It's a big purchase, and I keep putting it off to be responsible with my money. So now, here's an opportunity: I'll be getting this "extra" money any way. When I meet my goals, I'll give myself permission to spend it on something I don't really need, but definitely really want.

Maybe I should print out a picture and put it up on my fridge...that's what people do with pictures of bathing suits, right?
Sounds like a GREAT reward for meeting your goal - I say DO IT!!! And of COURSE you need to put it up on your fridge!

Oh greek yogurt is so tasty. I'm all about honey and sliced almonds, or my new thing is dried tart cherries from Harry and David's. I'm hoping they have some of those at the organic market by me so I don't have to run all the way across town for the tastiness! I might do it too.

If you can't afford greek yogurt you can strain plain yogurt and get the creamy effect. Just dump a tub into some cheese cloth and let it strain a couple of hours. Not exactly the same but darn close!

Congrats on being sore. I know the feeling. It hurts like hell to go down stairs, but it makes you crack a smile of pride too. I haven't been there in awhile, but I'm expecting it when I switch to stage 2 and mix it up. It's a good feeling, even through the pain

I vote to go for the camera but only if you meet your goals. Can't think of a cooler reward actually. Nice....

Yes, now I'm really excited to meet my goals ... And if it takes me a little longer than I had expected, well, I've been talking myself out of getting that camera for three years, so whats another couple months? I've been steadily progressing since January, which feels really good. And having such a big, meaningful reward (I love photography) at the end is really motivating to push it a little harder.

I had to take another day off lifting! Whoa, Fat Loss 1, way to kick my butt. I DO think I'll be able to do some HIIT this afternoon, and then go for workout B tomorrow morning, but at about 3am this morning, I woke up, realized I was still crazy sore, and had to reset my alarm. I think I got about 11 hours of sleep last night. I'm actually very excited to be so worn out at the end of the day - it's a symptom of fat loss. =o)

The patience is good. It can be hard to be patient with oneself. You have such an awesome attitude.

I look forward to ooohing over your new pics when you get your new beautiful camera!

Good call on the sleep. Let those little musclies reknit and grow....growing pains again. You stocking up the epsom salts? LOVE them. Use the salts with a bit of eculplytus oil in your bath, grab a trashy read, and enjoy.

No, great idea! Maybe I'll take a bath tonight...um, sometime between cooking the rest of my meals for the week and doing HIIT...

I want to share with everyone - I'm shrinking, SHRIIINNKKING....

(dramatic re-enactment)

(something like that)

Anyway, I weighed in this morning just for giggles...the scale is bouncing all over. But when I MEASURED my waist (my tummy was feeling flatter), I'm down to 31.5" today! From a regular measurement of 32" (a little up, a little down). Anyway, I'm feeling good. I'm like the little engine that could...I think I can, I think I can...

Ha ha--too funny!
AWESOME about shrinking!
I've been putting it off forever--I REALLY need to grab a measuring tape. I swear this week I have been feeling slimmer in the belly. but the scale was at an all-time high this morning....it's messing with my brain....gah!

I know what you mean! I've been feeling like my belly has been getting tighter - but the measurement around my waist just took some time to catch up. My bodyfat calipers have been backing me up on it every step of the way, but that damn measuring tape...

I guess this is why everyone says to measure in a million different ways - with the scale, in inches, with calipers. And I think it's important too to trust that when you FEEL skinnier, tighter, leaner, harder, or whatever, that the feeling is coming from some place real. And evenutally, if you keep practicing your healthy habits, everything else will catch up with those feelings. (I can't stop feeling my muscles...sometimes I just pound against my thighs to feel my hand bounce back - so that's what people mean when they say thighs of steel...)

Definitely get that camera! you deserve it after all your hard work.
I did FLII (B) and there was no way I could do the intervals afterwards so I just jogged on the treadmill for 15 minutes at about 137bpm and that actually helped with my sore muscles. I got the NROL4W yesterday and I'm planning to implement the calorie guidelines in the book combined with the original NROL Fat Loss series. That of course will be after I'm done with my 2-week maintenance calories.
I have a picture of Rachel Cosgrove stuck in front of my treadmill. Those hard abs really help me focus when I'm huffing and puffing. I also have a picture of Luca Toni (an Italian soccer player) to help me focus in something else.... LOL.
Olga.

Really? I'm tired all the time! Wish it meant I was skinny

Congrats on the measurements. That was the best feeling when I measured at month one (still have posted those numbers ), but to see them shrink helped a lot! My scale has been all over too. I've given up on it meaning anything.

(I do the thigh thing too. It's like my reminder that the eating clean and the workouts are working. Sometimes it's all that gets me through)

Workout FL1 - B1
3x15, 75s rest
Deadlift - 65, 70, 70
DB Incline Bench Press - 20, 20, 20
Bulgarian Split Squat - BW, BW, BW
Mixed-grip Lat Pulldown - 85, 80, 75
Romanian Deadlifts - 65, 65, 65 (I used to like these!)
Swiss Ball Lateral Roll - BW, BW, BW

Oh. My. God.
1. New nickname. Alwyn "Wrecking Ball" Cosgrove.
2. I want. To die.
3. If I never see another Bulgarian Split Squat when I'm done with NROL/4W, it'll be too soon.

I was fighting nausea after the first superset. I was doing my Romanian Deadlifts on fumes. Rest times got longer while sweat just ROLLED off my face. Screw Chinese water torture - if you want to get someone to break, just put them through this a few times.

After my first FL1 workout on Monday, my body was totally cut up for two whole days. So maybe by Saturday afternoon, I'll start to get the feeling back in my ass from this workout...I'm not afraid to take the ice pack to work.

There's a whole different set of people in the gym on Thursdays. I don't like 'em!

Seriously, an Alwyn Cosgrove workout is a religious experience...because I'm going to be praying for sweet mercy for the next two days.
