Did you know 75% of migraine sufferers are women? Can you guess why?
Hey! I just saw this post and I wanted to let you know if you have a hard time with them all the time you might do well with an elimination diet. It was so tough for me to do, but I found that aspartame and citrus were huge triggers for me. That and decongestants were killing me. It's seriously changed my life!

That's awesome about the cookies. I've found my "treat" cravings have gone down with this program. I think it is all the calories. Your body isn't begging for any food around - especially not massive high calorie foods

Thanks a lot Rixa! I love the way you explain in such great detail. That's exactly what Natalia said too. So, higher calories here I come!

Yes, I've definitely noticed that aspartame on an empty stomach is a disaster. Splenda doesn't seem to have an effect. But I think most of my migraines are hormonal - they really only bother me right around my period. I had a low-grade migraine once for five days - from the day my period started till the day it ended. But yes, I can see how an elimination diet would be helpful. I can definitely recognize how what you put into your body could trigger a headache.

It's fun, I promise! There's way more room for fun things, like peanut butter or almonds, maybe a square of chocolate, extra fruit and cheese...AND you'll have more energy. I'm making myself hungry.

Hi! Trying to catch up with some logs since the long weekend. It looks like you have one more workout to go in Stage 2?
I just the first workout in Stage 3 last night. It's an ass-whooper! I'm glad I took the week off between the two, but ymmv.

I also had lethargy-promoting feasting on Sunday, reacted to it on Monday with carb cravings up the ying-yang, but now am hopefully all settled and ready to go again on my cut. How're you holding up?

I took a full week off between Stage 1 and 2, so I don't think I'll take a full week off this time. I'm actually really looking forward to starting Stage 3, so I don't know if I could wait even if I wanted to.

I'm doing well. Not too bad coming off Easter. Yesterday my BF and I had a fight, and I went with a few coworkers to Bells Brewery across the street. It was opening day for their summer beer - Oberon - and I had one of those, but still made it in under my calorie count for the day, so I don't feel TOO bad. Today I'm PMSing and still fighting with the BF, so I'm trying hard not to eat out of stress. We're going out to eat for his birthday Thursday, so I'm anticipating that I'll eat more calories then and trying to compensate by being very good now. But it's hard - PMS + stress = major stomach flips and cravings for chocolate. Bah.

On the upside, I can feel my thigh muscles underneath a layer of fat and they are ROCK HARD. It's strange! I like it.

Sorry to hear you're fighting with the BF. That's no fun at all.
You know how some people have charm bracelets to keep them away from emotional snacking? Your thigh muscles could be your version of your charm bracelet--do a little flex when you're feeling tempted and you'll be like: "no way! time to unveil this baby!"

Chocolate cravings are hard because there is no real substitute for it....but perhaps factor in a square of the good stuff into your cal counts for the day and make sure you savour them....maybe that will help.

Go for it girl. You will be surprised if you eat clean how much you can eat. In fact I would be surprised if you can eat as much calories as you should even.

Despite the fight with the BF - lucky you for being across the street from a fantastic brewery!

Indeed. It's hard in the summer - you can see right into the Beer Garden (outdoor area with a stage, picnic tables, lots of grass) from some of our meeting rooms. Talk about LONG days of summer.

You poor thing! I will gladly take on your burden.

*bursts into tears* WHY DOES BEER HAVE TO MAKE ME FAT?!

If only I could pick a superpower...

Haha, Super Buff Girl thwarts the evil Beer Master by consuming ALL the beer in sight and saving the hostage Boy Scouts from a life of apron-bellies and foot-in-mouth syndrome.

One of these days I'm going to puke at the gym.

Workout 2B4 - 2x10 (Last one! Goodbye Stage 2!)
Deadlift - 75, 85
Bulgarian Split Squat - BW, 10lb plate
Underhand Lat Pulldown - 100lbs, 100lbs (BOOYAH!)
Rev. Lunge from Box w/Forward Reach - 10s, 10s (this is where the pukey feeling came in - pretty sure I looked like I wanted to die)
DB Prone Cuban Snatch - 10s, 10s
Swiss Ball Crunch - 10lbs, 10lbs
Rev. Crunch - BW, BW
Lat. Flexion - 1st version, 1st version
Prone Cobra - 90s, 60s

Holy crap, looking at this workout with all the fancy colors, no WONDER I was nauseated pukey. I upped the weight on 5 of 9 exercises, and upped the weight from last week (though not all-time) on at least a couple more. Whew. Damn.

A woman at the gym, Donna, was like, "Are you okay?" I told her I was feeling nauseas pukey, and she was like, "Oh no..." and I said, "No, it's a good workout if you feel nauseas pukey."

There's a girl at work, Megan, who used to run regularly and she's looking to get back into it. She did a marathon in high school, now she's 23 (I'm 24) and hasn't been running regularly for a while. I told her when the weather warms up, we'll go out to the track at the local university and do some sprints. (I also have in mind a HIDEOUS set of stairs up the side of a hill on another part of campus for stair drills...but that's a surprise.) Anyway, I'm really looking forward to it. I'm a crap runner, but I've always enjoyed sprints as opposed to distance running. I need the weather to warm up a bit, though, because when I exercise outside in the cold, I get exercise/cold-air induced asthma a little bit. Wheezy and phlegm-y for HOURS. Maybe in April it'll heat up a bit.

I may start practicing on the treadmill at the gym. I may also start throwing in sets of pull-ups and chin-ups on the assisted pull-up machine just for giggles.

And by giggles, I mean more nausea pukey feelings.

I'm going to have to stop asking my boyfriend to poke my quads so often. I think once a week is enough. He's going to start teasing me. I can feel it.

Edit: I decided to change all references to nausea to "pukey". I think it's more spirited, don't you?
