Snowshoeing seems so interesting, lol. I've never done and I don't know anything about it but I'm glad to hear you had so much fun! And I do't have kids either so I can't really contribute to that convo, but I know I always liked staying up later when I was a teen
You know, I never did! I always went to be relatively early, even in college (11 or 12:00). Maybe that's why I didn't understand this....

So funny! My husband must be a teenager also--he doesn't even ATTEMPT to go to bed until at least midnight unless he's been working weird hours grooming the slopes
or something.

I am curious to hear more about PN. I have been on the website a few times and am very tempted to buy it. That and a GoWear Fit, kettlebells, FLTS, running shoes.....yeah its a problem.
Aw, shucks! Thanks for your kind words...I thought it was a cool conversation (we talked a little more after that). But she said she was impressed that I knew what I was doing in there--I told her anyone can read a book! That's the thing, so many women (including me in the past) are intimidated by the weight room, when if you get a good program and some support, you can really change things up!

Thanks Cheryl! It's funny, EVERY time I expect the side planks to be easier than they are... But, no, they still kill me, even 30 seconds.

That ever happen to you? Okay, then. Not sure I can get my muscles to respond to me just reading your intense workout, but it's worth a shot.
Kathy, you are so funny!!! I'm laughing out loud here at my computer and my kids are looking strangely at me...

So I know I've gotten a good upper body workout when I'm teaching my geography class in homeschool co-op and I have to keep switching arms while pointing at the map b/c my arms are quivering so much! I'm realizing that I'm sore after EVERY one of these workouts--must be because of the A-B-C-D format, that my body just doesn't adapt to what's coming next. Anyway, it's not a debilitating kind of sore, so it's ok.
All right, off to take a nap! I'm so excited about this for my Friday afternoon--a little sad, but gotta do it when you can, right?!
Mrs. celest your amazing haha. you are inspiring me to go to the gym. i dont think i would go if you didnt show up at my house every other day at 645 to take me! haha thanks =]
Thanks Summer, you're so sweet! Actually you're inspiring me too--you are really dedicated and serious for a young lady your age. I'm so proud of you!
*I was sitting on the floor for a second after my 2nd set of planks when a guy walked into the weight room. I must have looked pretty pitiful because he asked me if I needed help! I just said, "no...this...workout...is...har d!"

It's way ok!!! Not pompous at all--you should be proud of yourself! Hey I'm proud of myself and I bet most of the ladies on here are feeling the same way! (not proud of me, proud of them...)

Well, Summer, you're definitely good for my ego..or maybe bad for it, lol?!
Okay, I never posted yesterday's "workout"!
3 Rounds of:
15 min work emails/web stuff
15 min home emals/web stuff
15 min paperwork
15 min picking up house
15 min laundry
15 min checking schoolwork
And then I made dinner, bday cake, washed dishes, prepared for the gym, and fell into bed...
The sad part is, I'm farther behind today than I was yesterday...
I'm so excited, I'm going to randomly post pics of cool stuff I picked up at Athleta.com (on CLEARANCE of course ) This was my gift to myself for getting to a weight where I could go on maintenance for a bit, it was all less than $80!
Wish my belly looked like that though...anyway the only one I'm not sure of is the suit--I needed a tankini type suit for our ski trip where we hang out in the hot tub with our partners' family--right now all I had was a bikini...
Cute stuff! Just got a ton of new tanks myself at Sierra Trading Post. Everything was clearance and and additional 30% off. Got most of the tanks for 5 bucks each! Hind tanks, too!
Whew! Lots to catch up on in here! Glad everyone was okay in the ditch mishap!
Love the picture of you with the snow shoes. I don't think I've ever seen snow shoes in person and for some reason expected them to look like tennis rackets! LOL

Thanks, Jane! I have had my eye on that tank and dress for months, so when I saw them on clearance, I HAD to have them! Well, maybe not HAD to, but I could justify it, anyway. I did have to exchange the two tops though-I ordered xs in everything, but believe it or not, I needed more room for boobage.

Your workouts are really good, C. I am continually impressed with your numbers and consistency.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks Ginger! I was thinking of you when I took the athleta catalog to dh and said, "now that I'm snowshoeing, I need one of these outfits!" (the xc ski ones...) It didn't fly, sad to say.

As usual, you're kicking all sorts of ass!
Thanks! My dad does have some snowshoes that look like tennis rackets. I think they're actually made of wood and some sort of animal parts...sounds yucky...
Okay, so yesterday was COMPLETELY wasted--boring story too long to tell, but I basically ended up taking care of other people's responsibilities all afternoon/evening (which ticked me off bigtime) and not even touching my list of things to do. I did manage to get groceries, and take a nap (YAY!!), but when I got up and started in on the chaos, I got majorly sidetracked, not of my own choosing, and didn't get anything else done. Anyhoo--off to accomplish something today!
That's all right, I saw you all in Rite Aid (at least your parents) and I was waving like crazy from my car in the drive thru, but no luck, no one saw me... See you tomorrow!

haha yeah it was just my parents in there. =] huzzah for tomorrow! im excited. haha. same time as always?
Okay, so I worked my butt off all day yesterday and made it through 4x that "workout" plus an extra hour of folding laundry--okay, it's really not a workout, except for mentally. BUT my Denton emails are all caught up, my home emails are (almost) all caught up, laundry is still behind, but I can see the end is in sight, and my desk is 3/4 clean and organized. I still could use about 5 more days like that, but one more would really make a difference.
Basically, I"m bored without a workout to log and I'm DYING to get back to the gym! That's strange for me, even during NROL4W, to an extent...
True. I did get some more accomplished today--one more time through the list, plus random cleaning, laundry, and cooking of dinner. Plus the horse dentist came, which was an experience. Strangely enough, my two horses were good (even Wyatt!!) but my dad's (Prissy--the calm, cooperative one) was out of her mind. It was really really hard to get her teeth done, and she was the one who could barely eat b/c her teeth were so uneven.
It's interesting, but years ago we had to have work done on one of the cats. Just cleaning and such, but they quoted two prices. Basically with and without sedation. The cat they were doing was very nervous and yet he ended up being calm as anything. So I'm not surprised that the calm horse ended up being the trouble one.
Hey I just noticed something....I'm not trying to be the Max Strength police, but I noticed you were doing the Very High workload week in week two, when the very high week should be week 3 of each phase. Just thought I would point that out.

Hello, Max Strength police! Actually, I just copied and pasted from the week before and forgot to change the 2 to a 3. Thanks for looking out for me though... So now I'm on Week 4, today! Theoretically these workouts will be a breeze this week, right?
*I'm having trouble keeping good form while still doing these quickly. I can't really describe it...but my back is rounding a little and my legs are raising my body before the bb gets off the floor. Hmm. Not a very good description, I know.
C: Walking DB Lunge: 2x8 each leg (notation in the book said to use an easy weight)
8e @ 30# DBs
8e @ 30# DBs
*These did seem easier than before, who knows if I'm stronger or my squats were just less tiring...
*Obviously this was an easier workout to get a pr on planks!
Afterwards, I was waiting for Summer to finish her workout since mine was so short. I ran for 6 min on the treadmill at 6.5mph. It was actually kinda fun!
Static Stretching
Well, I don't feel like I did much, but I guess that's the point of a low volume week...
WOW! What a workout! You are my hero for those squats! I dream of the day when I can put plates on the bar.

I know! Its not like I am some magic mind that I know what to do in the weight room. I read some books and follow a plan that someone else came up with! I thought about this when I was on the treadmill yesterday watching the nautilus area. I saw so many women doing the calf raise machine and tricep exercises...not that there is anything wrong with those things, but I always wonder if they know why they are doing those. Just because they saw someone else do them?
Ahh, sorry...ive had a number of copy and paste errors too.
I was always thankful when it was time for a low volume week, but then 4 or 5 days into the low vol week I was really itching to get back to some higher volume stuff.
More than likely it's because they know you can spot reduce fat, so doing those exercises only makes sense. (Not endorsing the belief, just reporting it.)
