I've been meaning to post pictures.
Hating how you look is the worst feeling ever. And that restless, stir crazy feeling is a close second.

I can't wait to see what Julie has cooked up for you!

I know when I post pics you guys are going to think I'm the most vain person on the planet. I'm not overweight. I never have been. It would take an act of congress to make me that way. Instead I'm the opposite. I'm skinny. My goal is to get the abs back, gain the weight back, and lose the ridge line from the cut versus uncut.

I just looked over Julie's new plan. It's mostly body weight stuff initially which is fine. I've done a lot of BW stuff over the last few years and it can be brutal. I'll probably have DOMS just because it's been so long. If all goes well I'll be into weights next week.

I'm starting to mentally prepare myself for starting. I've set a time frame for September. It's a petty reason but I like giving myself start and finish dates. It's got to be the project manager in me. In September I'm going on a guys trip to the Basketball Hall of Fame and then we are driving to the Baseball Hall of Fame. 2 of 3 parts of the sports HoF Trinity. I also created a measurements spreadsheet. I used to do this every month for about 2 years and I let it fall by the wayside. I want to pick it back up.

I'm headed to the gym in about an hour. I'll let you guys know.

Holy sh#t! and I say that with many years of Catholic school behind me. Julie is now officially among my favorite people on the board. Between her and Leigh I should be cover model ready in no time. Julie composed a largely body weight workout and it put the hurting on me. I loved every minute of it! It’s the first time I broke a sweat in 3 months. I’m excited. I might just go to the gym again on the way home to get some cardio in. It was that good.fficeffice" />

Phase 2

Walking Lunges: 2 x 12 @ BW R60s
Stiff-Arm Lat Pull Down (standing) 2 x 12 @ 30, 1 x 12 @ 40 R60s
Single Leg Pistol Squats (band assisted) 2 x 12 @ BW R60s
Inverted Rows 2 x 12 @ BW R60s
Single Leg RDL 2 x 12 @ BW R60s
Push Press 2 x 12 @ 40 R60s

Comments: It needless to repeat that it felt good but it did. My legs must be really out of shape because all the leg work was tough. The SL-RDL’s made me look like a drunken Tai Chi practitioner. There is no worry that I’ll move up to weight on that one any time soon. A bonus was that I found out that the gym at work has bands. It’s actually a pretty cool little gym. They have all sorts of exotic equipment. I need to give them props.

The upper body stuff was nice. All of those exercises are among my favorites. Even though Julie sent me a video showing me how to do one of them and I think I was doing the demonstration weight. Arrgh!!! I anticipate that I’ll be able to move up in weight on those relatively quickly. I think I was limited because of my son’s baseball practice yesterday. They were taking fly balls in the outfield and it was my job to relay the throw to home. One of the dads said I was really bringing it. Oops! I didn’t mean it. It’s just that I don’t have a medium speed. My shoulder muscle has a bit of DOMS and I think that was limiting. Maybe not.

I’m off. My wife is going to see Sex and the city. If the kids cooperate that should give me plenty of time to take half naked pictures and post to the Internet and do measurements. (Yeah, you can take that one out of context can’t you!)

That’s the latest update. By the time I got done typing this fatigue has really set in. I’m now not sure how good of an idea it would be to hit the gym again for cardio. Maybe I’ll see if the short one wants to go back to the pool instead.

Is this all in effort to reclaim your underwear modeling career?

Keep me posted on how it goes ... we'll get progressively harder, but remember that tissue is still healing on the inside ... we don't want to tear anything out!!

Yay Gabe. So glad you're getting back into the game! Hey, I thought I was among your favorite people on the board.

I learned this with my kids. It's all word games. Guess how many kids I have if I say one is my favorite son and one is my favorite daughter and none of them get offended.

You can be among my favorite people on the board as well. "among my favorite" is a broader group than 2. If I closed out the group at 2 people they would be my favorites. Get it. I'm crafty like that. Plus I'm scared of you. You lift more than I do and you're a mom. It's commonly known that moms are tough.

OK boys and girls. Here are the measurements. Yikes! There is an inch differential between my belly and waist. It stops just below my top set of abs which is where the ridge is. We'll work on that. At least now I have a baseline.
