Started stage 2 today - jumped right in because I'd already taken my rest week.
FSPP: used the 5' bar because it felt less wobbly. Did a set with the empty bar (32) then 37#. The weight didn't feel too bad, but the wrist transition thing was weird. In order to get a good push press, I think that I was holding the bar on my fingers a little too long. But - my left shoulder felt good afterwards, like a strong workout.
1 point row - 20# db, then 25# - Could go higher when grip and balance allow. I was doing 85# on the seated row, so come on!
Step up - 15#, 20# felt fine
Static lunge - 15# tough...
Pushups - 10 with feet elevated on step, 10 on floor. I want to work on both endurance and strength. I'll start doing longer sets at home, even with a higher angle. I really want to build up to 25 full pushups for tkd.
plank - 60 sec. no prob.
woodchop - 50# - tough to keep my hips square; probably trying too much weight. we forgot to bring the book, so it wasn't until the second set that we remembered the correct form.
Got a good sweat going. 60 minutes total. I didn't feel totally dead afterwards. My back is a little tired from the rows - trying to keep balanced and remembering to keep a neutral back was hard. leaning over with 50# in weight brought me back to reality fast.

No Saturday workout - had a tkd promotion test instead. phew - all went well. It's not a major workout, but enough of an adrenaline rush to wipe me out for the day. As per goals .. jump spinning kicks are improving, to say the least. Some require single leg launches, some double. No horse stances in my form, so no pain (see below). Next form has serious horse stances...
Strained my right groin last night playing DDR. how lame is that? Then, while waiting for my turn at the test, I aggravated it more trying to stretch, keep it warm, etc. I should have just popped a few ibu this morning, but I'm out of the habit since starting to lift.
Gym is closed tomorrow - community center - but I want to ease into the BW matrix, so I'll give it a go tomorrow at the park. I'm going to phase it in - do rounds of 8, then build up to the 24 required. I'm also planning out my HIIT - I'm not too into the treadmill, so will probably opt for tabata style. Velogirl wants me to wear a HR monitor .. gadget queen!

Congrats on your belt promotion - great new avitar!
You're lucky to not have horse stances - those can be PAINFUL, especially after an Alwyn workout!

Looks like fun!!!
Here's my current kata (Naifanchin Shodan) - it translates to 'defending the castle' and is done entirely in horse stance in a straight line (like your back is to the castle wall) -- YouTube - Naifanchin Shodan Kata (not sure how to embed the actual video)... - This one HURTS when you did lunges or step-ups the day before
Are we nuts, or what!?!?!?

To add to the form goodness , here's my most recent: YouTube - Martial War. It's called "Martial War" and is done to the song "War" from Rocky IV (it's the song during the final fight). The video was shot at my BB test; the girl on the left is our current head instructor. Master Khan is the one calling out instructions during the form.
The form takes little bits of different forms and mashes them together, which really messes you up when trying to do the other forms later
(Edit: I finally found myself in the video. I'm the second blob from the left, front row, next to the girl in the red top.)

*gigglesnort* We're only blobs because you can't see anything except the vague outline of a person. I only know it's me because I know we were sitting in the front and that Jan was wearing a red top and Anbu, on my other side, is Indian and, therefore, darker; otherwise, we're all indistinct blobs. Actually, at my BB test, I was in the best shape of my life. My goal is to get back there.
Now I'm gonna quit hijacking Lisa's log (for today) and go dig my own out...

Well, let's GO, girl! We'll see you over there.
And, Lisa; you are TOO erudite. I love your wit. Keep smiling.

okay, I'm really sore today. Yesterday I had the "puffy" feeling in my quads and hamstrings, due to Karla's squat and DL workout Tuesday night -- "Let's do both lifts so we can check out form." Today, it's just painful.
I don't even remember weights and reps .. but the significant thing was the adjustment to my squat form. I'd been a wide stance (ew, visions of Larry Craig) squatter, due to issues with tipping over. She had me do a narrower, parallel foot stance. Using this stance, I didn't have the balance issue, nor as severe knee quivers. It felt really awkward and weird, but she and Linda reassured me that it looked a hundred times better. Go figure.
I'm supposedly doing an upper body w/o tonight, but the idea of being sore high and low is not so appealing to me... we'll see.
