To find a cleaner I recommend looking on craigslist. You can ask those people for references and they are always cheaper than a company.

Yeah, I don't want to pay someone under the table, though, so with taxes & supplies & stuff I'm sure the cost comes close to a service.

We hired a service and they came Monday and did a poor job, so I tried calling back several times to ask them to re-do it. My messages were pretty bland - just left my name & number & date of service and asked them to call me back. I left 3 messages throughout the week and no one called me back, so my message to them on Friday morning canceled my service. Disappointing.

I have another company coming out Monday to do an estimate & review of the house. If that falls through, I'm going to do more research and see if someone at work can recommend a service or a person who is fully insured & bonded and has an EIN for tax purposes.

Anyway... in fitness news, I am a slacker this week as well but I don't care. I'm enjoying the long break. I weighed myself this morning - 142.8, but that's not surprising given I've been rolling around in carbs for the past 2 weeks (mmmm, carbs). Next week it's UD2.0 and I should drop the weight quickly.

I bought my dress for the our wedding & party from white house black market. I got it in a size 4. It fit when I tried it on yesterday so I hope it still fits even if I lose 5 or so pounds in the next month. I don't think there's any way in hell I could fit into a size 2, to be honest.

We were supposed to get our rings today but ran out of time. I'm going to go order mine this week & we'll order John's next week when he's back from London.

Just cuz it's on craigslist doesn't mean the person isn't insured and bonded. My person isn't insured, but that doesn't mean I couldn't have found someone who was.

A place like Merry Maids could do the job, if you're looking for a registered business. There are a couple in your area.

But I do have to say, the underground economy really does make things "go." Where would BC be without the marijuana industry? It's estimated that 30% of all money going into the BC economy comes from the marijuana industry...

la dee da, I haven't posted or worked out in a while. Taking a major major break and enjoying it. This week's it though - after this it's hard core dieting to get rid of the rest of the fat and work on building muscle.

I bought my wedding dress last week - in a size 4 of all things Also bought a pair of jeans and am now thinking I might have gotten them too big. I bought them in a 6 (Gap's Long & Lean fit) but after a day of wear I'm ms. saggypants. Damn it.

We're ordering our wedding rings this weekend and my shoes should arrive some time in the next few days. The ring didn't work out (too $$$ for what I wanted) so we went for something else instead. Oh well.

Here are the wares:

The wedding's in 24 days.

Ooooooh! Purty!!!!!!!!
LOVE the ring, especially. You are going to be such a beautiful (and hot!) bride!!

Were the jeans "stretch"? Cuz those always stretch out too much for me after I wear 'em...

Wow - beautiful! Congrats on the upcoming wedding. Are you doing it up big? Or more of an intimate event? One of my friends is doing destination in June and I am quite jealous. We did the big ol traditional affair. Tons of work and stress - I consoled myself with wine most nights leading to my inability to lose the weight I wanted for said wedding. I look better now a year later then i did and I kind of kick myself about it. If only I would have known back then what I do now....

Oh and I own two pairs of non stretch. They are silver brand. But most of my jeans also stretch out - saggy butt is quite annoying. Although my Joe's jeans haven't stretched too badly.

We're doing it small I think there will be 16 people there... we're going to the courthouse Saturday morning then having a party Saturday afternoon/evening.

I can't wait - it'll be the first time my family & best friend have been to KC and I'm excited to show them around.

I have been married before and did the big event (it was still only 65 people) and you couldn't pay me enough to go through that again. It was horrible - teeseepoo was my maid of honor and she will agree, I'm sure. It was very symbolic of the marriage - I took care of everything while my husband-to-be sat around getting wasted.

WE made protein powder brownies the other day & they turned out ok. Not the greatest and I'm not sure I want to try them again.

Anyway, one of the ingredients was whipped cottage cheese - basically just cottage cheese whipped up in a blender. WHY have I never thought of this before?! It tastes like a combination of sour cream & cottage cheese.

Tonight I took some of that, mixed it with some fat free refried beans, and turned it into bean dip for my Tostitos Light (love those things, the chips with Olestra) as a snack.

Quite tasty, very low fat, high protein, and moderate carbs. Delish.

Purty shooz - I have a pair of cute black Mary Janes in that same brand and I could ALMOST be convinced to wear heels more often - they're very comfy!

OMG, Olestra does VERY VERY VERY bad things to me! Once, I at a bunch of Olestra chips and I almost went to the ER because I was so scared at what happened.

heh, yeah I don't seem to have any adverse effects from Olestra.

Seems your GI tract is pretty sensitive - didn't you have some pretty bad experiences with Xylitol, or something, from gum? I don't think those indigestible fats or carbs (sugar alcs) agree with you very well.

Beer report - I had a Chouffe Doubblen IPA last night. Only the 2nd time I've had it and MAN I had forgotten how good it is.

I am volunteering this morning at the Walk to D'Feet ALS. I'm a little nervous about seeing people with ALS and having all those memories/emotions surface but I think I'll be okay. I had a dream about my dad last night. All my dreams with him in them are of him well and alive, walking/running around or driving. So I guess that's good, that my dreams are of happy times.

Tomorrow is Day 1 of ultimate diet. I'm making up my shopping list now. Thankfully, I've been low-carbing it on low cals for so long that this shouldn't be a major shock to my system or behavior. And I get to carb-load every weekend. YES.

My (future) sis-in-law and I went shopping yesterday after the ALS walk. I returned those size 6 saggy-butt jeans and got a size 4 instead. Fit like a glove. I got the Essential fit, which is the pair I have in a size 10 that I LOVED when they fit. So, I'll stick with what works I guess. They're still stretch, since GAP doesn't have any non-stretch jeans, but in the future perhaps I'll look elsewhere like Macy's for Levi's or something.

And since I only have 1 pair of work slacks that fits (and is a BR size 6), we went to BR since they're having a giant sale. Tried on Ryan size 6 but they're just not cut for curvy women. I had *two* sales associates helping me - guess I smelled like money

They pulled size 4's for me in the Jackson fit and they fit *perfectly*. They were marked down, I got a pair of $98 pants for $70 and a pair of $80 pants for $30. One of the sales associates asked the other if I should even go down a size (after looking at the waist fit) and I said no. Even if I could squeeze into a size 2, I'm not sure I really want to.

I feel, now, that I'm about at a weight/size I'd like to continue to maintain. I feel happy in this size and even though we're doing UD2.0 for the next few weeks, I really don't care to lose a whole lot more fat. It'd be fun to get uber-lean just to see, but really I think I'm happy at 135-140 pounds and a size 4. SIZE FOUR, PEOPLE.

I was telling my sis-in-law yesterday how much the brain plays tricks on us. I don't really feel any smaller than when I was able to put on size 8 pants for the first time a few months ago. I don't feel this small, and when I look in the mirror I certainly don't think I look that tiny. Maybe it just hasn't sunk in yet.

Thanks I still have that little fat lump above my belly, and it bugs me, but really when I look in the mirror with clothes on it doesn't show. Nor does it hang over my pants when I sit down. So (at least recently) I'm just letting it be a part of me just like my wide feet or big head.

BTW weighed in this morning at 137.8. Weighed in at 140.0 on Tuesday, so... guess the diet break didn't do any harm in the weight arena, though I'm sure I lost some lean mass. Bound to happen, I guess.

Hey, DM! Same here with the Jackson's....size 4! And, same here with still feeling the same as when I was a size 8. Weird, isn't it!

AND, same here with the little fat lump....except mine is below instead of above the belly button.

Good job!

Thanks! It's a shame we can't go shopping together.

I want to add - today marks the lowest I've weighed since I was in 6th grade, and I'm fitter than I've ever been in my life. Down over 80 pounds from my high of 218.

*celebrate*

Congrats on all the success! It's great to be in a place where you are happy with how you look and feel. I hear ya about the pants. I am not close to a 4 yet, but had a 6 almost fit yesterday. Some of mine are getting too big to the point where I look sloppy not professional, so I am on the hunt. Gonna have to check out BR, since my luck at Express all these years seems to have run out, boo.

Oh and I had some delicious Summit Oktoberfest this weekend. It will knock your socks off! Not sure if you have Summit where you are - its a St. Paul brewery. Their EPA is quite popular here.

I know a bar around here that would probably have it, but I have issues with the way they serve beer and treat their customers. As a side note, Brooklyn's Oktoberfest is a mighty good beer.
