Default Trying to gain weight

Alright, I am finally going to post in this thread. My stats: 6'1", 166 pounds, 27 year old male. According to tanita bf% is between 12-14%. I can never really gain muscle mass. Most of my life I was a runner who lifted, now I am trying the approach of a lifter who runs. I am eating healthier, more natural foods that are minimally processed. Even though I still find high fructose corn syrup in some of my food products that I bought. My goal is to build muscle, but I am still having a hard time of consuming around 3500 cals a day to do it, unless I eat a whole pizza from the grocery store.

So I am trying the eternally skinny workout in NROL. So far, I have just completed the break in program and this is my rest week. My back is a little sore, probably a combination of lifting and slouching while on the internet.

Just wanted to say hello to everybody and hopefully all of us will accomplish our goals!!!

good luck. gaining is a process that takes commitment, just like losing. sounds like you've got a good lifting program.

Gaining is hard to do! Good luck. It sounds like you've got a good starting place and program.

Since this is my rest week, I went out for a short 3 mile run since it is finally getting warmer in Ohio. It felt pretty good. I can definately feel that my legs are getting stronger already from all of the squats, deadlifts, and other leg exercises from the breakin. I used to be one of those people who focused mostly on upper body routines with the occassional lower body routine. Everyone says if you want to gain weight, eat more and work the lower body more with squats and deadlifts.

So far I am at about 170 pounds consistently. I am doing the Hypertrophy I program. I love lunges, but I hate the way I have to superset bulgarian split squats and step-ups together. The first time I did that superset I was hurting.
