OMG, I'm glad that you weren't seriously hurt in that accident! Cabs make me crazy, I hate taking them anywhere. I'm so not cut out for NYC!
I bet you're glad to move again. I'm starting to get a little twitchy since it's been about 2.5 weeks since a workout. Of course, I'm sure the itching wasn't fun! Maybe it was the heat or maybe it was psychological? I get itchy when I freak out. Maybe that's just me being my version of crazy

Ugh! I totally understand the wedding thing. I have just come back from a 5-day trip to my boyfriend's college and it totally messed up my plan. I do great in terms of exercise but eating is horrible. Back-to-back unavoidable social eating for the whole trip. Your protein is insanely high (to me, cuz I struggled to reach my 160ish g.)
Anyway I decided to just continue on. I'm now on increase phase with 55% carb luxury. I can't wait for Metaburn!
One question. I'm in catagory 2 for metaburn and I will be ordering fat burner for it soon. Do you have any experience with fat burner? Which one works for you now that EC that Leigh recommends is no longer available?

I know that itchy feeling well. Happens every time I start to run after a layoff. I don't know what it is but I imagine it if fat cells scurrying about and abandoning ship. I love jogging in Central Park. Last time I was there I stayed just a few blocks from it and jogged every day in the AM. The runners at that time of the morning were pretty slow.

Diane - pinkberry is like frozen yogurt. They're a brand that started in Cali, I think, but now it's kind of a household name for reinvented frozen yogurt.
I was in LA in Jan. and I think it had just started catching on. There was a place right across the street from our hotel and I never got any. I'm totally kicking myself for that!
So how was the knock off, Marty? What flavor did you get? I'm dying to live vicariously through you!

Thanks T! It definitely did. It was so weird to put on my running shoes again, it had been awhile!
Whiskey makes me want to throw up a lot. I am totally with you on the beer thing! When I was training for the marathon, I had a pretty strict policy of hangovers being absolutely no excuse for missing a run. (I'm not talking about long runs - I never drank before those. Just short ones.) So even though I didn't have a hangover the other day, I've sort of trained myself to be able to run regardless of booze consumption. It might not be pretty, but it gets done.

Thanks Jes! Yeah, I don't know what was going on there. I don't think it was psychological because I was pretty chill, and the itching really surprised me. I had to clench my fists to keep from scratching. Yuck.
I never fastened my seatbelt in cabs. Now I always will. The whole rest of the weekend I would get a headache whenever we got into a cab. Now THAT was psychological. LOL.

Hi warasa! I mean ... wasabi!! LOL.
I have never used a fat burner before. I did find the other one that she lists here - I hope that helps!
I have such a hard time with social eating. Like, I have plenty o' willpower and do fine in restaurants or whatever, but I have a hard time saying to someone, no, I don't want to eat the chocolate cake that you spent hours making. I'm not overweight so saying I'm on a diet sort of makes people uncomfortable, and if I tell them about REPAIR I have to go into a whole spiel about my eating disorder. Whatever. Next week I start eating pretty much normally, so just a few more days. I CANNOT WAIT for 55% carbs. OMG OMG so excited!

Thanks Diane!
I love Pinkberry. It is frozen yogurt, but not normal frozen yogurt - more like Greek frozen yogurt. It's a bit more sour, and they have delicious fresh fruit toppings.
Right now they are only in NYC and LA, so whenever I am in either city I insist on eating lunch there every day. Chicago has a couple of knockoffs that have opened (and Jes - they are just as good as the real thing), and I can't wait until I have a few more carbs to work with, because I love it!!
Jes, I always get the original flavor with blueberries, raspberries, and mochi. YUM!!

Karla, this made me feel so much better! I sure hope it is fat cells abandoning ship.
I would have been one of those slow runners!! I am a 12/min mile girl anyway, and I think I was even slower! Hee hee.

Activity:
Resistance Training Day #1
Warm-up - Mobility work and stretching
Reverse Lunges 15/15s 15/15s 15/15s (next time - stay at 15s)
BSS 15/10s 15/10s 15/7.5s (start next time at 7.5s)
Neutral Grip Shoulder Press 15/10s 15/10s 15/10s (stay at 10s)
Bent Over Rows 15/10s 9/10s&6/7.5s 15/7.5s (start at 7.5s)
Pushups 8 toes/7 knees 7 toes/8 knees 5 toes/10 knees
Swiss Ball Jacknife 15 15 15
Reverse Crunch 15 15 15
Cool-down - Collapsed on the floor while cat licked face
Did stretching and foam rolling later that night.
Thoughts:
I think I might have pushed it too hard. I feel fine today, just the DOMS that I would expect, but this took a lot out of me for the rest of the day, and it was supposed to be a "light" workout. Will go easier on the next one.
My legs were jelly by the end.
It was hard to pick the right weight levels, given the time off and the 15 reps. I think I kept trying to do what I'd done a month ago with 10 reps. Silly Marty.
Food:
1948 calories
60g fat
172g carbs/22g fiber (sweet potato for starch)
188g protein
Pre-workout nutrition was salad, cottage cheese, tofu two hours before workout.
Post-workout was a protein shake with 1/2 banana.
Sleep: 8ish hours.
Water/sodium: I get 5mg of sodium now!!! Definitely under that. However, I was really, really thirsty yesterday after my workout, and water was off the charts.
Probiotics/enzymes/fish oil/multivitamin/BCAAs: Better, but will be 100% back on track now that I'm at work and on a schedule again.
Emotionally: Feeling awesome. I feel like a normal person - which is the entire goal that I want to achieve with this program. Exercising a normal amount, eating a reasonable amount of food. I feel better than I have in really long time.
I've decided to step away from the scale for the duration of the program. I will follow REPAIR to the letter, regardless of what it says, so I don't want to put myself through the daily anxiety of what that number is going to be. Mornings are hard enough as it is!

Yeah, I haven't really thought about the workouts yet, but I don't think I could just pick up a weight and do it right the first time, either. At least now you know where to go. Smart, making the notes about what you should do next time.
Way to go making the decision about the scale. If you're going to step away, this is the right time to do it, since there's going to be a lot of fluctuations with the exercise and the increased carbs. If it's going to be stressful, then you shouldn't do it.

LMAO Marty, you are really funny.
I must have missed that question. IMHO this is Charlie's Angel. YouTube - Golf Swing Abdominal Exercise
Don't ask me to cite how I know they are the same. It was messy googling long time ago.
Good news is after my unfortunate 5-day eating trip, I don't gain weight! Plus my morning temperature is up by 1.3 degree. I'm no longer meet the criteria for Wilson's temperature syndrome. This is AMAZING!! It proves that this is what my body has been longing. It finally starts to love me back .
I know how you feel about avoiding the scale. I made myself go back at it once in a while. It's a great tool for me to monitor my metabolism level. If my weight does not go up despite calorie increase, I know the program works. BTW increase phase is a paradise. Well, I wish paradise allows more fats, lol, but it's good anyway.
My stat so far in day 2 of INCREASE phase
Lose 3.5 lbs during Rest
Gain 2.5 lbs after that (all because of out-of-plan social eating.)
Same measurements
98 degrees morning body temp (up from 96.7)
The best digestive/bowel movement ever in my entire life (seriously.)
Sorry I steal the space on your log to post my progress lol.

Warasa aka Wasabi, THANK YOU! That video is awesome, and it makes so much more sense that my side lunges and finger guns. (I totally did that during the whole week of Prepare, hee hee. I skipped the finger guns when I was doing the mobility work in Central Park, though.)
That is so great about your temperature! And hilarious (and also great) about the best digestive movement of your life. I know exactly what you are talking about.
And I second missjane, warasa, you should start a log too! I really like it when you update and would love to read all about what's going on with you. But if you don't want to, feel free to keep posting here.

Thanks Jes! Yeah, that's what I thought about the scale too. I just didn't want to be unduly influenced and start tacking on extra-credit workouts or skipping meals.
