I'll send you a meeting request.

I had an active weekend. I did a lot of batting practice with the boy. Not any actually throwing unless you got soft toss. Just sitting on a bucket and placing balls on a tee. It was good stuff and nice to get outdoors. I even got a little sunburned.

Have you read "game of thrones"? It's fantasy so it might not be up your ally specifically but it's good. Give it 200pgs before you give up. Think....HBO series. First episode or two you force yourself through then it's crack.

Good bump, Jamie. I've been thinking the same thing. I'll try to rouse him in the Clubhouse too.

I'm alive. I've been incredibly busy. Between work, life and not being able to do anything fitness related I've been lax in my communication. Frankly, with everything that has been going on this place has had to become a much lower priority for the near term. Things should start slowing down by the start of the summer. I'll be caught up on work and able to work out again. Some of my family commitments will also be completed.

I brought my gym bag today to get on the treadmill and starting walking. I'm 5 weeks out of surgery so there should be no danger as long as I don't start running. A nice slow easy walk.

Thank you everyone for keeping track of me. It's nice to have friends that notice when you are gone. I promise I'll try to be a more visible presence at least in the logs if I can't make it anywhere else on the board.

glad you're alive and well! It was great to have lunch last week and see the "legend" in person!

I spent 15 minutes on the treadmill. No incline. I made it up to about a level 3. Remember, I'm taking it slow. In 15 minutes I traveled a little over a half mile.

Not bad. I'm resting today.

Easy does it and you will come back stronger than ever.

You're a real trooper, Gabe.

Thanks John. Right now I feel like a real slug. I have baseball practice with the boy. That should be good for a little light toss.

My son is a good governor on my activities. He'll make sure I'm not doing long toss.

Gabe:

I read your journal and have been following your surgery stuff quietly in the background. I'm glad that you are on the mend and that things are slowly improving for you.

Gabe, I had no clue you had gone through multiple surgeries. I recall you mentioning surgery a while back, but for some reason I thought it was kidney stones. As a veteran of multiple abdominal surgeries (although not as invasive as yours), best wishes for a full and complete recovery. You have a great attitude and I'm sure you'll be back to 100% very soon.

Thank you Paula and Kaiser. So far this year has been on gigantic kick in the shorts. It is turning around though. My plan is to be back by the middle of the summer. It's more fun to have a goal anyway.

I'm currently starting to dial in my diet. It's slow going as I have to unlearn some bad habits. Concurrently, I am starting to walk more. Eventually, I want to swim and bike when I am released. I think that initially those activities have a low probability of letting me over do it to the point where I hurt myself again. They aren't cutting me open any more so I don't get the do over I got 6 weeks ago.

If anyone has any suggestions I am all ears. I am 1-3 weeks to being released to do full physical activity. I need a plan.

15 minutes on the treadmill. Incline 1 speed 3. I did 3/4 of a mile. I see the doctor next week. Hopefully, she'll release me to do more.
