It's just such a small amount of the overall weight I think, that's why I don't see it.

I think you don't see your changes in your body shots because you live with your body day in and day out. The changes are more subtle to you. However, to someone who sees your body shots once a month, they will see the differences that you can't.
Nice change on your avi BTW.

I think we all do.

We'll see. I'm really trying to be positive about it, but I'm having serious body issues as I continue to lose weight. Especially with the specter of loose skin and such. Oh well, I suppose I'd rather be a healthy weight with loose skin.

Again, we'll see.
One of these days I really should put some make-up on before taking a picture. I do own some. I think I got away from wearing it when I started working in manufacturing plants. More with the last one where no matter what I started out as I'd end the night as a dirty mess. It took about three weeks to stop wearing any clothes I cared about. That's something I'll need to work on as well over the next little while.

Stage 3 - A4 (6/30)
I started with 10-mins on the treadmill and then did:
A: One-armed Dumbbell Snatch - 32e/6, 32e/6, 35e/6
B1: Dumbbell Single-leg Romanian Deadlift - 25e/6, 25e/6, 25e/6
B2: Barbell Bent-over Row - 90t/6, 90t/6, 95t/6
C1: Dumbbell Single-arm Overhead Squat - 20&10/6, 20&10/6, 25&12/6
C2: Dumbbell Incline Bench Press - 27.5e/6, 27.5e/6, 30e/6
D1: Plank - 90sec (45-degree), 45+45sec (on floor), 45+45 (on floor)
D2: Reverse Wood Chop (on floor) - 32t/6, 32t/6, 35t/6
Bodyweight Matrix (modified): 96 squats, 48 lunges (each leg)
HRM: 90mins, 642 cals, Max: 154 (87%), Avg: 127 (71%)
I definitely don't think I had the enthusiasm for this today, but I pushed through and did it anyway. I even managed to do a couple of squat jumps (we're talking 3 or 4 here). I really love the one-armed dumbbell snatch though, I'm going to miss it as I move on to Stage 4. I most definitely will not miss the planks! I'm starting to have troubles getting the dumbbells into position for the incline bench press. As I don't have a bench I'm getting the incline using a swiss ball against the couch. I really don't have a problem pressing the 30-lb dumbbells, but getting to the starting position is a royal pain.
Anyway, time to go think about making lunch. Then a few outdoors chores, some watering, and a swim. Thankfully the weather is nice enough to do those today.

Make up is overrated. The pic is great and the changes are very noticeable. You are doing amazing with your plan. I feel for you with the changes seeming so small but hang in there and keep on keeping on! Better to do it safely and long term than to end up in the hospital again.....

I agree with everyone about the new avi and the body changes being hard to see on yourself.
Yay for all that red in the workout!

I just started doing that. I've seen other people do it, but I realized that I hadn't been doing it. I kind of like it because it gives me a really quick look at how well I'm doing.

Stage 3 - A4 (6/30) - the rest of the day
So I did spend the rest of the day outside kind of puttering around the yard. It would be so nice if we had some consistent summer. Some of the pots are starting to look really nice so I should remember to take a few pictures. That was it for the rest of the day really.
Food for the day:
Total: 2409 (35% fat, 31% carbs, 33% protein)
Breakfast: egg/egg white omelet with cheese, pecan raisin bread, jam, grapefruit (488)
AM Snack: almonds (164)
PWO: protein shake with frozen cherries (233)
Lunch: whole wheat tortilla, BBQ pork, cheese, apple (439)
PM Snack: soy nuts, protein shake (269)
Dinner: corned beef, cabbage with tomato, butter, salad w/dressing (494)
Late Snack: cherries, protein shake (323)

Another great workout, Anne, with so many new PRs!!!!! Your new picture is great! I've been thinking about joining the challenge, too, but I'm hesitant about pictures. I figured if I took pictures of myself with my head not in it then it would be better. But I guess I'd have to change my avi picture so no one can put my face with the body.

I'm a little like that myself. I don't want to see them around later somewhere else. I do feel that if you do them with your head not in them (or blurred) you'll be okay though. I suspect nobody would bother trying to re-attach your head from your avatar. Even if they did it would just look like someone put your head on a random body.

Funny - I don't put my face here cuz I don't want anyone IRL to know whose fat body is in my pics! I'm sure if someone knew me they could figure it out, since I give away tons of personal info... but still - hopefully no passing acquaintance would go "OMG that's Bytsi!"
If they put my avatar on my body... wow... that'd be an interesting outcome!!!

You know, most of the people who know me know that (a) I weigh a lot, and (b) have been losing weight. So I don't think I worry that anybody I know will see them. I think I'd take my head off (or obscure face) as I wouldn't want to find out it was on some fat fetish site (or worse). As long as I lose the weight and keep it off then the fat pictures shouldn't bother me. I suppose it might bother me later if I can't keep it off.
I kind of think it would be funny to see the avatar on your body. You should really do that!

Cardio day (7/1)
Well, it's Canada Day here, which doesn't really mean much to me this year (another day off when they're all days off doesn't matter). I've been a busy person today. I did get my cardio in, but in three sets, as I kept stopping to do other things. I watered plants, took a few pictures, etc.
Oh, and I picked mulberries this morning (from our house and the neighbours' - they know). This involves putting a couple of sheets on the ground under the trees and then shaking them very hard. I've left it a little late this year, evidenced by the multiple berries in the grass before I started. So I got a little over a pound of berries. Then, since I'm insane, I made jam.
Yes, mulberry apple grapefruit.... conserve / jam / marmalade. Who knows? I kept the amounts of fruit that I put in along with the sugar. Just in case it's actually tasty and I want to make it again. I ended up with 4 x 1/2 pt jars. Once I'm sure it jelled I'll take one of them next door to the neighbour whose tree I picked from this morning. She did offer last week, but I'd really like it if they picked the fruit, not just tell me that it was okay to take it.
From the HRM:
| Exercise | Time | Cals | Max HR | Avg HR | Max % | Avg % | | Walking Outside | 0:20:00 | 144 | 147 | 137 | 83 | 77 | | Walking Outside | 0:20:00 | 162 | 156 | 142 | 88 | 80 | | Walking Outside | 0:20:00 | 155 | 150 | 140 | 84 | 79 | | Totals | 1:00:00 | 461 |

Anne,
I just wanted to thank you for posting in my log re:my food. I appreciate that you took the time to look into my vices a little more closely.
And I do believe I may be coming in here and checking out some of your meals. I am very challenged when it comes to creativity in the kitchen. I need to broaden my horizons. Thank you.
