No workouts since Thursday. Spent the weekend (including my 21st anniversary) dealing with my very sick doggie. Really, little time for anything else. Hope to get in a workout over lunch, so will post something a little later.

Good luck with TNT! Tell your wife that I've been on it since January and had great success. Just have her pop in her and see the progress pics of us TNT'ers!
Looks like the diet is going well for you Rob. One the things I liked about it was that I felt less hungry during the day. What are you eating for snacks? I got a little bored of almonds, cheese and avocado everyday. Missing the fruit?
Not trying to derail you; just interested to compare to my own experience

***************************** My Log - PC Plod
Jamie, we have an almost 11 y.o. Wheaten Terrier. He has been off his food for a while and started to have some serious gastro-intestinal issues Thursday morning. By Saturday AM, he was in the ICU at a critical care pet hospital. We initially thought these problems related to a recent fairly lengthy round of antibiotics he had been on for a skin disorder. However, his very low red blood cell count signified something more chronic and serious. The long and the short of it is that he has a massive tumour on his liver which is inoperable. He will not recover from this clearly. For the time being his stomach issues have passed and he is eating/drinking again. He came home with us late last night and spent a restful evening. The vet says he doesn't really know he's sick - just a little tired from the anemia. When I called home this morning, I heard him barking at the postman (a highlight of his day ) so I figure he's not doing too badly atm.
Of course, it will be downhill from here. We likely only have a short period of time remaining with him - days, weeks, perhaps a couple of months if we're really lucky. Needless to say, we're all devastated and I am struggling not only with my own emotions but with guiding my children through this ordeal. Lots of tears this weekend. And there will be lots more before the end. But in the meantime, we're enjoying what little time we have left with Matt. He's been a great dog and friend, and we hope that his last days will be happy ones for him.
Thanks or asking ... and thanks for listening. I haven't had such a sucky weekend in a long, long time. And to top it off, it was our 21st wedding anniversary Saturday. Needless to say, we were in no mood to celebrate ... I guess it's a reminder though about the strength you draw on in a marriage, not only in good times but even moreso in bad.

Sounds much the same, Neil ... cheese, pepperoni, cold meat, almonds, walnuts, more cheese ... Bought some avocadoes but haven't had them yet ... accidentally left them in the fridge and they didn't soften up. D'oh. I'm slightly allergic to them in any event so won't be able to have mass quantities.
The hardest for me is breakfast. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool breakfast cereal guy from way back ... usually weetabix or oatmeal, not sugary stuff ... so it's hard getting used to meat and eggs. When I switch plans and introduce some carbs back in, it will definitely be at breakfast! Also, missing good bread. I love to have good bread with my dinner and it's hard to give that up. Desserts I'm managing with ... miss them but not as much as some other stuff. Fruit's no big deal - I'm not much of a fruit lover any way. I do miss my daily afternoon apple but it's not a huge deal so far.
Into week 3 now ... I'm doing better than I thought I would. On day 3, I really considered quitting ... so making it to day 15 is pretty cool.

Thanks, missjane, will do. She's not a big internet user though outside work, so I'm not sure I'll convince her. But you never know.

Rob, I am so sorry! I totally feel your pain. I still mourn the loss of my kitties. Man, the imprint that animals leave on our lives...
We'll pray for comfort for all of you guys, including Matt. I always have a listening ear (pretty sure I owe you at least 1 or 2 ).
Thanks for your kind words, Jamie. Much appreciated.

Here's a pic of Matt from a couple years ago after one of my daughter's dress-up sessions.

Warmup:
10 Jumping Jacks
10 Neck Rotations to each side
10 Shoulder circles (backwards)
10 Arm Circles (forwards and backwards)
10 Lunges
10 Static Side Lunges
10 B/W Squats
10 Hip Extensions
10 Lying Straight Leg Raises
10 Side Leg Raises
10 Pushups Plus
10 Thoracic Rotations
10 Fire Hydrant In-Outs
10 Groiners
Comments: I'm happy with this workout - it felt better than last time. I deliberately didn't increase the weight on the lunges - playing it safe - and my back/thigh felt very solid. Best they've felt in a long time while working out. I'm pleased with the increase on the wood choppers as these were quite hard last time out. Great workout! (I should mention - this is technically the first day of week 3 of the program but I'm finishing up the week 2 routines because of the weekend issues. Back on track - if I do a workout every other day I will be able to catch up by the weekend.)

Terry & Bill - I appreciate your kind words. It's great to have friends who care at a time like this.

Thanks, Roland and Bacardio, thanks a lot. Matt is doing pretty good today - his bodily functions are back in order and, besides being really tired, he seems to be pretty much himself. It's nice to know he's not in pain and just taking life as he normally would. It's nice having this reprieve time with him.
(BTW, Bacardio - are we going to get to find out your real name at the summit? )

Lunchtime routine - did 10 minutes on the StairMaster, 10 minutes on the stationary bike then my physio exercises, mostly variations of hip extensions, some bird dogs, some rotations, etc.

So do you swap around on the cardio machines because you get bored after 10 minutes, or is there some other benefit?
Machine is selected for the view of the hottest cardio bunny.

Haha. Believe me, the cardio bunnies are pretty limited at my downtown gym at lunch - mostly old fart businessmen types there. No, Jamie had it right - just get a little bored so I like to switch it up.
