Wassup with the crunching hubbies? I'm glad I'm not the only one who just cringes from that sound . Mine will even eat something "quiet" like ice cream or yogurt, then pour crunchy toppings on!!!
Hey Nik - keep on readin' - I'm working on it. The knee? Not from exercise, just from plain ol' normal walking slowly... it's ok today though, so... hmmmmm.
I guess the theme for the day is "men just don't get it" - but at least we're not alone - seems to be happening to lots of us .

Few comments here....LOL!
-Yeah for you getting some REAL rest!! but I know it is hard to get in the habit to rest, just as it is hard to get in a habit to workout and not rest
-My DH is so bad at this that he actually STILLLLLL makes noises while eating soft things like yogurt and pudding!!! No crunchy toppings needed for this kid! haha I seriously don't get it??? It's like a friggin' skill to make noise while eating those??? LOL!!!
-And sorry, needed to clarify that I get those pains in my knee while walking normal too....but I notice they are usually after a HARD workout or after doing something at an incline or 90degree loading (be it Tmill or step ups, or squats, etc...) I am usually glad it's noisy at the gym bc I would cringe at the "crackling" my knees make! I can hear it when I go up and down stairs and it is brutal!
Just me though, may not be your case but I noticed you did step ups and incline treadmill within the last week or so, so it made me think that.
Mine usually goes away after taking advil but that is just bc I hate to ice stuff! ha! I put in WAYYYYY too many hours of icing in our training room in HS and college so I guess I dread it big time!
Glad it is feeling better though
-and you get a huge AMEN SISTER!!! on the "men don't get it comment"!!! haha

I don't always remember getting all of my bruises, but at least I know where they came from

Yeah, it's kinda fun, but I think they all secretly (or not so secretly) worry about my sanity . And yeah - I can name the origin of every freakin' bruise... for whatever that's worth!

Wish mine would make an effort!!! He tends to chew with his mouth open - not wide, but just not lips sealed (which I notice because the chip noises are even LOUDER when he gets careless about it!)... Mostly if I say anything or even sigh, he gets offended and crabby... so I just seethe
In some incredibly warped way, it's helping me to know that other women have the same issue!!!
And Nik (getting ahead of my post here) - I feel for ya' if he's a noisy pudding eater!!! VERY skilled

I've had the "I overdid it" knee thing plenty of times... this was just SO different because it was so sudden. It was like I tore something or pinched something but there was NO reason for it to happen? Post-exercise aches don't come on so suddenly, ya know? I think Julie was right (THANKS JULIE) that I pinched something and when I finally got the swelling to decrease enough, it released and - relief!!!
Is it 7 yet? It's SO nice out... I'm stuck inside

Glad I popped in to see what you're up to now, Frankenhamster! All these interesting bodily experiments you're doing make for some great reading.
Sorry about your knee, but I'm psyched about your weight loss! Woohoo!

Good news bad news...
The good. I woke up and the scale is down ANOTHER 1# . Total now of 3# (assuming it stays down) since I started being strict a week ago.
The bad. I feel like CRAP . My stomach was iffy when I woke up (dunno why), but I wanted to get my lift in. I thought maybe I'd feel better once I got moving. STUPID. I struggled through the workout, had to lower a few weights, and though I did it, about halfway through I started to wonder if I wouldn't really pay later for my stupidity.
By the time I was done, I felt even worse. I've been mildly nauseated all morning (and it was worse between sets ), I feel like a truck ran over me, I am STILL trying to choke down my PWO (and I finished my workout more than 2 hours ago)... No appetite, just upset stomach, chills/sweats (but no fever) and ache everywhere and exhausted.
Maybe I shoulda skipped the workout today?
I don't think it's necessarily from the diet - probably a bug or something, cuz I've felt really good all week other than this, and yesterday was a rest day...
Today's workout - Stage 4, B2
Front squat push press -- 3x8 @ 55#. Didn't get back to 60# for even one set like last week.
Step-ups -- 3x8 @ 40# (2x20# db's). Dropped from 50#'s. Still sucked.
1-point Row -- 3x8 @ 80# (2x40# db's).
Static Lunge rear foot elevated -- 3x8 @ 40# (2x20# db's).
Pushups -- 3/10 "walking" my hands across a step.
Plank -- 1x20 seconds, realized this was a bad idea and quit.
Horizontal Wood chop -- none.
I should've called in sick to work, but I'm here... maybe I'll leave early...
I feel awful.

Poor thing! I hope you feel better. I know what that's like. Try to take it easy today and get yourself some ginger ale for your stomach. I hope you feel better, and if you still feel bad tomorrow, rest up and try to get better! Hugs!

Hey Bytsi,
I am just checking on your progress. I have stopped logging but I completed Stage 4 A1 yesterday. I am actually taking a break from NROL4W and am going to work on something different now.
Your pics look great!

I'm officially sick. The flu (or whatever this is) SUCKS.
So glad I got that flu shot . Lotsa good that did!
I ended up staying at work for all of 90 minutes before I realized I was so sick and tired that I wasn't sure how I was going to walk out to my car ... by the time I got home, my fever was 100.2 F. I went to bed and dozed on and off for about 4-5 hours (?)... I'm soooooo achey. Now I can't say for sure if it's flu or because I worked out before I realized I HAd the flu .
At least I know why my workout sucked so bad.
No appetite... I managed to drink about 3/4 of my shake before I got home, and then my DD made me two slices of Ezekiel toast. I'm trying to sip on club soda (tastes better than plain water and helps me burp which helps with the upset tum ).
And of course as I was in bed, I was already thinking things like:
-- if I'm ok tomorrow I'll just go do cardio, probably SS...
-- if I'm down for a few days or so, maybe I'll redo the workout from today - or maybe I'll just restart this stage? Or I could redo a stage 1 workout or 2 til I'm up to going back to this stage? There is something really wrong with me if THAT is my obsession when I get sick .

Thanks Tess... what are you going to be doing now?
I'm wish the tylenol would kick in and break my damn fever... so far no luck .
Maybe I can be "one stomach flu away from my goal weight"? (anyone else see "Devil Wears Prada"?).
The worst part is I was supposed to go see "Sex and the City" tonight with my gf and I had to cancel. Waaaaaah!

Awwww, that's awful! I would not worry about a workout tomorrow! And I think maybe redoing today isn't the worst idea you ever had, since it was so hard to get through.
Take it easy a couple of days and get better. You don't want to make yourself sicker.
I have my fingers crossed that it's a 24 hour bug

Aw, man, sorry you're sick.
Now lay down and rest, you mad woman! Forget the workouts -- don't even think about them.

Yep, THAT! ^^^^^^^^
Please don't over do it. You need your rest and fluids and then when you are 100% you can get right back to it.
I'm sorry that you are so sick, Bytsi. Get better soon!
