Now of course I managed to get these all on two pages so comparison is hard...sorry! I do wish I had before pics of me in January, because I lost 15# before I started NROL4W. Oh well.
Any suggestions on how to get them to show up bigger, or to post them all together? I think it's hard to see other people's pics when they are so small and not on the same post.
Good for you for posting! I'm holding out until the very last minute (or at least until I get my camera working again). Who am I kidding, I'm waiting until the August 4 picture due date.
June Pics. I promise I won't complain about how my butt is much bigger than I thought it was, Anne!
I have one set of pictures from 40 pounds shy of my top weight. 80 pounds later I can admit to seeing differences. It's funny how we really can't be objective about our own pictures. I do wish I had something (anything) from my top weight. I'm usually the one holding the camera but I suspect there are some around somewhere.
I see the biggest difference in the front shots and the rear shots. I find pictures hard to compare when clothing changes. Different items sit on the body differently which makes comparison harder. I'm going to try and keep my challenge shots consistent (but that's not always possible).
Jane, could you give me a few more details? I uploaded my pictures to flickr, then clicked on insert image and copied/pasted the link into the dialog box. It seems to be showing only a box with an x, not the picture. I tried making the pictures public instead of private but that didn't help either.
Thanks.
I'm not sure what else to tell you because I host my pics on my own website. I know many use flickr, but I don't have any experience with it since I have my own site. I DO know that I can't see any flickr images at work (only the red x) since my work blocks flickr. But, then at home I can see them.
I use Flickr, but I'm not sure that this is the best way. This will allow you to keep the link back to Flickr (which they prefer).
1 - go to photo page and choose which size you want to insert. Copy information from first box into clipboard.
2 - choose web link icon in message editor and paste info in.
3 - I always get two copies. Delete the first copy and the "> text between them. It will work if you delete the 2nd copy but the first copy does not link back to Flickr.
If you want pictures side by side add a space and repeat the process.
Do you have a program that came with your camera? I didn't figure out how to get my pictures side-by-side, until the final challenge pictures. I was using a hosting site called Shutterfly for al the other ones and it wouldn't let me upload the picture cropped, it kept filling it the white space, so I still couldn't put them side by side. I used Flickr and it let me, but first I cut my pictures down with the program that helps me get the pictures off of my camera and onto my computer. Don't know if that makes sense.
On to something else.................
You look wonderful! You have made BIG changes, you really have! You should be proud. Nice job.

Aha! Finally I think it's working!!! I tried it a couple different ways with no luck, but suddenly I seem to have hit the magic button. (Option one didn't seem to work) I'll try to post them side by side. I don't know what was up for the May pics, bc they all seem to look worse. Whatever I suppose...
ok I lied. I hate doing it and always will (until I'm at goal, of course!)...
Thanks I've obviously been holding on to these for months and I really wanted to get them up for accountability's sake. It was hard though.

I decided to switch to the bikini because the shorts seem to hide the flaws more and I want to really be able to see the (expected) changes when they happen. I know it's hard to tell the differences with different clothes.

Thanks for the input. I have a new(er) computer and so don't have the program that came with my ancient camera anymore. But it did work with Microsoft's generic picture program anyway. And thanks for the compliments. I really can't see as much change as I feel, but people have commented to me that I look different.
Celeste...............Congrats on finishing Stage 2 with such great improvements!
Also........It takes a lot of courage to post your pictures. I think it's one of the hardest things we do. But, as you said, you'll see the changes as you go and that will be so rewarding!
BTW.......It looks like you have a 6-pack starting! Yowza!!!
Keep working hard, g/f!

Stephanie--thanks for the encouragement AND the LAUGHS!!!!!!! Me, a 6-pack?!!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, I'm better now. Actually, I do see what you're saying and I've been poking dh's finger into my sides every once in a while, saying, "hey, feel this, there's actually muscle under there!" (he just thinks I'm weird) I think I'm a long way from a 6 pack but it is neat to realize SOME of that belly fat is going away.

OMG.........I can totally see the indentations for your abs. Like you said, the belly fat is going away and guess what is right under there waiting to be revealed???? I won't tell you "I told you so" when it happens!

You are so sweet...will you be my best friend?!
I might as well update on the last few days eats and workouts...
Lots of NEAT after lifting Wednesday b/c my fridge died...had to clean out the chest freezer that accidentally got closed after I emptied it a few weeks ago (YUK), move all the frozen stuff over there, and move all the fridge stuff into the mini fridge that dh brought home from Ski Denton (thanks Pepsi for the lifesave!). Then cleaned out the fridge cause it was much nastier with all the food out!
Thursday I walked up the dirt road/hill by my house (4 miles round trip). It was a BEAUTIFUL walk with lots of dew on the spiderwebs in the field, bunnies in the grass, and really nice and cool out. I read my book the whole way and thought of the conversation in Pauline's log. Came home and did lots of stretching and foam rolling but skipped the hamstring/glute exercises b/c I was EXTREMELY sore from my first Stage 3 workout! I didn't injure my hamstring though on Wed, which I was a little worried about. I am still sore even today, two days later, but a regular, maybe I overdid it a little, sore.
Got two different 10 min segments on the elliptical during the day so I could finish my book and get up out of my chair--I felt glued to my desk yesterday.
Calories for Monday: 1887 (30 carb/34 protein/29 fat/7 alcohol)
Tuesday: 1621 (44 carb/35 protein/21 fat)
Wednesday: 1373 (39 carb/36 protein/25 fat) this was under, but I didn't realize until bedtime so I decided not to eat 400 more cal just because..
Thursday: 1573 (43 carb/35 protein/22 fat)
My calories are pretty much on and I'm eating healthy, I just need to raise that fat a little.
______________________________ ___________________________ Stage 2, Workout 1B
Barbell Romanian DL/Bent over Row: 3x85# (I may go down next time for better ROM on the rows)
One Legged Bridges: 2x15
Partial Single Legged Squat: 3x6 bw *the other NROL4W gal at the gym suggested I do these in front of a bench, allowing me to go slowly all the way down to a sitting position, just barely touch with my butt, then raise up again. They were really hard like this-any feedback?
Wide Grip Lat Pulldown: 1x6 @ 75#, 1x6 @ 70# (I cannot do these wide grip, they really make my shoulder crunch and hurt. Even with these the shoulder really bothered me so I only did 2 sets.)
Back Extension: On swiss ball, we don't have a "thingie"
YMCA, I mean YWTL: 3x6 @ 5# maybe that was too light? I think the next step up that we have are 8#.
Supersetted the Swiss Ball Crunch (Long arms with 5#), Clamshell for glutes, Reverse Crunches on Incline, and Side Flexion on Ball (3 sets of course)
Prone Cobra: 3x90sec
HIIT: DIDN'T want to do it since I had to wait until I got home. Then "tired" sunk in, had an argument with dh, and got a headache. BUT I made myself get on the elliptical and managed the 12 min suggested in the book for the first interval set. I still am not sure if I'm "doing it right", but I did warmup on level 3 (6mph), intervals at level 10 (7mph) and recovery at level 6 (6mph). Anyway it's done.
Okay, this is a really long post. I never seem to have time to get everything down on "paper", so when I do, I just do it all.

hee hee ....I make my BF touch the back of my thigh all the time..that's where i'm feeling the biggest difference....Although I can't necessarily see the changes, I'm feeling them and want everyone else to feel them too! Well, not everyone...I don't think I asked the guy bagging my groceries. That would be weird... and creepy

Yeah! Hilarious!!! I can't believe I didn't comment on this--I probably couldn't quit rolling on the floor in laughter long enough to respond! I had to read it to dh...he just sighed and went on with his day...
Okay, now I'm mad...I spent a good five minutes out of my life last night posting a GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENT!!! and when I checked in this morning to see if anyone said how wonderful, marvelous, etc etc that I am, WHAT?! It's gone! Nowhere! Did I post it in someone else's log? Now that would be funny!
Anyway, great accomplishment was this: I attended a family reunion yesterday (let me rephrase that--I PLANNED and HOSTED my HUSBAND's family reunion--what's wrong with that picture?). You know, the kind where you really don't know anyone and the only consolation is pigging out on lots of stuff you didn't make...well, I had a small plate of healthy food for lunch and ONE dessert! That's a major accomplishment because I am really all-or-nothing--if there's any excuse to "celebrate", I just let go and eat a ton of food, including one of each kind of dessert. OR I don't eat anything and kind of martyr-out. So this was a good balance, and even with going out to dinner afterwards with dh, I was 80 below my calorie range for the day. A little low on protein, but not bad all together. YAY me!
Good things: Actually did have fun socializing with dh's family, and the free chairlift rides and temporary geocaches that father in law and I set up were a big hit with quite a few of them.
Haven't seen my business partner/really good friend for--what--at least a week--so we took a ride up the chair and had a nice walk down the mountain (in flip flops!). Got caught up on each other's lives, gossip, and food and weight issues.
Date night with dh was fun. We went out to dinner, which we haven't done in months, and then went for a nice hike up our hill/farmland. He is anti-exercise so this was a big deal. Although I did feel bad for him--he was majorly out of breath and I wasn't even feeling exertion. He's a strong guy but really out of shape. Then we watched Top Chef episodes in our room--maybe to see how strong my willpower is?!
That's great! It's really hard to control eating at a celebration! I've got two coming up in a couple of weeks--BF's brother's wedding and son's birthday. They're back-to-back the last weekend in July. His entire family and a ton of friends are going to be here for the occassions. I can only hope to eat as well as you those two days.

How far of a walk is that in flip flops? Youch!
Sounds like you're having a fun couple of days.
Don't I know it--and I can celebrate anytime, you know, like Lou says "just because it's Wednesday"! Good luck at the weddings/birthdays. I was pretty proud of myself for holding off on the desserts, but honestly the rest of the food (4 macaroni salads and 3 potato salads for starters) wasn't very tempting. I made an artichoke/parmesan/mayo dip that I really love so I had like 2 T and 3 tortilla chips with it. Weddings probably would be much harder since the menu is planned out and presumably really yummy!
Also, it's about a mile. We didn't have time to walk uphill and back down so we compromised and rode the lift up.
Oh yeah, today we had a downhill mtb race that we were all excited for, but it started thunderstorming. I'm bummed b/c we skipped church to go help out and then ended up staying home anyway "on call" in case they decided it was still a go. Geez, nothing is going right at the business this summer! At least I get to catch up on laundry though...
Great job at the reunion! Isn't it empowering when you succeed with your plans like that!?? It always gives me a real boost and keeps me on-track - awesome!
