My building has no open stairway up from the ground floor. 16 story building and we're on the 2nd and 3rd floor. I feel like an idiot taking the elevator up to 2, but there's no way to get into the stairwell from 1. Pisses me off. You can use stairs between 2-3, but not from the ground floor. So we always get the stink eye from the 16th floor execs who are annoyed that you paused them after one floor.

Sweet. I can totally manage that.

Here it is. This picture is about a week old. It is much more closed up than this now. I'll take it down in a couple of days for those that would rather not look at blood and guts.

Wow, that's a big scar, Gabe. I'm with the others - take it easy, man. It's a long journey yet.
(On the stair front, two young guys get on the elevator in my office tower yesterday on 3 and get off on 4 .... morons.)

I've got 2 Dr's appointments on Monday that will tell me if I'm over doing it. I think I've done a good job at listening to my body. For example most nights I'm sleeping at least 9 hours. I'm not pushing that.

Wow, maybe you can get some kind of snake tatoo to cover that thing up.

The Dr. said I am healing like Wolverine. OK. So maybe he didn't put it exactly like that but he did say that I am healing nicely. I put on 3lbs since my last visit. 5lbs according to my Cardiologist but I'll get into that later. The most glorious news is that he released me to work out with weights. He cautioned against ab work and over doing it but otherwise I am free to go. Almost equally as glorious is that he referred me to the Dr. that is putting me back together since he is not comfortable doing it. It seems my level of infection, scar tissue, etc makes it more than routine. Lovely! (Please note the sarcasm.)
I also met with my cardiologist. I think he forgot about the particulars of my case. He started talking like I would be on the medication for every. When I reminded him that I have never had an issue with blood pressure until I almost died then he agreed to test my system in 5 to 6 months. Frustrating but the medicine has no rebound effects so if I "forget" to take it for a couple of days it won't hurt me. Don't worry. I'll wait until well after I am put back together before I do anything crazy.
I meet with the Dr that is putting me together tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll have some good news. Be thinking about what work out I should do. I"M CLEAR TO GO TO THE GYM. Yeah me!

I spoke with Leigh about Sushi and couldn't find any big reason not to have it. I should go easy on the Washabi.
I tried some today and I think we are cleared for lift off.
After my visit today I got the impression that I could pretty much do anything within reason.

When they put me back together they will cut out this scar and make it prettier. I may also get my appendix out while the hood is open.

Cool beans. You'll have orifices opening and closing all over the place. Party.
And Lisa's cartoon mentioning the doctors' "surprise" method of testing pain brings back bad memories.
There's a similar test for possible patellar instability, where a doc will grab your leg and put pressure on the inside of the knee. For people with stable patellas, no biggie. For others, they react right away. It's common to do with athletes to see if some types of prehab may be necessary.
My doc did the test correctly, but he did it three days after I'd dislocated it. Idiot. I instinctively bolted upright and grabbed him by the collar. I think his life flashed before his eyes.

You got it. They'll also clean out some scar tissue. I wonder if I need to bring in a coupon.
