Default pls Critique my HIIT

I'm not lookin' for a atta girl!! I'm lookin' for some hard advice!! I have been trying to do the HIIT right, but afterwards I can always go more. So check this out & see if I need to kick it up a little or if this HIIT is going to get the fat burning results I'm looking for. I can't jog/run just yet ,,, BUT that is what I am aiming for........

My HIIT was this today. No incline Treadmill

2-WU
1 @ 8mph
2 @ 4
Cycle this 5 more times
1@ 8.5
2 @ 4
1@ 9.0
5 min cool down @ 3.0 = total of 30 min

While I am doing it , man whoooosh !! But after I get done , I always wish I would have pushed harder!!!

After the HIIT- I did a ab w/o ( got the true PRONE JK !!!! YEAH)

then did another 2 miles on the eliptical resistance 10 ( 7-9 mph)

Since I was able to do the other 2 things , I don't feel like the HIIT was a true??? Or was it ....??? what ch'all' think?? TY much AfterBURN

might want to post this in Training Discussion rather than Training Logs - get more views there.

I agree with the PP, but in the meantime, I would say a couple things:
1. I never do steady state after intervals. Why train two different energy systems when you could just do one, better?
2. I consider true interval training to be nearly puke-inducing. Can you increase the intensity either via speed or incline and still be able to move?
3. You said you can't run... an injury, or are you just not there yet? Do you have access to any other machines? I enjoy the step mill or the elliptical for intervals.

I think you can do abs after intervals, but for lots of reasons, I generally prefer to do that stuff before.

Thats kinda what I was thinking a tru HIIT would be like & I have never got there!!! TY ,,, more goals to get ( PUKE ) haha ,,,, na, it's all fun!!!

I do have access to all machines! I do the stair step climber thing !! I love it ,,, I usually do ss on it... Set it at 7 int & go about 5mph ,,, I can only go 1 mile , then poop out....... I do HIIT on the eliptcal everytime I get on it, int set at 10, & alternate 6mph-10/12 mph---- But even at that, ( no puke state ) I probably need to increase intensity ! My speed i think I'm on target with.

So, I think I'd make your "on" much harder (like, if you're supposed to be going for 30 seconds, you CANNOT go for 32 seconds), and your "off" much easier.

Try that, and give an update when you can.
