I started multi-quoting all of the hilarious replies on the topics of boobs and Christian Bale, but lost count of the quotes!
As far as Christian Bale, I'm with Ginger, and even though I totally dig that smoldering gaze he is rocking, I'm definitely into him for his body. He does have that scruffy look I find quite sexy, I like my men with a little bit of "scumbag" to them.
On the topic of boobs, I see absolutely nothing wrong with a tasteful augmentation. I have gone from a DD to barely a C cup and while I am loving the rest of my body, the twins continue to disappoint me. I definitely see myself going under the knife to fix all that. My husband doesn't mind, but he claims that he has never felt fake breasts and feels he needs to "do some scientific research" before I get the total green light. In his case, I guess I also like my men with a little bit of "douchebag" to them.

Well, was up half the night with something disturbing going on with my stomach and I figured it was something I ate for dinner. Wrong.
Crawled out of bed this morning feeling completely miserable and running a low grade fever. Went into the office for a few hours before being sent home because I "looked like shit". (always so nice to hear) So, ever since returning home, I have laid on the couch and rotated between sweating profusely and then layering on the blankets. I got that stupid flu shot last fall, but this sure feels like a stomach flu to me, so who knows. Needless to say, I cancelled all training for today and didn't do a dang thing for myself. I have been making myself eat every 2-3 hours to try and keep some nutrients in my system, and have been making sure to include some whole grains in every nosh working on the whole "ABC" principle of treating nausea. I'm feeling somewhat better, just very weak and that nasty sluggishness of knowing all I did was lay around.
I do plan on getting up early and if I seem to be on the mend, hitting the gym. At the very least, it is supposed to be sunny and almost 40 degrees (which will seem great for the crappy weather we've had!), so if I'm still too fatigued by this bug, I'm going outside for some fresh air and will get in some cardio. If I don't feel any better, I'm taking another day off to ensure total recovery for my getaway this weekend!
Sorry for the oversharing, long-winded re-telling of my crappy day, just had to vent about how much it sucks to be sick and losing what should have been a great workout day.
That doesn't sound good... I hope you feel better!
Thanks sweetie! Me too-I feel like my body should be immune to stuff like this, but alas, I AM still a mere mortal. (insert weak, wobbly smiley icon here.)

Oh no! I hope you are on the mend. Please don't push yourself, you have to be better for our visit this weekend.
Ironically, I am home with Makenna today for some similar issues. The girl is running a fever and has it coming out both ends, primarily the rear one.
So, I am stuck in Dora the Explorer hell. At least I have the old laptop or I may have scratched my eyeballs out by now.
Get better!
Oh and the douchbag comment nearly had me in tears, LOL.

This year's flu shot was a joke... the stuff going around here in Houston wasn't even IN the shot. I think they totally missed it.
I'm sorry you are feeling pukey. Nothing worse that feeling like death warmed over when you want to work out.

Feeling somewhat better today. Don't worry, if I have to check myself into the hospital for liquid IV's, I will be 100% for our trip this weekend!

I completely agree--less than a week after I got the flu shot, I came down with a weeklong bout of respiratory illness. Hmm.. isn't that what the shot is supposed to protect you from? There have been similar news reports here that they "guessed incorrectly" on the strains. Oh, the marvels of medicine.

Thanks girl! I tried to get back on today, but it didn't want to roll with me.

Thanks! It totally does and it's even worse as we are coming into these first few beautiful days of sunshine and semi-warmth.

Well, woke up this morning feeling still less than 75%, but went through my morning routine hoping to shake it out. Trained w/a trainee for an hour, and felt okay. Once she finished, I thought, "okay, you're up, you're here, let's see how you really feel." So, I jumped on the treadmill and did some light sprints to warm up. Ran at 7mph, 4% incline for 45 seconds. Got to the third sprint, and about 35 seconds in, my stomach indicated it was not happy with what was going on. After I returned to my workout room, I thought I would at least attempt to get in a light weight set, but it was pathetic at best. Was shaky, had horrible balance, and was constantly fighting the cold sweats.
One-Armed DB Snatch-1 x 6 each x 15, 1 x 8 each x 20, 1 x 7 each x 25
DB Single-Leg Rom. D.L.-3 x 8 each x 25 dbs
Barbell Bent-over Row-1 x 6 x 55, 1 x 6 x 65, 1 x 6 x 75
DB Single-Arm Overhead Squat - 3 x 8 each combo x 15/25 db's
DB Incline Bench Press- 3 x 7 x 25 db's
Didn't have enough energy nor strength to attempt the planks and knew that if I even thought too hard about the Body Weight Matrix, I would have to be taken out of there in an ambulance.
Taking it easy for the rest of the day and plan on doing an abbreviated repeat of one set of this workout tomorrow and will finish with the planks and evil body matrix.
A couple weeks ago when the stomach virus attacked me, I thought I was dying! I called the doctor and she said it wasn't the flue (the flu is respiratory, just like you said), BUT she did say they are working on a vaccine for the stomach virus, too. Since I don't get a flu shot, I don't know if I'd get a stomach virus vaccine, either. BUT, since I'll do ANYTHING to NOT throw up, I may think about it, if it's ever released!
I awoke to a downright beautiful morning here and also to the beautiful feeling of my stomach NOT feeling like it was doing it's own squat/thrusts. I don't know if it was the sunshine or the fact that I am completely freaked out by what may have been the worst hair coloring decision I have ever made, but I took it and ran!
I had every intention of re-doing my crap workout from yesterday, but just couldn't bear the thought of being in my windowless gym knowing it was 60 degrees outside, so I busted out some heavy sets and then hit the pavement.
Thursday Details:
Supine single-arm tricep extension-1x15x8, 1x12x10, 1x10x12-each arm
50 Bicycles
20 Frog Crunches
60 second plank
90 second each side plank w/5 db over-the-body static hold
15 Frog Crunches
40 Bicycles
Standing Bicep Curls 1x19x20db's
Standing Alt. Hammer Curls 1x25 totalx20db's (got the extra one on my right arm.)
Went outside to a small hill (if you've ever been to northern Indiana, you realize how rare a find this is.) Did Alternating Lunges up and back (total of 96) with 10 db's at sides. Held onto db's and went up and back doing a squatted, side-walk (sure there is a name for this, but don't know what it is.) Thought my pants were going to rip off my body like the Hulk, but after the white-hot heat subsided, headed up the road to a side street and ran sprints. It felt delightful to be outside and be able to really sprint! Don't know speed, but sprinted for distances between 50-60 yards and light jogged for double that. Was running to beat hell and felt fantastic. Ended up doing 15 sprints and jogged back home.
After the last few days of feeling less than prime, I felt like a new woman today and it was glorious to be able to get outside and enjoy this lovely weather!
Will be repeating my NROL workout from Wednesday tomorrow and if weather is holding up, will probably get back outside for some additional self-inflicted punishment!
I love those first workouts outside each year. It almost doesn't feel like work.
I know exactly what you mean. I would love to know how fast I was sprinting, I felt like a puma! Although I'm sure if someone was timing me, it would have been more like an overweight housecat with 3 legs.

60 degrees? In Indiana? I am jealous! We did manage to hit 50 degrees yesterday, but I am dying for Spring!!!
Nice workouts Lorianne. I'm so glad you are feeling better.
Thank you! I have to credit the fact that I was outside-it seemed so much easier to just keep going and going versus doing them inside where I either have to keep turning around or make corners.
The weather was priceless, I told Ginger earlier this morning that it was the kind of day that made you want to send a thank-you note to God.
I am so happy to be feeling better too. So many people have come down with this, and I feel lucky to have not had it as badly as some.
Glad to hear you're feeling better, that's great! And it's nice to feel the spring's in the air and snow's finally melting...I thought it'd never come this time around And- great workout!
Great workout! I'm glad you're feeling better! The weather here was pretty nice yesterday, but still not as warm as I would have liked. Oh well, at least it's on an upward trend finally!!
Spring has definatelly sprung in the PNW. I am excited about it because it means more cardio outside when I am again allowed to do more cardio. I hate running the tready.

You know, I have really begun hating running on the treadmill also-don't know if it's the treadmill itself or just knowing I really haven't been able to get outside. All I know is I felt so good running outside, like a caged bird who had been freed!
Well, didn't post Friday's workout and don't have my book handy, but can pretty much sum it up as 40 minutes of hard-core leg and shoulder work. I skipped my NROL workout and will be getting back on schedule tomorrow. If memory serves, I had my shoulders to failure after a mere 12 minutes, then did some sets of front-weighted squats and wall sits with weight plates. Also got outside and did a 20 minute light jog with 5 lb. db's.
Didn't work out Saturday or today (and it felt dang good!), and instead we had a FANTASTIC, much-needed getaway with Ginger and her husband! We met up in Cincinatti and the four of us just kicked back, enjoyed a healthy dinner, and then hit the town for some drinks and dancing! I almost started to let the guilt in this afternoon thinking about the extra calories, but instead, focused on the fact that I got to spend time with my best friends! It's okay to have those nights, and it used to be at least weekly, so I certainly can't beat myself up for one night every few months. Plus, now I have that extra motivation to really kick my butt this week and jump back into hardcore workout/clean eating mode. I'm thinking the shock factor to my body alone might bring about some new ignition!
That sounds great, Lorianne! Nothing to feel guilty about! Good thing the guys were with the two of you....wouldn't be safe letting you two hotties out on the town alone.
Sounds like you had a great weekend! And don't feel guilty about one night of not watching exactly what you eat... i've been slacking for like a week and a half now... gotta find a way back on the bandwagon... lol

Glad you had fun and glad to have you back.
You know, we joked with our husbands that they could have saved some money on drinks if they would have let us pretend to be single!
They didn't find that quite as humorous as we did, strangely enough.

Thanks Girls! I just can't say enough how nice it was to have a "night off"! Although I do think our abs. got a serious workout from all the laughing. I hit the gym today full of motivation and feeling wonderfully invigorated, ate like a clean champion, so life is good!

My sister came over and was playing some new music she had downloaded, so we hooked up her ipod and did some crazy step aerobics for 5 songs with 1 minute breaks between each one. We were just having fun and screwing around, but definitely kicking our asses! My average BPM was 144, and it was an enjoyable break from the usual cardio!
