Actually instead of heckling I was making a grimace face when I read you were doing pullups, even before I got to the sentence that mentioned them stretching the scar. I can imagine they certainly did.

Big Boy Basics is fun.

I was planning on redoing Big Boy Basics because it would be a could gauge of where I am at. Well the best laid plans of mice and men. Instead of going into the gym I played some long toss with the boy for about 20 minutes, good times, and then went and did some BW stuff at the stations in the neighborhood. Jill did ya hear that I went out side to work out! Man. I'm in a fantastic mood.

3 x 10 Inverted Rows Rest 60s
3 x 2 Pull-ups 60s Rest
3 x 15 push-up
Walked 1/2 miles

I also did 7 flights of stairs at work.

It felt great. I took it easy on the pull ups because I could really feel it on the scar. My inner Jamie told me not to push it. Of course where there is Jamie there is Red close by. He made me do another set while heckling me.

I plan to start BBB tomorrow. I've got 6 weeks before the next cutting. It's time to get busy.
Despite the taunting, I'm gonna say....Yay Gabe!!!! But next time you taunt, look out.

Settle down, Gabe. He didn't say you could make up for all the time lost in the gym. Slow down, you're going to fast. Seven flights is still too many!

Whew! That feels better! I've had all this pint up mothering and really needed to let it out!

Totally kidding, Gabe! That's great news!

It was not a cool feeling. It didn't hurt but certainly was a big, "HEY NOT SO FAST!!" sign.

You would think in my weaken condition that I would be smarter than than to taunt you. I'm not. But you would think I would be.

Thanks for the free pass

If the swelling wasn't so bad in my lower abs I would have a rghteous 6-pack. The top 2 are looking good though.

I forgot to take measurements. I'll try to do it this weekend if I can find my log on page 9.

Wow, Gabe, I haven't checked your log for a while (sorry). What an uplifting read. It has really brightened my morning (and believe me with the grey and rain, it needs all the brightening it can get) to hear what great progress you're making. To be able to throw a few with your son AND get some lifting in is such great news. You must be on top of the world, man. Really great news, my friend.

Hey, hey, things are getting better and he's put on 5 lbs. Nice job, Gabe. Be sure to show us the 6-pack when it emerges.

Big Boy Basics

Day 1 (Upper Body)

BB Bench Presses: 3 x 3 @ 115, 5 x 3 @ 125 R60s
Seated Rows: 2 x 3 @ 115, 6 x 3 @ 130 R60s
Pull-Ups: 8 x 3 @ BW -5 R60s
Standing Shoulder Presses: 8 x 3 @ 35EH R60s

Wow! Comparing this to the last time I did BBB I have lost a lot of strength. I'm also about 15 lbs lighter than when I did this work out. It will come back and at least I know what I'm up against. I probably could have done the pull-ups unassisted but the only pull-up machine I could reach was the assisted one. I am working in the gym in my neighborhood. It's OK but the commercial gyms are better.

Lookit you! Glad to see you back to lifting Gabe. I know how you feel about the losing strength thing. I'm facing that right now as well. But hey, you're LIFTING right? That's something.

I know how frustrating it can be to compare to the past. Don't. Just focus now on getting stronger, man. So amazing you're lifting 2 months after major surgery, bud.

You should never read these logs back to front. I was really worried about Roland's post at first ....

Great to see you back lifting, Gabe. Like Richie, I find it amazing to see you back at it so soon after major surgery and while still under the weather. That's fantastic. You're setting a mighty fine example .... there's no whiner and no quitter in Gabe!

(As an aside, don't you find it just a tad ironic that you picked that particular workout to do .... )

Sounds to me like "back to front" is exactly what Roland had in mind...

Seriously, Gabe -- it's awesome that you're back to lifting. You'll be back to your old form before too long, only this time you'll have the great abs popping.

Thanks for the good words all. Every time I go to the doctor I get confirmation that attempting to have a healthy lifestyle is a good idea and has greatly aided in my recovery. Unfortunately, because of the procedure I had done today I am not allowed to work out again until Thursday. The good news is that based on the results of my colonoscopy that the Doctor told my wife, since I was out of it from the anesthesia, that we can start scheduling me for my final surgery right away.

That could be as much as 3 weeks earlier than originally anticipated since I'll try to have the CAT scan done this week as well. This is fantastic news. I am really excited about it. Why? Because I am healthy.

I think I'll go for a walk.

I went for the walk yesterday and pushed the kids on the swing for a bit.

Today my beloved bride scheduled my CAT scan for Friday. Hopefully, she'll get those results and we'll be ready to go back under the knife. The sooner the better in my opinion.

I thought girls liked the dangerous look. I'll still probably be male model skinny but still dangerous. Think Zoolander with a drawl. Chicks dig it right?
