Default Yada, Yada, Yada.....

Okay, so I love Seinfeld. What can I say?

A little bit about me:

I'm a 36-year-old mother of two. I'm 5'2" and weigh 135 pounds. I go to the gym every morning and my workouts usually consist of 3 total body workouts a week and cardio every day. The cardio is usually a mix of kickboxing, spinning, and step class. I have a knee injury that I've been dealing with for three years and have had to give up running for the time being. I've had four surgeries in three years, but that's another story. I was never a huge runner, but I did enjoy running once or twice a week just to change it up a bit. I especially enjoyed running outside at the track and doing a high intensity interval workout. But for now...I need to stick with the non impact stuff.

I started NROL4W last week. So far, I LOVE it. I'm really looking forward to moving on past this first stage, but I know how important it is to start at the beginning so I'm forcing myself to do it right. I'm only going to be able to get 2 workouts in this week because of a short school week, but my plan is three times a week. It will look like this:

M:Lifting and HIIT
T:Pilates
W:Lifting and HIIT
R:Kickboxing and Pilates
F:Lifting and HIIT
S:Pilates
Su: Off

As for food, this is where I have my problem. My goal in starting this log was to keep myself accountable for what I put in my mouth. I really don't have a problem eating healthy. I like healthy food. My problem usually is that I'm too lazy to take the time to make a healthy, well balanced snack. So I tend to nibble throughout the day and usually by the end of the night I'm not only below my calories, but I've failed to eat a balanced diet.

I'll measure and post pics tomorrow when I've got more time. Kids should be home any second.

So here I go! I've looked around here a bit, but haven't spent enough time to really "know" anybody. I look forward to getting to know you guys and learning from you all! Constructive criticism is welcome!

Kristi

Thanks for the warm welcomes.

Okay, let's try this again. I had sick kids last week and two days off of school. Really interferes with my schedule, but I did manage to get two days of lifting in last week along with my cardio and have started strong this week. My eating is on track and I'm feeling great. Here's yesterday's workout:

Squats 2x12 85 lbs
Push-ups 2x12 with legs on a stability ball
Seated Row 2x12 65 lbs
Step ups on a weight bench 2x12 15 lbs
Prone jack knife 2x12 straight legs

Workout seems easy to me, but I'm following it from the beginning b/c I know that's what I need to do. I will increase on Friday when I do A again. B will be tomorrow and I'll do some intervals today as well as Wednesday and Friday.

I'm still having a hard time getting all my calories, but it's mostly the protein I seem to lack in. Is it okay to have two protein shakes a day just to get that up there? Or should I try to force more chicken down me?

We are getting a snow storm today so my kids are home and outside playing. Why are kids so hyper on snow days???

I'm looking forward to a "normal" schedule next week.

Off to find some inspiration. You guys are amazing on here!

Hi Kristi! don't you hate it when those pesky kids get sick! That's life though, good job for getting some workouts in anyways. That is the key to all of this - consistency.
Good luck!

Yeah really, what are they thinking?

I'm consistent with the workouts, it's the eating I have a hard time with. But...I'm on track this week. Let's hope it stays this way.

Thanks for stopping by!

I do enjoy snow days, don't get me wrong. I like sleeping in and hanging with the kids all day. I thought for sure we'd have one today because a lot of neighboring schools were off, but....we didn't. Much to my kids dismay.

Thanks!

I did workout 3B today. I'm always amazed at how quickly I can get in and out of the gym. I'm used to being there much longer. I've looked ahead in the book and I know it won't always be that way so I'm enjoying it while I can.

Today's workout:

Deadlifts: 2x12 65 lbs
Shoulder Press 2x12 20 lbs, but dropped to 15 for the last two reps
Pulldowns 2x12 60 lbs
Lunges 2x12, 20 lbs
Swiss ball crunch with legs on wall.

30 minutes on bike - 1 minute at 8 with 2 minutes at 1 for 8 intervals with a warm up and cool down.

I really wanted to run, but can't because of my knee. I really despise doing the bike or the eliptical, but I've decided that I can either accept my limitations and do what I can do, or whine about what I can't do. So....since I won't see any results from whining (except maybe less friends?) I've chosen to find alternatives.

I also added some abwork (planks and reverse curls) b/c I never feel like I do enough abwork with this workout. It's mental I'm sure, but I feel better when I do it.

Eating is on track. I made a weird thing for lunch, but it tasted great. Chopped green peppers, onion, garlic, chili powder, cumin, stewed tomatoes, black beans all cooked and simmered and then dumped over a baked sweet potato. I found the recipe on some message board a while ago but had never tried it. It was surprisingly delicious; sort of sweet and spicy at the same time.

I also made hershey kiss cookies for the kids and had one, but I'm okay with stopping there.

Have a great day everyone!

Kristi
