Todays WOD: "Moe's Dirty Dozen"
12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 reps for time of:
BW Bench Press (195 lbs)
Pull-Ups
Kettlebell Swings - 1.5 pood (55 lbs)

Time: 59 min. Total Reps: 234


This was a 'create your own' WOD I put together yesterday; my dog was put to sleep so I wanted to do something extra-tough.

That sucks about your dog. I had to do the same about six years ago and it was so hard. That is a hell of a workout. Good job there. Have you done XFit before?

I have been doing CF for about 2 months now and every workout I get more obsessed with it. Before CrossFit I was doing NROL, which was probably exactly what I needed to prepare myself for CF (strength-wise). Nothing can fully prepare you for what you get into with these WODs.

But I can't get enough of it. I'm looking forward to trying out 'Eva' tomorrow night.

This was the the toughest WOD I've ever done.

"Eva"

Five rounds for time of:
Run 800 meters
2 pood Kettlebell swing, 30 reps (70 lb DB)
30 Pull-ups

Time: 1 hour 20 min.
As Rx'd, except no fifth 800m run; my left calf muscle freaked out midway through the fourth and I didn't want to look like an ass again and almost fall off the treadmill.

To end the workout I did 3x5 sets of towel pull-ups. After 150 pull-ups and 150 DB swings they felt pretty good.

10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 reps of the triplet:

Deadlift: 1 1/2 body weight (255 lbs)
Bench press: body weight (195 lbs)
Clean: 3/4 body weight (145 lbs)

Time: 40 min. PR BY 5 MINUTES!
Plus I added more weight. + 5 BP and +10 lbs on my DL/Cleans

This is one of my favorite WODs.

Handstand Push-Ups (Shoulder Presses - 135 lbs ---> 115 lbs) Some asshat was lurking by my station so I dropped the weight to get out of there.

10 push-ups
15 squats

Times/Rounds ... Diane = 8 minutes
Cindy = 15 rounds (PR by 2! If I had not done Diane I dare say I could have reached 18.)

Cleans 1x5 = 155 - 165 - 175 - 180 (PR) - 165
Squats (To Heavy Single) = Finished at 255 (ATG)

I need to work on my snatch and cleans movement. I'm not sure if I'm actually doing them with 100% proper form.

PM WOD: 3 rounds/time:
6 DB power clean + press (40 lbs) - per arm
16 1-arm KB swings (55 lbs) - per arm
26 kipping pu's

Time: 18 min.

Did just regular pull-ups, don't have the kipping motion down yet. My arms still feel a little beat from yesterdays WOD.
The 1-arm KB swings are a killer.

"Nate" = As many rounds in 20 min:
2 MU's ( 3:1...pull-ups/dips:MU)
4 Handstand PU's (135 [for 3 rounds] down to 115 lb press)
8 2-pood KB swings (70 lb DB)

10 Rounds. I feel like I got hit by a truck.

This was extra tough after a week off and eating like shit.

Box Jumps (20 '' = knee ht.)
Push Press (75 lbs)
Rows

1 minute/station, one min. rest at the end of the entire round. Repeat.

I had to modify to save time since my gym wasn't designed for CF...
(rower was broke too so you'll see how I managed with that)

Order changed to:
Push Press
Sumo DL's
WallBalls
Box Jumps
Kettlebell swings (30 lbs)


TOTAL: 296

I had to hold back Pukey from during the wallballs and DB swings. If I had not done PM work I think my total would have been close to 320-330 range. I'll get her next time.

(Those front squats were the only good to come of todays workout.)

Back Squats = 225 lbs x 3
HSPU Work = 145 lb press

CF WOD: 'Barbara' Five Rounds for Time:
20 pull-ups
30 push-ups
40 sit-ups
50 squats
(3 min rest between each round)

1st round = 3:30
2nd round = 4: 25
STOPPED.

Still very beat up after yesterdays WOD. I wasn't going to post this, since its a FAILURE for sure, but sometimes you need that to keep you going.

CrossFit:
"Fran"

Three rounds, 21-15- and 9 reps, for time of:
95 pound Thruster
Pull-ups

TIME: 6:30 (PR by 10 minutes.)

April 1, 2008:

2 x CFWU

PM Work: Muscle Snatch (57% of snatch) - 90 lbs, 2x3
2 Position Clean = Floor, mid-thigh (70%) - 135 lbs x 4 sets
Rack Pull : x 3 then to heavy single - 225 - 275 - 315 - 345 - 365x1 - 385x1 (probably a PR, I'm not sure)

Strength Work 5x5 : Clean DL + shrug - 185 lbs
High Hand Clean - 135 -145
Clean (from deck) - 145 -165 x 1 set - 155 x 3 sets

Pull-Ups: 1x15 , 2x8 (grip was beat by the end)

CF WOD's:

'Fight Gone Bad'

Three rounds of:
Wall-ball, 20 pound ball, 10 ft target (Reps) - Subbed 2 - 20 lb DB's
Sumo deadlift high-pull, 75 pounds (Reps)
Box Jump, 20" box (Reps)
Push-press, 75 pounds (Reps)
Row - Subbed One Arm DB swings - 1 pood, switch every 5 reps

1 minute rest between rounds. (~ 1:30 rest after round 1, holding down the hurl)

TOTAL: 318 (105-110-103 reps/round)
PR + 22 reps

8 minute rest.

WOD #2:

'Kodiak'
3 Rounds for time:
10 Bear complexes - 95 lbs
12 Pull-ups
15 Dips

TIME: 10:30

First time doing bear complexes. They're exhausting and dangerous; I nailed the back of my head halfway through round 1. It provided some anger to plow through it though.
