanted to wait on it here until after the summit. After some discussion that spawned from nothingness (like most everything else on Training Anarchy), another guy over there and I threw together a quick-and-dirty fundraiser for the Komen Foundation, the agreed-upon recipient because, well, we like boobies. Anyway, he already shaved his head for some reason, but mine is happening Saturday, June 13, at my official house-opening party. Highest bidder(s) in person get to hold the clippers; highest bidders in abstentia get to submit requests for various simple designs or choice swaths of hair to shave first. There will be pictures and (hopefully) video.
If anyone else wants to join, that'd be great--just agree to shave and submit pictures by the date above while driving people to donate at that website.

Check me out: I totally wrote up a workout! Now I just have to do it
One thing I'm having a little trouble with is timing. When I worked from home (or lived at work, however you want to look at it), I could be downstairs from work and warming up in under ten minutes. Now, I have a twenty-minute drive/ride home, then change clothes, and let the dogs out, which I know is minimal and boo-hooey, but it's still a shift in lifestyle after being able to do all that while at work, let alone soon after. For now, I need to just suck it up and do stuff after work until I can slide into a morning workout routine, which I would prefer. Maybe Nick's little challenge will be a good jump-start.
On a brighter note, rope and rings are priced out and ready for ordering when I get my next paycheck. Hanging the rope will be simple if a little tedious since there are no good tree branches lower than twenty feet off the ground. The rings, however, will be a little trickier. I'll try to get pictures taken of me climbing in a tree crown like a monkey when that time comes.
